Ace kissed his wife quickly before stepping out of the delivery room. Everyone rushed towards him.
“How is she?”
“What about the baby?”
“Is mom okay?”
“Ivy is fine right?”
They flooded him with questions. A smile broke out on his face. “My wife already put to bed. A baby girl.” He announced.
They all screamed out in excitement as they congratulated Ace. Everyone was indeed happy. They waited a few minutes for the medical team to bring Ivy and the baby out of the delivery ward.
Ivy was pushed out on wheelchair by the female, Ace took over from the female doctor while the nurse pushed the baby cot too. The family of Ace and his wife followed the medical team as they moved mother and child into a private room.
“Congratulations, Mr Ace and Mrs Ivy Clark.” Doctor Maxwell came into the ward with a pink teddy bear. “I am presenting this to the new addition in the family.” He gave the teddy to the mother of the child.
They all thanked doctor Maxwell before he motioned out with his colleagues. Leroy already positioned himself beside the cot as he watched his baby sister sleeping peacefully.
“How are you feeling?” Mrs Rivera asked.
“I am fine. And I am glad that my son and daughter are both fine too.” Ivy gestured to Leroy to come to her. Ace helped Leroy on the bed and he embraced his mom tightly.
“I am sorry you had to go through all of that.” Ivy apologized.
“That woman will rot in jail for what she has done!” Mr Clark gritted.
The private investigator had called to explain everything he heard in the recording while Ace was in the hall. The old man shared the experience briefly with everyone present. He didn’t even feel bad that Jenny had lost her own child. He was angry that she had endangered the lives of four humans just because of she wanted revenge on his son.
“I agree with you. What if she had succeeded in killing them?” Mrs Rivera said.
“Then we won’t be here celebrating the birth of my niece.” Emily added.
“I am happy you are all safe.” Mr Clark sighed.
“So what name did you plan to give her?” Mrs Clark asked as she already carried the baby in her arms.
“Beverly.” Ace and Ivy said in unison.
“So that means she is Beverly Clark. The Heiress of Ace Clark.” Mrs Clark commented.
“Such a nice name.. Beverly.” Mrs Rivera complimented.
Everyone giggled in happiness. Mr Clark cleared his throat. “Well I name her Leilani. I have had this name in my head for years now.” They all laughed at the old man’s words.
“I was hoping to name Ace first son, Edward. It’s my father’s name but we missed Leroy’s naming.” Mrs Clark pouted.
“It’s not late. You guys will have more children right?” Mr Clark asked.
Ace and Ivy exchanged glances. “Of course! I want three more from you!” Mrs Clark coaxed.
“What?!” The couple gasped out in shock.
“No mom, we don’t plan to have five kids. Moreover I don’t want to see my wife go through that pain anymore. It wasn’t easy for her to push the baby out.” Ace countered.
“You are slowly becoming like your father. He decided that we have just you because he was present in the delivery room.” Mrs Clark laughed.
“No, that’s not the only reason. I only saved myself the stress of having to transfer all my wealth to too many children.” Mrs Clark joked and they all laughed.
“Don’t worry, we’ll have one more. Initially we agreed to having three children.” Ivy said.
“Well.. three is also not bad. I’ll manage it.” Mrs Clark replied.
They all laughed and married at the birth of the new born baby.
