James’ pov
Despite how much I dug and dug, it was still fruitless.
At this point, I might have start to give up a little,
I refused to ask Blair about it because I had told myself I wasn’t going to do that, and I’m very much determined to do just that.
Besides, I hate admitting defeat. That’s why I’m determined to figure it all out on my own. Although, with the way everything is seeming now, I wasn’t sure I’d be getting to the bottom of this any time soon.
Knowing how Blair is, she’d gloat at the fact that I’m coming back to her after trying to figure it all out on my own, and I didn’t want to be in that situation at all.
After following the trail of that late woman, down to her daughter who’s also dead, that had pretty much been where the trail had ended up at, which is not only annoying, but quite irritating to be consistently looking for something and coming up with little to no information that isn’t helping matters in any way.
The woman – the late woman, had a daughter, who also had a daughter, who had also both died in a car accident years ago, and that’s pretty much where the trail ended.
I ran my hand through my hair and let out a long sigh while wondering what it was that I’m supposed to do next. I didn’t want to involve Luca in this just yet, so moving to him for help was just out of the question.
I dropped my head on the backrest behind me and let out a long exhale, just as an image of Blair bubbled in my head.
Blair is so damn gorgeous that her sheer beauty takes my breath away every damn time.
Ever since the time we had that argument over dinner, which had that prompted me into kissing her for the first time, I hadn’t been able to stop thinking about it.
The way the argument had died on her throat. The way her chest had felt soft and full against my chest, the way she returned my kiss after recovering from the initial shock, which drove me stupidly wild.
Although, I haven’t attempted to kiss her after that night, because I didn’t want her to reject me, nor do I want to actually get in too too deep just yet, or perhaps, until I reveal her actual background and back story, at least.
I let out another sigh, and then I began to gather all the papers scattered all around the table before me.

“Wanna accompany me somewhere?” I asked as soon as I stepped into the house, she nodded her head as I slowly loosened my hold from around her waist which I had been gripping firmly after hugging her tightly, moments ago.
“Where is that?” She asked with a small cease in her brows.
“You’ll see.”
We ended up heading to my sister’s place. It’s been ages since I saw her, and it pleases me so much to her her right now.
She’s looking very much heavy than she was the last time we met, and her first kid, looked like she had grown even more from the last time I last saw her.
I twirled her around, cooing at her and promising her a tons of gifts at once, while pointedly ignoring my sister who’s already warning me to not dare get her child more gifts, but of course I never listened to her, so I acted like I didn’t hear all what she had just said as I pointed at Blair who I had just remembered is yet to be introduced.
How rude of me.
“Dearest sister, I’d like you to meet Blair.” I introduced, and as I had hoped, it didn’t take them all that long to began to get along.
As I played with my niece, I pointedly ignored the look my sister was subtly throwing at me, because I know that she had a whole lot of questions, seeing as I’ve never brought a woman with me before whenever I’m coming to see her.
At a point, Blair came to say hello to the baby, all smiles and coo. I brushed her hair out of her face and asked her if she was okay at a point, and when she reassured me that she was, I asked if she wanted to hold the baby.
I remembered my sister complaining about the baby didn’t do well with strangers, which made my heart feel really warm when she instantly took a liking to Blair, giggling giggling at the faces Blair was making at her.
I took a few steps away from them to leave them to their selves, but should have known better because as soon as I was alone, I felt my sister come to stand beside me.
“You look quite heavy.” I murmured and she glared at me.
“I know that already, I don’t need you pointing it out to me.” She responded on a pout and I cooed.
“Aw, is the baby disturbing you?” I asked and then I checked her temperature to confirm that she isn’t currently burning up. She chuckled and nodded her head.
“It sure is, I can’t wait to push it out.” She moaned and I sighed softly.
“You’re so strong.” I complimented and she grinned with her eyes narrowed a little.
“Hm, I know. But, enough about me! Let’s talk about this young lady whom you brought along with you today.”
I glanced over at Blair who was still lost in playing with the kid, and the sight warmed my insides so much that for a moment, I wondered if she’d went to have kids someday or not.
When I glanced back at my sister, she had her eyebrows arched and a suggestive smile playing out on her face, which made me roll my eyes a little.
“You were smiling just now from just staring at her. Is it that bad?” She mused and I pursed my lips.
“Shut up.”
