After attending the meeting, Darwin hurried back to the office. Together with his team, he evaluated today’s presentations. Additionally, at Randy’s initiative, Rama, who had already finished his work, was asked to join Darwin at the office.
Upon arrival, Rama was immediately asked by Randy to help Darwin prepare the materials for the presentation in two days.
“Congratulations, Win. I know you have a natural talent for this,” Rama said sincerely.
“It’s also thanks to your guidance and help. Without all of you, Infinix Group wouldn’t have made it today.”
“So…” Rama continued. “What else can I do to assist you?”
“You can help Darwin prepare accurate materials for the final presentation, Ram,” Randy added. “Who knows, you might have some strategies that Darwin can use in the final selection.”
Rama promptly sat down, grabbed a pen and paper, and began jotting down important points for Darwin to use in the next meeting. He explained and elaborated on various tricks and strategies that Darwin could follow.
Around eight in the evening, Darwin and his cousins finally finished their discussion. Rama excused himself and left early, while Randy had to wait for Darwin to leave together.
“Ran, can you drop me off somewhere?” Darwin asked.
Randy, who was focused on driving, turned to look at him, his face questioning.
“Where do you need to go?”
“To Veronica’s parents’ house,” Darwin replied confidently.
“To Mr. Darius’s house?”
“Yes, Ran. Take me there right now.”
“But what for? Aren’t you afraid of getting kicked out?”
Darwin shook his head.
“Don’t worry. Papa Darius isn’t home. He and his wife are attending an event out of town.”
“How do you know that?”
“Earlier, before we left, my dad called. It turns out he’s also attending the same event. He told me that Papa Darius is there. And I’m sure the event will last a while. So, I have a chance to meet Veronica.”
“The problem is, there are a lot of people at Veronica’s house, Win. Are you sure they’ll allow it?”
Randy looked skeptical. He knew that Damian Ashborne’s house was always tightly guarded at all times. It wasn’t easy to just waltz in.
“Don’t worry. I can get in easily. Besides, I know the head of security there very well.”
Randy complied. He didn’t want to argue with Darwin at this point. He was already tired from spending the day with his cousin. Besides, he had a habit of going along with Darwin’s orders.
Upon arriving at Veronica’s residence, Darwin immediately got out of the car. Meanwhile, Randy chose to park the car a little farther away to avoid suspicion in case Darius suddenly returned home.
Darwin went straight to the security chief, whom he knew well. As he suspected, with just a little money, he was eventually allowed in without any obstacles.
Meanwhile, Veronica, who had just finished cleaning up in her room, decided to climb into bed right away. But before she could even lie down, she faintly heard someone knocking on her bedroom door repeatedly. She had no choice but to get up. She took light steps and, without any suspicion, opened the door.
“Darling.”
The moment she heard that call, Veronica’s eyes widened. When she opened the door, she found Darwin standing there.
Not only that, Darwin even took a step forward and immediately covered Veronica’s mouth with his hand, gently pushing her inside until her body leaned against the wall.
“Darwin, are you out of your mind?” Veronica exclaimed as Darwin slowly released his grip on her mouth.
“I am crazy, Ve! I’m crazy because I haven’t seen you for days. Don’t you miss me at all?”
Veronica sighed lazily. Although she felt the same way, she was too lazy to admit it.
“If Papa finds out you’re here, you’ll be in trouble, Win.”
“I don’t care, Ve!”
“Okay, fine,” Veronica replied afterward. “So what do you want? Is there something you want to talk about?”
Darwin nodded.
“There’s something I want to talk about, and there’s something I need to do.”
“What else do you want to say?”
“About Sean,” Darwin said with a hint of displeasure. “You know what? I hated seeing you so close to Sean this afternoon. You looked so happy that he passed the selection. Meanwhile, right in front of you, there’s me, your husband, who also needs congratulations from his own wife.”
Veronica frowned. It seemed Darwin wanted to convey his jealousy to her on this night.
“Congratulations on your success today. I hope, in the next two days, you can achieve the same success easily,” Veronica sincerely said.
“Is that all you have to say?”
This time, it was Darwin who sighed. He reached for Veronica’s face and, without hesitation, landed a kiss on lips he hadn’t touched in a long time. He kissed her passionately, deeply, and without restraint. Veronica herself was overwhelmed by what Darwin was doing to her.
When Veronica began to run out of breath, Darwin slowly released their kiss.
“I miss you, Ve. I miss you so much. When can we be together again?”
Veronica took several deep breaths. She looked into Darwin’s eyes and shook her head.
“You decide when we can be together again like before.”
“I’ll do anything. I promise I’ll come to get you soon.”
“Yes,” Veronica nodded. “I’ll wait for you to come and get me. Now, you need to leave quickly. If Papa comes home and sees you here, it will be a disaster.”
Darwin nodded. He leaned in, kissed Veronica’s cheek and forehead alternately. Before leaving, he even hugged his wife for a moment, as if reluctant to leave. Once satisfied, he walked toward the door.
However, instead of leaving, Darwin locked the door. He turned around, then pulled Veronica to step together toward the bed.
“Win, what are you doing?” Veronica asked with a slightly panicked expression. She couldn’t read what her husband was going to do next.
“Since I’m here, there’s no harm in doing something else,” he said.
“What do you mean?”
Darwin didn’t answer immediately. Grinning, he gently pushed Veronica until she was lying on the bed. Quickly, Darwin lay on top of Veronica, holding her hands, and then whispered with a smile.
“I’ve decided to make you pregnant first. Anyway, it has to work tonight.”
