There he stood the needle that would cause Marcelo to burst.
It was Marcelo’s engagement party and Theressa had adhered to Anne’s suggestion.
The male beamed at her stretching forth his hand to lead her into the BMX3 car. Theressa’s heart bubbled with excitement, this man was the perfect needle she needed.
Tall, muscular, pale skin, long dark brown hair that cascaded down the nape of his neck with a natural grace, the rich hue of his deep chestnut brown hair catching the light and casting a mesmerizing sheen, despite its length, his hair exuded a sense of refinement complimenting his overall appearance with a touch of rugged elegance. His hair swept back possessing a captivating charm that would definitely draw attention.
His dressing style was lit, white tux with red rose plastered in a pocket giving his body a classy and elegant appearance.
“Thank you” Theressa muttered with a small smile lingering on her lips as she got inside the car.
Theressa could definitely understand why he was always booked. “He definitely will do a great job today” Theressa thought.
“I’m Theressa Taylor” Theressa began, a wide smile on her face like she had just hit a jackpot.
“I’m Joe, Joe Wilson” He brought out his hand for a shake as he returned the smile.
“How could a man with eyes leave such a beautiful lady for another? ” Joe stated, his hands massaging Theressa the back of Theressa’s palm.
Theressa wanted to take it as a mere compliment but something itched at her at the back of her mind, something negative. She forced her hand out of his, her smile now a nervous one, hoping things goes as planned and the tables don’t turn against her.
They both walked inside the enigmatic hall holding hands like a real couple as they found a spot to seat.
The party was definitely not just for anyone, it was an elite party, everyone that sat in the luxurious hall were high society members.
And Theressa couldn’t help but feel intimidated.
The party had begun, someone was already on the stage. Joe had reached out to Theressa, his hands reaching her face as he gently stroked her cheek as if wiping something off.
Theressa blushed as she whispered “thank you” the two went on in their little world forgetting the pair of eyes staring daggers at them, if eyes could kill Joe would have been dead the minute he walked inside the hall with Theressa’s hand in his. But Theressa didn’t notice.
An arm wrapped around Theressa’s shoulder, causing Theressa to jerk in shock.
“Woah, what’s with the shock?” George questioned the usual wide smile that beautified face.
“Sorry just wasn’t expecting you” Theressa apologized, letting out a nervous laughter, she wasn’t expecting another person to approach her aside…
“Hello” Joe greeted, a small smile on his lips as he stretched forward his hand for a shake.
“Your boyfriend?” George asked Theressa, eyes on Joe as he shook hands with him.
George wasn’t the main target so she didn’t see any reason to lie to him.
However, before she could voice out the words she had settled on responding to George’s question, Joe had beaten her to it.
“Yes, we are a couple,” Joe stated.
Theressa deadpanned, Joe probably thought this was the guy they were to burst his bubble.
“Oh so sad, would have asked you for a dance” George stated, lips curved downward and Theressa couldn’t help but feel sorry for ruining a nice man’s plan.
“It’s cool though, you guys have a great night” George stated as he bade the two goodbye.
As George walked away, Theressa turned to glare at Joe’s
“He’s-”
“He’s not the one, I know, ” Joe interrupted and Theressa looked taken aback with her brow furrowed.
“But if you want to get to the man you are pursuing then you have to make everyone believe you are with me” Joe continued.
“News spread, if you had him we are not a couple, what would he tell the rest?” Joe questioned. His points hit at facts and Theressa felt stupid.
She wasn’t thinking at all. She sipped on her drink before clearing her throat.
Her phone vibrated on the designed table and Theressa thought it was a message from her mother until she saw the ID. Marcelo.
“I told you to not come”. Theressa rolled her eyes, locking the phone inside her chanel purse.
Her eyes scanned the room until landed in a pair of cold ones, his jaw tightened as he glared at her.
“He texted you” Joe stated from beside Theressa pulling back her attention to the table.
“And he’s still texting” Theressa smirked as her phone viberated in her pause. She pulled out her phone, switching it off as she got one last glance at Marcelo, Pillar seemed to be wondering what was taking a fiancé’s attention and so she turned her gaze away from him, starting up a conversation with Joe.
Not too long, two glasses of an alcoholic drink were delivered to Theressa and Joe, they looked at each other, confused “We didn’t order this,” Joe stated.
“I was told to bring this to your table” The male stated.
Theressa couldn’t keep the boy standing, knowing he had other people to serve.
“Thank you” she shot him a smile as he dropped the glass on the table.
“And this is for you” the boy handed over a neatly folded paper to Theressa before walking away.
She carefully unfolded the paper as she read the context.
“Meet me outside” Theressa rolled her eyes, squeezing the paper as dipped it into the glass of alcohol they had just delivered.
Marcelo wasn’t on his seat, he was probably out waiting for Theressa.
“You’re different ” Joe stated.
“How?”
“I’ve worked with a lot of women but they were never this fierce, they would have given in to the other or fallen for me by now” Joe winked.
Theressa scoffed, rolling her eyes.
“Oh yeah? tell me more about the ones that fell for you” Theressa requested resting her chin on her hand.
“Why? you want to try, not falling for me?” Joe teased causing Theressa to let out a laugh.
“You wish, now go on”
They both got into their own world. Theressa had totally forgotten about Marcelo waiting as she had begun to enjoy Joe’s company.
