Sofia’s pov
It’s been a full month and a week since the horrible phase of me leaving the house in anger after discovering I once cheated on me.
Since that time, it was as if we grew closer and closer as the day passed by, and I loved every second of it and would never ask for anything else.
It was as if I fell more in love with Luca everyday, that it was almost insane to dwell upon. I’ve been in love with him for a really long while and it has always left me breathless each time he said those words to me. When he had said those words to me that first time, it had still left me in shock even into the very next day, but when he repeated those same words to me the next day at nighttime, and the day after that day, was when it actually began to fully sink in.
Of course I ended up saying the words back, because I loved him too, and have loved him for a longer time than he can ever imagine. The shock that crossed his face after I said the words back to him one night was almost comical that I found myself giggling a little while being cocooned in his arms.
“You do?” He had asked quietly, almost like he expected me to shake my head in response. I found it funny that he hasn’t realized this since a while back, telling from how much trust I had in him.
Slowly, I nodded my head with my hands still moving through his hair. “Of course, I’ve done for a long while,”
“Wow.” He had whispered, voice filled with awe as he tightened his arms around me and snuggled against my chest even more.

Things have been going pretty well for me, even way better than I expected.
After I uploaded the picture I took with my icon at his exclusive set exhibition, it got me more traction and more zeal to start off my career once again. What got me more pumped is the fact that my icon has said he was ready to work on a collab with me whenever I’m ready for it, and of course, that was an extremely big deal that still gets me bursting with excitement till date.
I let out a small sigh as I continued to walk down the slightly busy walkway. I was meeting up with Luca upfront and together, we’d be heading towards and I couldn’t wait because I loved eating out with Luca so much.
Luca was about to buy out the entire restaurant for the night but I convinced him against it, because I wanted to feel like I’m in my own private bubble with him in the midst of other people. A few people threw me curious glances as I walked, which only made me roll my eyes. My guards were also trailing after me right now, because they always go wherever I go.
When I sighted Luca, a smile broke out on my face which made my cheeks hurt as I closed the distance between us. He was on a call while glancing at his watch, and a bunch of flowers were in his left hand. I looked from side to side, and unsurprisingly, people were throwing him looks from every direction.
“Hey bunny.” He whispered after ending the call and holding the door of his car open for me. I accepted the flowers after sliding into the car and hesitated for a moment before speaking.
“You were holding this flower outside, where a lot of people could see. Wouldn’t it damage your reputation?”
Luca snickered before brushing one part of the petals. “I don’t care about that any longer. I need everyone to know that I care about my wife and am ready to burn the entire country down for her.” He declared, eyes blazing as he spoke and I felt a pleased shiver slide down my spine as my mouth slightly fell open from shock.
“Oh.” I whispered and Luca hummed as he leaned forward and brushed a kiss against my head.
“Mhhm.”

The dinner was as pleasant as I expected it to be. The restaurant itself wasn’t one of those high class ones. I managed to convince Luca into bringing into one where things weren’t overly glamorous and overpriced. The food tasted way better here than I had expected, which was why I told Luca that this is definitely my favorite restaurant ever.
“Over my string of restaurants?” Luca teased and I hummed while nodding my head. “Of course!” I responded and Luca chuckled fondly as he poured me a drink once again.
“This place isn’t heavy on security though. It’s a nice place but that’s a deal breaker. It’s not safe enough for the likes of us.”
My mood soured a little after luca spoke but I was quite lively again as soon as I reminded myself that I could definitely get Luca to bring me here again and again, because I knew I had him wrapped around my fingers.
Luca was feeding me a bite of steak when commotion broke out, causing me to bite hard on the fork that a shock wave went through my teeth as I scrambled to my feet. Everyone was on their feet as well and screams were already ringing out, when I noticed what had actually gone off.
Someone was in a mask, holding a gun, and pointing it in my direction. Shock engulfed me next, because I wasn’t sure of what to make of this. Luca was extremely calm, eyes calculating ad he tugged me to his side.
The person with the mask was heading towards me and I noticed two other people shushing everyone and ordering them to get on their stomachs. The entire place has been thrown upside down and I was left wondering who these people are, because they didn’t feel like thieves to me.
“Step away from him.” The person barked, high pitched and that was when a little recognition dawned on me. By my side, Luca tensed even more, face hardening into granite. He left my side before I could begin to do as the ambusher had asked, heaving straight for the person and a terrified scream tumbled past my throat because the person literally had a gun pointed.
“Stop right there, or I’m going to shoot you!” The person cried out, voice pitched and sounding hella familiar. I watched as Luca cocked his head sideways and was shocked.
“You won’t, you can’t.”
The person’s hand trembled around the gun this time. “E- exactly, that’s why I’m gonna shoot your wife!” The person declared and I flinched in fright.
“You wouldn’t dare, you obsessed bastard.” Luca snarled and that was when it dawned on me who was behind the mask.
“Lola…?” I whispered, still reeling from shock. A bitter laugh echoed for a moment. “Great guess, you slowpoke. Took you long enough.” She snickered.
“Why are you doing this?” I whispered, mind still filled with shock.
“Because I want your husband, obviously. I was in the picture before you, I deserve him.” She continued, the gun still pointed at me.
“He’s my husband.”
“Do I look like I care? I don’t give two fucks about that, which is why I’m taking you out, you can never be able to satisfy him like me anyways.”
“That’s enough.” Luca growled before I could get a word out.
The back and forth still continued after that, which made me come to a realization that she wasn’t looking out for me or was doing so fron guilt when she came to me, but had done that because she wanted me to leave him, that had been her plan from the onset, and since it clearly didn’t work, she decided to come take me out of the picture completely by herself. It made me realize that I had been a fool for wanting to keep her protected by warning Luca to not hurt her before I stormed out of the house that first night.
I had protected her for nothing.
When Luca attempted to grab the gun from her, she ended up firing off at me and it hit the side of my leg despite me screaming and hastily ducking. Luca shot her in the leg with her own gun in the next moment just as the cops burst into the restaurant.
The cops wrestled the guys who came with Lola and handcuffed them all. Luca ordered them to take Lola away and that his men were coming to get her because she deserves to be taught a lesson she’d never forget till she asks for death– in Luca’s words.
