Mara’s POV
I rubbed my eyes as I slowly got up from the bed and headed for the bathroom. I stumbled backwards as I thought I was still dreaming in my sleep.
The bathroom was bigger than the living room back at my house and it also had a bathtub, so I pinched myself to check if it was real. I turned on the shower which was very cold. I was sure I would freeze to death if the water had touched me.
It took me some time but I managed to find the hot water button, letting it all flow into a big bucket. I added some cold water and managed to make a warm bath for myself.
There were so many towels in the bathroom, all of different colors and I had fun picking which one to use as I came out wrapped in a light pink towel.
I was about to take off my towel when two maids entered with some clothes.
“Good morning ma’am” one of them greeted me and I looked at her as if I had just seen a ghost but what made me dumbfounded was that she called me MA’AM. I thought that maybe she was blind so I waved my hand in front of her face.
“Mara what are you trying to do?” Keren entered the room suddenly, giving me a fright.
“Keren I think she is blind, she just called me ma’am, you need to get her eyesight checked immediately” I walked towards where Keren was and whispered into her ears.
“Keren, her eyesight is perfectly fine” she shook her head slowly and diverted her attention from me.
“You can drop the clothes and leave now. I will send for you if I need anything” Keren instructed and the maid slowly placed the clothes on the bed and her partner left with her, both following each other’s pace and having a particular walking step.
“Is it your dream career to be a maid?” Keren drew my attention when she noticed I had been staring at them for too long.
“What do you mean by that?” I folded my hands as they rested on my chest.
“The way you look at them, it’s quite suspicious or are you planning to kidnap them and take them away from here?” She raised an eyebrow.
“With which money?” I lowered my eyebrows.
“I don’t know” she burst into laughter and handed me a lotion.
“Use this. I am sure it would fit your skin perfectly” she walked out and I could finally have the room to myself.
I dropped my towel and poured some of the lotion on my palm before rubbing it on my skin, it felt so warm.
“Yep, I am taking this along with me” I concluded before finishing up.
Lakshmi’s POV
At school
“So Mia would you be coming for the school’s sleepover party” Lakshmi asked Mia as they walked down the very noisy hallway with student gossiping here and there.
” I don’t like parties and I don’t like noise. Parties come with noise so I am not coming” Mia shrugged as she pressed her lips together and held onto her school bag that was hung on her back.
“Common Mia it is going to be very fun and besides that’s not what sleepover parties are like, they are very fun. I am sure you are going to enjoy it so just come please” I held onto Mia’s right arm as I continued to shake it, pleading with her.
“Ok,” she shrugged and I hugged her so tightly but the big smile on my face quickly vanished when I took notice of Alyssa staring at us.
“Mia” I called out to her and made her turn around.
“I don’t like the way she is looking at us Mia, let’s get out of here before she tries to harm you again ” I pulled Mia arms and practically dragged her out of the hallway.
Alyssa’s POV
Run Mia, run as fast as your legs can carry you because by the end of tomorrow night you won’t be able to run again.
I will hit you so hard that it will be impossible for you to see the break of dawn and as for you Lakshmi you have just brought unnecessary trouble for yourself because I will combine your fate with that of Mia’s.
“Are you okay Alyssa?” One of my school mates reached out to me when she noticed I was the only person who wasn’t struggling to make it to class after the period bell had been rung.
I looked at her as if I was confused and pretended not to hear anything that she was saying. She looked at me for a while and then tapped her wrist watch and I also looked at the time on my wrist watch, I acted surprised and also made my way to class.
We had a new teacher and I really didn’t like her, there was nothing wrong with her but I just didn’t like her and the lesson was boring me, I wanted something fun. I looked at her legs immensely and then my eyes turned green.
“Ahh” she held her legs as she could feel her bones twisting and her blood being drained out. I didn’t stop as I continued to twist her legs with my eyes and all the students rushed towards her including me.
Lakshmi looked at me at once and I could tell she knew that I was responsible so I stopped almost immediately.
She pulled me out of the class and gave me a tight slap.
“How dare you?” I was about to return the slap but she held my hand in mid air.
“I am not afraid of you. I am not Mia, so don’t you ever think otherwise. Now, you better go in there and undo what you just did. If not , I will expose you in front of everyone..” Lakshmi was warning and I was about to give her a fitting reply when she held my lips.
“If anything happens to me then you will still be exposed because you are the only person here with me” she smirked and I was so angered by the fact that she was right and that she smartly had me cornered.
“I will get you back for this” I angrily stormed into the classroom and looked at the teacher.
“I’m fine now” the teacher who had been on the floor suddenly declared and stood up. I saw Mia and Lakshmi having eye contact and I was sure Lakshmi wouldn’t be keeping what just happened to herself. I felt relieved when I remembered that the two girls won’t survive after tomorrow night.
