Bombalicious continued fussing on Macy as he made sure that she was more than okay.
“From what young master told me, they called you late hoping that you wouldn’t make it or even embarrass yourself, right?” The drag queen asked Macy who was now sitting elegantly on the chair with her dress flowing everywhere.
She looked at Richard who pretended that he wasn’t there and was busy with Mel but he was keeping an eye and an ear on her at all times.
“Yeah… Yes. I guess that was the intention,” Macy answered and Bombalicious laughed.
“Don’t worry darling.
Here, my card.
Call me anytime of they dare pull that shit on you again.
In fact, I will be your personal beautician and designer from now on.
What do you say?” He asked Macy who stood in shock as she looked at the card he was holding.
Who was Bombalicious?
He was the god of designs and beauty in DC.
He was used by the qjo was who and rumour had it that he was so expensive that even some celebrities couldn’t afford him.
His Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages had so many followers that he was among the top followed in the country.
And now… Now…
“Are… Are you… Is this for real?” Macy asked as she looked at him both in doubt and hope.
“Of course. I like you and your skin and you are so easy to work on.
So, yes. I will be at your beck and call,” Bombalicious said and Macy took the card.
She was looking at his face imagining him taking back the card and laughing at her and telling her that he was just pulling her leg.
But he didn’t.
She was now holding the card on her hand and looked at it.
His full name and address and phone number.
“Wow! I… I can’t… Thank you.
Thank you Bomba,” I say she said calling him the name everyone in the industry called him.
Then she frowned and he noticed.
“What’s wrong?” Bomba asked her.
“But… You are so expensive and I… I am just a poor artist,” she said and he laughed.
“Don’t worry darling. Who would dare charge such a pretty face.
Tell you what, for you, I will always go at the market price,” he said and again, she was lost for words.
“I… I really… I don’t know what to say,” she said and then hugged him.
He hugged her back and Richard stood up.
“Time to go,” he said as he pulled Macy out of the hug.
“Don’t forget to call me any time,” Bombalicious said as he opened the van’s door.
“Go kill ’em,” Bomba told Macy who was standing there looking at Richard.
“Thank you. Thank you for…. Thank you,” she said for lack of better words to express how she was feeling.
“Now go. See you later.
Call us and we will pick you up,” Richard said and Mel held Macy’s hand.
“Dad, can I take mommy inside?
I will help her hold the train and I will be back,” Mel said and Richard hummed an agreement.
“See you Bomba, sir, bye,” she said and Richard glared when she called him sir but she was out by the time he wanted to speak.
Mel followed Macy holding the train of thought the dress as she praised Macy.
“Mama, you are beautiful.
I am sure that you will be the most gorgeous in there.
And don’t forget to tell them that you ah e a daughter and she loves you.
Also, don’t forget to call daddy and me when you are done.
Mama, don’t overwork yourself.
Come home early, okay?” She talked until they came to the lobby and Macy turned to look at her.
“Baby, now go back to daddy.
I will see you later and thank you for holding the train for me.
Love you,” Macy said as she squatted and hugged and kissed me.
“I love you too mama. Bye,” the little girl said then ran out back to the van.
Macy stood up and sighed.
She had so much to deal with and she didn’t even know where to start.
First, she wasn’t prepared for today.
Then, Richard and Mel have started calling her mama.
She didn’t know where that was headed but she sure wasn’t ready for it.
It was time she expedited her plan of getting out of that house.
But for the moment, she had to deal with some bitches who thought that they could have one on her.
Macy thought that things would change after Julia was arrested and they were given a new manager but it seemed that nothing was going to change.
It seemed that even this new one, Katina, had also been caught in Angela’s web of lies, manipulation and bribery.
But she also thanked her stars for it wasn’t going to be as Angela and the rest thought.
Macy could imagine the condescending look Angela was prepared to show her when they met and after she missed the press conference.
Macy was rhw second female lead in the movie and her role was pivotal because her character, had helped her land gain independence to a point she had been crowned as the new general of the army which didn’t go well with the queen.
Angela didn’t like the fact that Macy was an even better actress than her and her role was more important than hers.
When they were choosing the characters to play, as usual, Angela choose the queen because she knew a qieen would have authority and wear nice costumes and such.
Little did she know that the role of the queen was to antagonize the woman who was Helping the king fight for their independence.
How did Angela not know what her character entailed?
Because she never cared.
The company always chose the best roles for her and the roles where she would have a lot of screen time and this was the same.
She hadn’t even read the script or the story line she had been sent.
She waited for the last few days when all had been finalized to start familiarizing herself with the script before the workshop.
She knew she couldn’t go for the workshop without knowing anything about the general storyline at least.
By the time she was realizing that the queen wasn’t her usual characters whom the ausience easily sympathized with, it was too late and nothing could be done.
Yes, she would have more screen time but she would be hated.
This didn’t sit well with her.
That was why she had to make sure that Macy made a blunder and peolle hated her even before the movie was launched and premiere started.
She thus delayed Katina from telling Macy about the luncheon with the stakeholders and the press conference.
Thus, her seat would be empty anf the media would notice.
And when the media notices, they would write about how the second female lead, Macy Smith, didn’t care about the movie because use had already acted and paid.
Angela was ready with a water army to spread the gossip that Macy didn’t care about the movie and she only wanted money and fame.
Angela was seated on the chair labeled with her name with the make lead to her right and the chair next to the male lead on the other side was empty.
It had Macy’s name on it and Angela was smiling and she was apologizing to the Director of the movie who was asking where Macy was.
According to what he had seen with the girl during the shooting, she wasn’t the kind of a person who would just miss such an important event.
“Director, I am sorry but our manager called her and she said that she won’t make it.
She said that she is very tired from all the shooting and she just wants to rest.
I apologize on her behalf,” Angela said and the director sighed.
“She didn’t strike me as that kind of a girl.
She seemed sensible and responsible.
What a pity,” the man said and then turned to Angela.
“Now, of the main actresses you are the only one present.
You must work hard and maybe give an excuse in why she isn’t here.
Goodness! I wish someone would just get in touch with her even if it’s to get here late,” the director said and Angela smiled.
“Whatever you say director.
I will make sure to work hard,” Angela was winning and she was loving it.
They continued having small talk until everyone was seated and the director motioned foe the waiters and waitresses to start serving.
“Well, since everyone is here, shall we start?
Eat well since we will really get tired in the press conference.
And please, let’s do our best to hide the fact that one of the main leads isn’t here.
Enjoy your lunch and make merry,” he said and it was at that moment the door creaked open and Macy stood at the door familiarizing her eyes with the place and those at the table.
She then smiled and started walking down the small flight of stairs to the bug oval table that was at the center of the room where everyone was seated.
They all turned to look at her.
