Sofia’s pov
“Are you cold?”
I glanced sideways at Ryan and shook my head in response, even though I was a little bit cold, because I’m currently in a top that had spaghetti straps and exposed my entire shoulders and arms.
Ryan hummed in response, eyes falling back towards the direction where we were both walking in. It was early evening, which means the sun is yet to get in completely.
Ryan and I are currently taking a walk, something which I’ve missed doing with him tremendously because after the last time when Luca had arrived, catching the both of us off guard, and the entire things that followed that incident right after, had made it almost impossible for Ryan and I to get alone in order to exchange a few words, even though it was for a little while.
After getting bored this evening and having no one else to hang around with, I instantly remembered this particular evening walk which was once a routine between Ryan and I. Ryan’s face had lightened up as soon as I had brought it up to me, making me get the much needed confirmation that I hadn’t been the only one who had missed those evenings which we spent together consistently for weeks.
Ryan had asked if I didn’t want to bring my stuffie along and of course I had declined instantly, not wanting any kind of inconvenience on me right now.
“The sky is pretty this evening.” I mumbled, eyes trailing over the expanse of clouds as I spoke.
“It doesn’t hold a candle to how pretty your eyes looks.” He responded after a few moments and I felt taken aback w little, prompting a small snort out of me.
“That’s a compliment for blue eyes, isn’t it? My eyes aren’t blue.” I let out on a snicker, watching from the side of my eyes as Ryan rolled his eyes a little, hands still deep in his pockets.
“It’s not. The clouds are a bit dark, and the weather seems like it’s getting cold, making the clouds have a light blue hue around them.” He began to speak and I tilted sideways, not getting where he’s currently headed with this.
“Which means it’s the perfect compliment for your eyes right now, because your eyes are blue and doeish and very pretty.”
“Oh.” I whispered quietly with my eyes trained on my feet while feeling a little dumbfounded.
“Thank you?” I whispered after a few moments and Ryan hummed. “Of course, I was only pointing out the obvious.”
As we continued to walk, a calm and comfortable silence fell above us, one which I wasn’t eager to break.
It took about ten minutes before Ryan broke it, to my complete shock.
“How are you?”
I blinked up at him, having not expected him to break the silence with a question like that.
As the question rolled around in my head, I felt a small smile begin to tug at the side of my lips, one which I couldn’t really help.
“I’m fine.” I finally responded after a few moments. Ryan was silent and feeling like I needed to say more, it took only a few moments before I continued to speak from where I halted at.
“Actually, I’m more than fine. I’m doing really great! I feel very happy, so happy and content, I really hope nothing comes to ruin it out of nowhere.” I admitted, deciding to go into details, and to be honest, because Ryan is now someone who I see as a really great friend.
“Oh wow.” Ryan finally breathed out in response and then he let out another hum. “That’s very great to hear, I’m glad to hear that.”
Feeling hyped, I prodded him from some details about how he’s currently doing and surprisingly, he admitted to not being fine and needing a hug from me, to my utmost shock, because never did I expect that he’d actually ask for that.
“The past week hasn’t really been easy, I can imagine just how bad it has felt for you. It was a bit bleak for me at first to be honest, but it did get better, so much better, actually.” I explained and Ryan snorted out a small chuckle.
“I can tell, your face tells it all.” He hummed and I rolled my eyes, reaching out to shove him a little. He barely flinghed, of course, prompting me into rolling my eyes and scoffing.
“Could have at least pretended to be a little bit moved by my push.” I pointed out and he laughed this time.
“Your hands are quite tiny, did you expect to actually be able to move me half an inch?” He demanded and I felt myself glaring at him almost immediately.
“Shut up.” I muttered but he only laughed, and then he reached out and placed his hand on the wall at the top of my head, prompting my mouth into falling open on a laugh, right before I glanced around to ensure that we aren’t currently being stared at.
“What are you doing?” I asked, and when Ryan arched a brow at me, I felt another giggle bubble out of my throat. Ryan was standing really close to me right now, and I was currently feeling a little bit closed in, in this position, which is making me feel a little bit flustered.
“I don’t think Luca would be pleased if he see us right now, cause he might you know? Get another impression.” I breathed out, and after a few more moments, Ryan slowly pulled away, cresting some distance between us once again.
“You’re right, ma’am. What was I thinking? I apologize.” He murmured and I rolled my eyes as I walked past him.
“Cut the crap.” I demanded, enjoying the sound of his vibrating laughter.
We continued to walk back to the house, earlier than we usually end our walks, because I didn’t want Luca to come home and catch Ryan and I like he did that day, even though Ryan and I hadn’t been doing anything bad.
“By the way, my birthday is around the corner!” I announced and after some back and forth, Ryan questioned.
“What do you want for your birthday?”
