“Duk Duk Duk”
“Come in.”
“Sister Lan, it’s me,” Amelia Bright pushed open the office door with the design in her arms, smiled slightly, and walked towards Sister Lan’s desk.
“You’re just in time, go get me a cup of coffee.”
She froze for a moment, took a deep breath, and took Sister Lan’s cup.
“I’m on my way.”
As she was about to leave, Sister Lan’s annoyed voice came from behind her desk, “What’s this nonsense you’re drawing, did you graduate from elementary school?”
A pile of sketches was rolled up and thrown into the trash with a ‘thud’.
“Why don’t you go?” Sister Lan noticed the papers in Amelia Bright’s hand, “What’s in your hand?”
Amelia Bright froze for a moment and said busily.
“This is the design sketch I thought of for the fall/winter collection and wanted to show it to you.”
Sister Lan looked at her, seemed to be a little surprised, and half a moment later spat out the words.
“Keep it.”
Amelia Bright put her sketches on the table, and was relieved.
When she went out to make coffee, she met Mary, Sister Lan’s chief design assistant, who was walking with a lot of papers in her hands, looking as if she was in a hurry.
“Good morning, Sister Mary,” Amelia Bright greeted.
Mary suddenly stumbled, and the papers in her hand spilled out on the ground with a ‘clatter’.
“My goodness …”
Amelia Bright knelt down to help her pick things up, “I’m not too loud, how did it scare you?”
“It’s okay …” Little Bright hands and feet to clean up the mess on the ground, there are a few pieces of paper floating far away, she moved back several steps to pick up.
Most of the ones on the floor were some designs, and Amelia Bright, after seeing a few, rejoiced.
“Is this all the work of the people who interviewed today? These designs are great, and can be considered for this year’s fall and winter jewelry styles.”
Bright suddenly turned around, looking a little unnatural.
“They are all samples and have to be reviewed by Sister Lan.”
With that, the two designs in Amelia Bright’s hand were hurriedly taken away, and Bright walked away with the pile of papers in her arms.
Amelia Bright froze, what kind of drafts? Isn’t this the work of the interviewer? It was signed in the bottom right corner with the word Miyagawa! There didn’t seem to be anyone named Miyagawa in the design department.
Puzzled, Amelia Bright went to the pantry to make coffee and did her job.
“Sister Lan, coffee.”
“Well, thanks.” Sister Lan took a sip of the coffee, then set it aside and went on to look at the sketches that were so unimpressive in her mouth, balling them up one by one and throwing them into the trash.
Amelia Bright did not see her sketches in the trash, but she did see the folder she had bound them in under Sister Lan’s mouse pad.
She sighed silently and left the office.
I thought this Sister Lan would be different, but I didn’t realize that all people in this business are like this. It’s hard to get a person in a high position to accept a newcomer’s opinion with complete openness.
Although she was prepared for her designs to go down the drain from the start, Amelia Bright was still depressed for a day when she saw her drawings being treated as mouse pads.
After work, Amelia Bright dragged her body out of the group after a day of odd jobs, and saw a familiar figure from afar, it was Mary’s assistant who had been surprised by her in the morning, and was about to greet her, but was preempted by someone else, or a clean and handsome man.
“Amelia.”
A light voice sounded behind her, pulling back Amelia Bright’s gaze.
“Xiao Bai,” Amelia Bright looked back and saw Xiao Bai, smiling at the moment, “I thought you were gone.”
“Went to the bathroom.”
The two walked out of the group gate side by side, Amelia Bright quietly pointed at Mary’s assistant in the distance, “Is that Sister Mary’s boyfriend?”
“Who?” White had a gossipy face, and after following her gaze, shook her head to deny, “No, Mary’s boyfriend I’ve seen, not as tall as this one, this one is in all probability a student who recently attended the interview.”
“Student?”
“Well, recently there are a lot of interviews, trying to go through the back door, look at Mary’s recent success, this is the master of how many future designers to enter the threshold of our industry life and death power ah.”
Amelia Bright nodded her head in agreement.
Although Mary is only a design assistant, but these interview kids have to pass her, as long as she has a negative, no matter how much talent you have, even the Austin Group design department can not enter the door.
If Mary is the chief design assistant of Sister Lan, if her design can be approved by Mary, it may also be a doorway, Amelia Bright’s eyes suddenly light up.
At the same time, inside the Jinling military area…
In a secluded courtyard in the southeast corner of the drill ground, Farren Austin was holding the railings on both sides, gradually relaxing the force on his wrists and trying to find the feeling in his legs.
The adjutant, standing erect on one side, suggested that
“You come to the military area every day to do rehab, this back and forth is actually very laborious, or else simply live in the military area and forget about it, and do not waste time dealing with things at home.”
Farren Austin finished his walk and continued to prop himself up on the railing, his face oozing with sweat, glistening in the sun.
“I’m afraid it would take more work if I didn’t come and go every day, living in a military zone may not be safe, once upon a time is a good example?”
His voice is clear and cold, with the actual sunset at this moment, inexplicably some depression.
“Five years ago the exercise explosion, has found some clues, the two soldiers responsible for patrolling the mine watch area at the time were drugged before they fell asleep for the afternoon, as for the road signs, no need to think about it, you also know that someone deliberately changed.”
“What about the specific?”
“This is still not much of a clue,”
“After five years of investigation there are no clues, this person is hidden deep enough.”
“I’m afraid it’s someone from the inside.”
The adjutant’s voice was vaguely worried, “If it’s an insider, you really have to be more careful in the future.”
“Like you’re talking now, you should be careful.” Farren Austin gave him a meaningful look, and as the adjutant returned to his senses, said lightly.
“It’s late, I should get back.”
“Yes.”
The adjutant helped him into the wheelchair, and out of the corner of his eye, he swept past the courtyard gate, where a shadow was stretched out by the setting sun, covering the pavement.
He turned his eyes and teased, “The chief never used to care about the time to go back, it all depends on the mood, but now he comes home on time every day, and by the way, this time happens to be the time when the chief’s wife gets off work.”
Farren Austin did not deny it, allowing the words to fall on ears across the wall.
