Chapter Seventy-Six
Tristan’s POV:
“This ended sooner than I thought. He is such a chicken,” I thought after Molly saw him off.
When he saw all of us in one room, he acted like he had seen a ghost. I did not know if he was expecting to see Molly alone or wanted some privacy.
“Some dude you got there,” I said to Molly, impressed with my use of the human language.
“I like him though he looks nice and does not look like the type that would run away with your heart. I’m very happy for you, I only wish you the best and want for you to be happy.”
This made Molly smile, I knew how much those words meant to her.
“Dude, get yourself a girlfriend, you look too lonely,” Molly said and they all laughed at me.
You know I have the opportunity to get a girlfriend. That was something about this world, you could get almost any girl you want, there were too many free girls, but I was looking for true love, for genuine, love for the one that would make my heartbeat and for the one that takes my breath away, the one I cannot live without. This was what I hoped and longed for.
Molly must have forgotten to lock the door when she came in because someone had just pushed the door open without knocking and guess who it was.
It was no other than that guy, that same guy who was obsessed with Fiona, the one from the concert, the one from the mall, James.
“Shit,” was all I could mutter. This guy being here meant only one thing, trouble.
“Fiona? Thank God you are safe. I was beginning to wonder if something had happened to you. But why didn’t you come to me?
Did anything happen to you? What are you doing here? Are you hurt? Explain to me, Fiona.
What can I do to help? What do I have to do to help you through this and make all this go away? Amber told me some of the things that have tried to attack you.
I do not know what they are, but I promise you that I will be here through it all, I am not going anywhere, I am not leaving your side, I will not go until I know that you are safe.”
The only thing I could do was roll my eyes. This guy thinks we are here to play.
“Well, you are welcome to play, boy.”
Drew’s POV:
I must admit, Her Majesty was exceptional. I expected something very different: a proud, lousy, or perhaps spoiled princess.
But this princess, she was not so. She proved my beliefs wrong, the belief that all royalty carried their heads too high. For her, she was just like any of us.
I have not even talked at length with her yet, but I knew she was composed and well-mannered.
Maybe, just maybe Tristan was right all along. This mission was very important and if getting the princess back home was the last thing I did, I would gladly do it.
I fear for her though. How tough it was for me to go back to the life I once lived.
How much more she, going back to a life she barely even remembers. How did they hide her so well? These were questions that I needed to ask, and no one looked in the right frame of mind.
Veronica was only worried about Thomas, and Tristan looking out for any other creatures. The rest, as you know, would not help me with any answers.
Fiona’s POV:
Seeing James has brought more fear for me. I only want to find Thomas and some peace for myself. I did not want to involve anyone in my mess already, especially not James and Eleanor.
They have done so much and sacrificed too much for me already as friends. I would forever be plagued by guilt should anything at all happen to them because of me.
This is why I had convinced Eleanor to go back home, but with James, it is not so easy. He made himself my protector and guardian like I needed him to. Knowing him too well, it would be very hard to get him to go home.
He was not here for 1 hour, and I could already see the intense look passing between him and Tristan.
Like they hated each other, this was not something I could deal with, if only they would just be friends just this one time for this to work out and continue their enmity later.
Eleanor’s POV:
“Eleanor, dinner is ready,” mom shouted downstairs.
“I will be down soon,” I replied.
I was still shaken from what happened earlier and I did not have the mind to tell my mother so I better have to find my appetite else mom would make sure she had been talking before I went to bed.
I came down trying to look as calm and collected as possible, sat, and joined her to eat.
“Is this still about your fight with Fiona? What is it this time? What did you two fights about?” she asked.
Damn, mom must have seen the way I struggle to eat my food. Honestly, it was hard to even swallow the food, but I kept on trying to not look bothered.
“I am okay, mom. We will sort it out, I am just worrying about it too much,” I said trying to get her off my case.
Veronica’s POV:
With every passing minute, it was like I lived in torture. I was not comfortable, I could not sit, I could not eat, I could not sleep. It was even worse knowing I was doing nothing about it.
Each second, I wondered where my Thomas was, what he ate, how he looked, if he was well taken care of.
The day was almost over and no plans from anyone yet. All we had were some uninvited and surprise guests coming in and out.
It would not be very long before the demons found us out again, we had to do something now before it was too late.
Seeing that bringing the police on this would be a bad idea, there was only one thing left to do: call for help from Harrington.
I never knew a time would come when I would so shamefully call him back to ask for help, but this was what I had to do now. There was no time to think or waste anymore.
“I think there is something we can do,” I blurted out and every eye was turned to me, expecting.
