Sofia’s pov
I tried to suppress my headache for the hundredth time while silently berating myself over refusing the drugs which were offered to me by Luca, hours after I had woken up.
How I had managed to get myself completely drunk last night is still a mystery to me, and as another wave of pain swam through my head, I reminded myself once again that I was never gonna drink Alcohol ever again.
“Are we almost there yet?” I called out, and Ethan was the one who responded this time.
“Not yet, ma’am, but we will be, in a few minutes.”
I exhaled softly and stared out the window, grimacing as pain shot through my head, reminding me that I really need to use something for it.
Leaving the house today was as hard as it was the night I had angrily stormed out of the house, the day I discovered that Luca had cheated on me.
Three days later, I left the house again this morning because of that same topic.
I wasn’t surprised that Luca had arrived at the club last night, I mean; I should’ve expected it because I knew damn well that my guards would always report to him.
If I hadn’t been shit faced drunk last night, nothing would have stopped me from letting myself be taken home from the club. That had only been possible because of how drunk I had been.
I knew he had wanted to scold me this morning over how careless I had been at the club last night but hadn’t been able to because of the ongoing issue which was still on ground. I knew I had acted irresponsibly, I didn’t need to hear it from anyone.
“We’ve arrived.”
Those words pulled me out of my thoughts and I realized that the car had stopped moving.
As soon as the door got pulled open, I stepped out of it and ran my hands over my face because the onslaught of sunlight caused pain to shoot through my head.
Perhaps I should have just headed back to the hotel I checked into a few days ago.
I said to myself as I let my eyes trail over the large building standing right in front of me. I had been here just once, with Luca, months before my birthday.
The reason why I decided to come here after leaving home was because I had suddenly remembered that I have a hotel in my name, one which I haven’t visited since the night Luca had gifted it to me as an early birthday present.
“Hello, ma’am.” A deep voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I turned around to see whose voice that was. Right there, a few feet away, stood three men, and a woman.
The one who had spoken was the oldest in the bunch, with a head full of gray hair, although he still looked quite strong.
“Uh, hi.” I offered, watching as the inched closer before bowing respectfully.
“We’re so happy to finally have you visit, Mrs. Ricci.” The man continued, and that was when it dawned on me that these people were definitely the managers of this hotel, which belonged to me.
I don’t even know the people handling my business. I thought to myself in mirth.
“Thank you for the warm welcome.” I said to them as we all made our way into the hotel, with all what I had packed from home being carried by one of the hotel’s couriers.
Ethan and Ryan were tailing us as well, which I was grateful about this time, because this was still foreign to me, in a way.
“You should have told us you were coming today, ma’am. We’d have thrown a grand welcome for you.” The woman finally spoke and I chuckled softly while shaking my head.
“Oh no, that wouldn’t be necessary.” I dismissed as we all stepped into the elevator.
“So, how has business been? Booming?” I mused and the eldest amongst the crew chuckled while nodding his head. “That’s one way to put it, ma’am. Business has been growing beautifully.”
“That’s great to hear. During my stay here, I’m gonna finally explore the ins and outs of the hotel.”
The elevator got to the highest floor and we all stepped out. One of the managers held out a single key which got retrieved by the eldest in the group who opened a large door to the room I’d be staying in for now.
“You’re welcome to do that anytime, ma’am. We’d be happy to serve you in any way you want, ma’am.”
I stepped into the room and retrieved my bag from the courier.
“Thank you for the warm welcome.” I offered, and after a few back and forth, I closed the door behind me and took a long look around the inside of the room.
Itwas more than a room, it was like a full house, making me come to the conclusion that this particular floor is exclusively for super rich people.
I inched into the house, heading into a different room which turned out to the bedroom and then I flopped on the bed a fleeting moment later.
A dull pain shot through my head as soon as it connected with the bed and I let out an irritated sigh while sitting up and grasping the telephone on the side table to reach out to the receptionist and request for some tablets.

The next day, unable to continue keeping it to myself, I invited Kayla over and poured my heart out to her. That helped out immensely as I had hoped because after the time I spent crying in her arms, it helped me feel a little bit better.
We talked throughout the day and she stayed with me until late into the night. After she left, I skipped dinner and went straight to bed.
The next morning, Zander was amongst the series of texts I had gotten and I ignored the rest, along with Luca’s and went straight into his. He wanted to hang out, which was the perfect distraction I needed for the meantime, so I instantly agreed and we met up in a few hours.
It was fun while it lasted, but against my will, I still ended up thinking about Luca every now and then while hanging out with Zander.
