Both Theressa and Mary had sprang up to their feet. Kayden had rushed to them. His features contorted with a mixture of concern and urgency, eyes widen with alarm. Theressa’s hand instinctively pulled out a gun from her purse, adrenaline rushing through her veins.
“We need to take you to safety. One of the boss’s enemies found out your whereabouts”. Mary wasn’t panicking but she felt shivers run down her spine, goosebumps portraying on her skin, while Theressa felt her heart was out of her chest, she was in no way prepared for an attack, she had herself loaded with weapons and bodyguards, but how could they find her so quick? It’s like the minute she’s out of Marcelo’s space, she’s out to be fired.
However before anyone could take a step, the owners of the gun shot had surrounded them, they were so much that Theressa couldn’t bring herself to begin counting. She had quickly recognized one of them, he was one of Mr Olivia’s men, his face was a unique one, with a snake tattoo that covered half of his face.
Kayden and the other bodyguards had surrounded Theressa and her mother with their guns and weapons pointed at their enemies.
“We just need the girl, we won’t cause any trouble if you hand her over” The tattooed face man was the one to speak, his lips stretched into a smirk that creeped Theressa out. She wanted to fire her gun straight to his head, he disgusted her with just his every expression, hearing him speak ignited more disgust mixed with annoyance.
However she couldn’t afford to make rash decisions not when her mother is right behind her, she has to protect her mother. She was before Mary like an armor, like she would rather drop dead than allow anyone get to her
“Resa?” Mary whispered behind her and even though Theressa’s gaze was fixed on the tattooed man, she got closer to her mum to hear what she had to say.
“Let me have a gun, ” Mary asked and Theressa was beyond confusion at her mother’s request. She was yet to master handling such a dangerous weapon yet her mother wanted to use it.
“I’ll take care of this mother, just stay behind me” Theressa whispered back to her mother.
“Enough with the talks, the clock is ticking, we have no time for chitchats” The tattooed man had begun to walk closer and closer and closer till Kayden’s gun was pointing directly at his head.
“Let her go,” he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt as he locked eyes with Kayden, who remained unmoved by his words. There was a dangerous edge to his tone, a simmering anger barely contained beneath the surface.
His eyes blazed with malice, daring Kayden to defy him, to challenge his authority. But Kayden stood firm, a silent defiance that only fueled the villain’s rage further.
“Are you deaf or just plain stupid?” he spat, his words laced with venom as he took a menacing step closer. His fists clenched at his sides, trembling with the desire to strike out, to assert his dominance over Kayden and anyone else who dared to stand in his way.
But Kayden remained stoic, his unwavering gaze a silent challenge to the villain’s authority.
“Get away from him” A low, guttural growl from Theressa’s side rumbled forth, cutting through the tension like a knife through butter. With measured steps, he advanced towards the tattooed man, his gun held with steady precision, the barrel pointed directly at the threat before them. His eyes blazed with an unwavering determination, a silent warning to anyone who dared to threaten Kayden, he clearly was also protecting Theressa, it was his job but a gun pointed at Kayden had pushed him. Kayden had made a reaction, he swallowed, Kayden swallowed.
“If that’s what you want” He smirked, taking slow steps backward, hands up every thing switched up so quickly, Teddy’s gun flying out of his hand as the tattooed man had kicked his hand, landing a punch on his face and before Kayden could make a move, a sharp knife had sliced across his arm causing him to wince as blood dripped down, he didn’t waste time on dwelling on the pain as he threw kicks and punches, ignoring the pain that shot through his arm. Mr Olivia’s men were swimming in. And Theressa couldn’t stand still. “Resa trust me and pass the gun” Theressa wasn’t sure about her mother’s demand but the gun seemed useless in her hand and she had to pull out a knife, during the training she had realized how good she was with knives, she had even almost slit through Marcelo’s throat during one of the training.
Theressa wasted no more time as she threw her mother the gun. This was a new side of Mary, her eyes, stance, everything was different from the mother Theressa has always known.
“Head back to the car, I’ll cover up for you” Mary yelled as she shot the leg of a man right on top of Kayden. Kayden had gotten to his feet immediately swinging kicks and punches at the men that swarm his way. Teddy seemed to be doing badly too, but still he and Kayden had made their way to fight side by side, the other body guards were all bloody but they never stopped fighting they never stopped shooting.
“But we can’t leave them” Theressa yelled back
And Mary seemed pissed off by her daughter’s words, losing her patience she uttered as she shot another man. “They would be fine, you are their target so I have to get you to safety. NOW!” Mary yelled as she pushed her daughter forward, shooting anyone that came close to them, their heads were bent yet high and alert avoiding gunshots but yet not letting anyone slip past them. Theressa herself wasn’t idle as much as her mother was good, some still managed to slip past her and Theressa had to exert her training, her muscles flexing as she swirled, jumped, kicked and slit their throat not hesitating to spill any blood. She had torn open her dress creating a slit that enabled her to defend herself.
For some reason Theressa wasn’t scared, it was her first kill, first time killing people but she was in no way panicking.
Mary was kicked to the ground a knife aimed to stab her abdomen and Theressa took no time to think as she swirled a leg in the air kicking the man’s jaw giving Mary the chance to blow off his brain out as the bullet fired, penetrating through his head.
Theressa and Mary went on with their running, heading for the car. They were close, both close to the red car at the drive way so close,
So close, so close.
Theressa was breathing hard, she could feel her heart beating against her chest but her legs did not stop. Mary and Theressa were distant from where the fight had begun and a little hope sparked within Theressa as they finally reached the car.
However, a gun shut sounded behind them. It was so close, she thought she had been shot somewhere. Mary had stepped in front of her daughter, her features clenched as she pointed the gun at the tattooed man; he wasn’t alone; he had his partners with him, lots of partners and Theressa could only think of how to save her mother and herself.
A smirk grew on his lips as his gaze fixed on Mary’s.
“No one takes my daughter” Mary uttered, her tone firm, her eyes a mirror of raging fire.
He scoffed, ignoring Mary’s words as he signaled his men to attack.
Mary had tried to let out a bullet but she was out of it, the bullets leaving mother and daughter helpless. Both mother and daughter swallowed as their eyes never swayed from the enemy in front of them.
However, before either of the two could make a move Mr Olivia’s men had begun to drop dead in front of them, one by one, they fell to their feet.
Everyone had suddenly turned to the figure before them, fearless, brutal. His gaze had wavered to Theressa and Theressa couldn’t help but let out a breath of relief.
Marcelo is here
Marcelo had come to save her.
