Luca’s pov
I’m nothing but the true embodiment of the word ‘a mess’ right now… or rather, for the past days. As the days went by, my situation only seemed to be worsening.
It’s been a week since my marriage turned upside down, and I can’t say I’ve been faring well ever since.
It suxked big time because I couldn’t skip work any longer, and I made sure to take out my anger on people foolish enough to go against my mafia.
Day after day, the thought of going home after a long day, made me feel extremely depressed, and I wasn’t sure of how long i could continue like this. Everything at home reminded me of Sofia, and I hated it so much because it kept me up all night long.
I missed her with every breath I took and every sigh I left out. It’s crazy how I never thought I could ever be affected by her absence until a week ago.
I hate the fact that nothing seemed to be working out, no matter how much I tried. Violence wouldn’t even work out in this situation, which made me feel helpless as hell because on a normal day and in a different situation that doesn’t involve Sofia, violence would’ve worked out in a heartbeat.
I desperately wanted to work things with her, but she wasn’t even giving me the chance to try. I want to be mad at her about that, but I couldn’t bring myself to try because I knew damn well that I was at fault in this situation and that she also deserves to be mad at me for as long as she pleases.
If only I wasn’t getting more depressed as the days passed.
When I got into the house this night, a resigned sigh escaped my lips and I glanced around the bleak looking house before heading straight for the kitchen to retrieve some alcohol. The house was completely empty because I had dismissed Matilda a few days ago since Sofia wasn’t here and it wasn’t like I was eating the food she was preparing.
Anger slowly consumed me as I stood in the kitchen while my mind wandered away, towards the cause of this entire thing.
Lola.
I wanted to end her life so bad. I wanted to torture her till she beg for death. I wanted to show her what happened to people who went against a direct order of mine.
But I couldn’t do any of those because Sofia had asked me to and I didn’t want to annoy her even further. She was yet to forgive me so far, if she discovered that Lola was no more and that it was my fault, she might not want to be married to me any longer. The thought of that alone made me grimace.
As I headed into the sitting room, I absent mindedly wondered why Sofia even cared about Lola’s well-being. Lola clearly wanted to separate Sofia from me, which was why she had gone ahead to reveal what she had to her, but Sofia still wanted nothing to happen to her despite that.
Which brings me to the conclusion once again, that woman couldn’t be completely figured out.
I knew where Sofia currently is, she has been staying at the hotel which belonged to her. I could easily head over there and pester her till she listened, but I didn’t want to worsen my chance with her, hence why I’m staying away and giving her the space she clearly wants. James had given me that advice, claiming that women are weird creatures who you definitely do not want to get more mad at you when they already are.
Even though I couldn’t see her physically, that didn’t stop me from spamming her with texts everyday. She responds to some of the texts here and there, and that was it.
Whenever I tried to ask her to not cheat on me back, she outrightly ignored me, and any texts I’d have sent after that.
The thought of her cheating on me with someone that wasn’t me was one of the reasons why I could barely get any sleep every night. There was nothing I could really do other than to hope she doesn’t actually do it.
If any man is dumb enough to dare sleep with my wife, he’s gonna lose his head faster than he’d have ever imagined. It’s why I assigned Ryan and Ethan to report her every move to mine, despite how unhealthy I know that’s starting to get.
I miss seeing her pretty face all over the house, miss her spamming me her pictures whenever I’m at work. I never get any of those, and I missed them so damn much. I know I could easily ask her guards to take pictures of her secretly and send them to me, but I didn’t want to get even creepier, which was why I refrained from asking for that.
With a sigh, I headed into the bedroom to take a quick shower, and while showering, a thought occurred to me, which I instantly put into work once I was out of the bathroom.
Picking up my phone, I dialed the number and held the phone against my ear. The call got answered after a few heartbeats.
“Hello, Kayla. I need your help with something, please…”

Sofia’s pov
It’s been four days since I stormed out of the house after waking up from a drunken night. It’s been four days since I last set my eyes on Luca, and I missed him tremendously.
I wasn’t sure if I was just being difficult on purpose, but I know damn well I had a right to be annoyed in this situation. I missed him so much and wished this entire thing hadn’t happened, then I’d be able to be in his arms every night.
Fights sucks and I never want to experience another one with him after this one is over.
Armani had just left about an hour ago. When he arrived, he spent over four hours with me, and I enjoyed every second with him. I hadn’t even realized how much I had missed him until I was in his arms and he was kissing my head.
Surprisingly, he hadn’t tried convincing me to forgive Luca and to come back home like I had expected. Instead, he told me how Luca was such a mess and how he totally deserved it, then he went ahead to advice me to make Luca grovel even more and that I should make sure he worked hard for my forgiveness.
That had made me tug him into a hug while laughing because that was such an Armani thing to say.
When I asked him about the person he was seeing, shockingly , he gave me a name this time.
Nala.
He also said something even shocking.
“I think I’m falling in love with her.”
And that was the best thing I’ve heard all week because I’ve been rooting for Armani and the person he has been seeing since forever, which prompted me to urge him to go for it with full force.
Now that he was gone, it didn’t take long for me to start feeling bored again. I was tempted to call Luca just so I could hear his deep, husky voice. I had been ignoring his calls till he stopped bothering to call and instead stuck to texting, because I didn’t want my resistance to crumble after listening to his voice for a fleeting second.
I settled into another spot on the couch, curling into myself even more while attempting to read a book, and that was when a call entered, from Kayla.
“Can you meet up with me somewhere?” She asked, and I picked out the excitement in her voice at once.
“Where?”
“It’s a surprise! Now get dressed in a little black dress and I’d come pick you up in an hour! Bye!”
