Sofia’s pov
“I’m almost done.” I called out while clipping my earrings on and checking myself out in the mirror once again, because I needed to look really good for tonight.
“You said that five minutes ago.” Luca reminded me and I but on the side of my lips before turning my head around to slant him a look.
“You know, getting ready for women is ten times harder than getting ready for men, that’s why I take so much time than you, it’s something that can’t be helped.
Luca was standing beside the bed and was fixing his tie. He arched a brow at me before snorting out a laugh and shaking his head slowly.
“Or, it could be that men are just faster than women because they just are.”
“That’s can’t be! How many things do you have to put on compared to me?” I demanded and watched as Luca drew towards me in the mirror which I was staring into as i fluffed my hair with my fingers.
“You’re right, bunny.” He said as he reached up to trace my bare throat with his fingers for a few seconds. Moments later, he pulled away and entered the walk in closet to return with a box, in which he retrieved a necklace from– one of the gifts which he had gave me on my birthday, which I had somehow forgotten about until right now.
“This would look so well with your dress tonight.” He murmured as he brushed my hair aside and proceeded to clip the jewelry on my throat. I bit on my bottom lip in order to prevent the smile from peaking out but I knew, but it couldn’t really be helped.
The necklace looked so good sitting on my throat and kind Luca had observed, it indeed looked extremely good with my dress.
“It does look really good, thank you so much.” I whispered while still staring into the mirror. Luca let out a hum while his hand trailed over the edge of the necklace in a featherlight touch. He let out a small hum before attempting to speak.
“It looked way better than I imagined. This was indeed made for you.” He breathed out and I felt color flood my cheeks as his words washed over me.
“You flatter me way too much, dear husband.” I said after turning around so I’d be staring up at him as I spoke. One of his hands moved to rest against the side of my face almost immediately.
“It’s not flattery if it’s the truth, it can only be called flattery if it’s a lie, which it clearly isn’t.”
I rolled my eyes while grinning up at him, because he was being extremely cheesy right now, and despite how much I’ve been in moments like this with Luca, didn’t stop so many knots from gathering in the lower parts of my stomach.
“Weren’t you just asking me to hurry up sometime ago? You’re the one delaying us right now.” I pointed out and Luca snorted out as his eyes settled on my bare feet.
“Says the one who’s yet to get her shoes on.”
Before I could begin to get them on, Luca crouched low and began to do that for me, leaving me to clutch his large shoulders for balance while feeling like a dainty princess right now.
“Where are we going again?” I asked and Luca spared me a glance for a moment, an amused look on his face.
“I knew this was coming.”
“You can’t blame me!” I shot back.
“Of course not, bunny. We’re going to a housewarming event.” He said as he pushed up to his feet, towering over me as usual despite the fact that I had heels on right now.
“The only reason I’m excited about this is that I’d get to dress up tonight and also spend time with Kayla.” I announced as we existed our bedroom.
“What about me?” Luca asked and I rolled my eyes as I looked him up and down. “We’re literally going there together and are still returning together.”
“Even though.” Luca let out in a mock sigh and then as soon as I breathed out a giggle, he scooped me up and climbed down the stairs at a really fast pace that made me giggle.

“The gift we’d be giving them has already been gotten, we’d get it once we arrive there.” Luca explained as he settled beside me, just as the car got closed and the partition got rolled up.
When we arrived there, I handed the wrapped gift to the hostess with a warm smile on while reassuring her to refer to me as Sofia.
It didn’t take me long to spot Kayla, and after that, we got lost in our own world over multiple glasses of wine. It doesn’t matter how much time I spend with her, I’d always feel excitement around her.
I was downing another glass of champagne when a hard body collided with mine, making the content of my drink to spill on the person’s body.
“Shit, I was shoved by someone right now, I’m so so–” The person apologized profusely as he turned around but the words abruptly died on his tongue as soon as our eyes met. At once, my mouth fell open and I took a step backwards in shock.
“Sofia?” The person called out, voice unsure and eyes filled with so much shock. I glanced around for a moment while trying to get my thoughts together.
“Zander.” I called out softly, noting how weird the name sounded and tasted on my tongue. It was a name I haven’t mentioned or thought about in a long time.
A broad smile stretched out on Zander’s face and in the next moment, he was tugging me into his arms and giving me the tightest hug ever, which I reciprocated because despite everything, I had missed him so much.
“I never thought I’d ever see you again…” I whispered into his shoulder just as his grip tightened a fraction more.
