After a seven-hour flight, Erwin and Velove finally made it without any trouble. They arrived in Jakarta right at 8:30 PM.
Being picked up by a driver, they headed straight home. While Erwin freshened up, Velove decided to tidy up some of the items in their suitcases and then moved them into the closet. She was the type of woman who couldn’t sleep if she saw the room still in a messy state.
“I’m done. Now, you can take a shower,” Erwin suggested as he walked out of the bathroom.
“Yeah, just a moment. Almost done. I want to organize your clean clothes first.”
“It’s okay, it’s easy. I’ll take care of the rest later.”
Erwin couldn’t possibly forget Velove’s complaints and nagging throughout the journey back. Although Velove had taken a shower before heading to the airport earlier that day, she still felt sticky. Moreover, Erwin knew very well that his wife couldn’t sleep unless she cleaned herself up first.
“I can’t believe you’ll be the one organizing it. It’ll probably end up even messier.”
“Just talking nonsense. Do you really think I can’t organize clothes in the closet?”
Velove squinted her eyes. From her facial expression, it was clear that she doubted what Erwin had said earlier. Moreover, there was no history of men being able to neatly put clothes or items in the closet.
“Just by looking at your face, it’s so hard for me to believe,” Velove honestly said. During this time, it had always been the housekeeper Erwin assigned who had been organizing his closet.
“Oh my God, seriously. You’re so unbelieving. Organizing clothes isn’t as difficult as building a thousand temples in one night, Ve. If you don’t believe me, after you finish showering, check it for yourself. If you still think my closet is a mess, I’ll treat you to ice cream and sushi for a week.”
“Deal!” Velove quickly responded without thinking twice. If Erwin were to lose, it was easy to imagine how full she would be for a whole week with him treating her. “I’ll take a quick shower. Just watch out if things aren’t neat when I’m done.”
Erwin just nodded. After drying his hair, he headed to the walk-in closet. Luckily, he had brought only a few clothes and items, so there wasn’t much to organize and tidy.
Once he finished what was assigned to him, Erwin decided to go to the bed. Before fully lying down, he chose to sit and read the report his secretary had sent him earlier in the evening.
In the midst of his activity, Erwin clearly heard Velove’s steps coming out of the bathroom. From the corner of his eye, he could see her heading towards the walk-in closet. She probably wanted to check and make sure that what he had done matched her expectations.
“Ah… so I won’t be treated to ice cream and sushi,” Velove joked from within the walk-in closet. She spent about five minutes there, making sure that the items Erwin had organized and tidied were in the closet.
“And I thought you were going to arrange the clothes haphazardly,” Velove continued as she walked out towards the bed.
“I already said, if it’s just arranging clothes, I can do that too, Ve. It’s an easy task,” Erwin replied without diverting his gaze from the tablet he held.
Velove nodded. She grabbed a glass of milk from the nightstand and circled the bed before approaching Erwin. Handing him the glass she held, she asked her husband to drink it quickly.
“Okay, go ahead and drink your milk first. Then sleep. Don’t forget that you have to wake up early and get ready for work tomorrow.”
Erwin immediately turned off the tablet in his hand. As he looked up, intending to accept the glass that Velove was offering, he was surprised and startled.
“Velove! Why are you wearing such revealing sleepwear?”
Erwin immediately protested. He hadn’t forgotten that the nightgown Velove was wearing was a black satin lingerie that Randa had given them when they had just arrived in Korea a few days earlier.
Whether intentionally teasing or not, what was certain was that Erwin could see how Velove stood confidently and carefree in front of him. Very different from himself, who had to make an effort to resist being tempted.
“What’s the matter?” Velove asked with a puzzled expression. She even casually sat down right next to Erwin.
“Why are you asking back? Why are you wearing sleepwear like this?”
“It’s not a big deal. I just wanted to try it,” Velove answered casually.
“You might catch a cold, Ve. Look, the sleepwear is open like that.”
Velove shook her head. She didn’t care at all about the protests Erwin had been voicing.
“I won’t catch a cold, Win. This is Indonesia, not Korea. Since it’s really hot today, I thought I’d wear this lingerie. Besides, even if I didn’t wear anything, you wouldn’t be interested or tempted, would you?”
Erwin sighed deeply. Velove’s behavior was making him increasingly frustrated. Erwin had tried multiple times to avoid awkward moments like this.
“Anyone, if treated this way continuously, could eventually be tempted,” Erwin retorted with an annoyed facial expression. He was silent for a few seconds. Velove could see Erwin repeatedly taking deep breaths, and shortly after, he continued speaking, “But this is still excessive, Ve. If you really feel hot, why don’t you just lower the AC temperature in the room? Plus, there are many sleepwear outfits in your closet that are much better than this one. Why choose the-”
In reality, Erwin’s long complaint wasn’t finished. Unexpectedly and without calculation, Velove suddenly silenced Erwin’s lips with a passionate kiss. Eliminating all readiness and leaving a surprised expression clearly carved on the handsome face of the man.
Although taken aback, Erwin chose to remain silent for a moment. He didn’t reject or respond. He just felt as Velove kissed and caressed his lips softly.
However, it didn’t last long. Eventually, Erwin began to respond and gradually matched her pace. Bringing his hands, he cupped Velove’s cheeks just as gently. Returning the kiss passionately while tasting all the emotions that arose.
For a brief moment, the two of them seemed to enjoy their first kiss. Even slowly, Erwin guided Velove to rest her head on the pillow right behind her.
Still caught up in the kissing, Velove used her hands to gently caress Erwin’s chest from the outside. As she became more entranced, Velove attempted to unbutton the pajama that Erwin was wearing.
Not surrendering, Erwin waved Velove’s hand away that moment. He released their lip lock and then looked into the woman’s eyes in front of him.
“Don’t go too far, Ve,” Erwin shook his head, still catching his breath. Velove could even clearly see how many times he sighed heavily. His pained gaze was difficult to decipher.
“Why, Win? Don’t you really want to touch me?”
Erwin shook his head. In a hushed tone, he replied softly.
“I’m sorry… but I really can’t do that.”
Velove pursed her lips tightly. A sense of embarrassment rushed over her because she had clearly been the one to tease first, even assuming that Erwin would reciprocate what she did.
“Am I not worth more than your ex?”
“Ve… that’s not what I meant. And, please. Let’s not talk about it, Vicky.”
Frustrated with Erwin’s response that once again refused her, Velove then pushed Erwin’s body away to create some distance. She rose quickly, getting ready to leave.
“Velove, where are you going?” Erwin tried to stop her as he saw his wife about to leave the room.
Velove seemed indifferent. Instead of responding, she continued walking towards the door. She slammed it shut loudly and then chose to go to the room she had previously occupied. She made sure to lock the door tightly, ignoring Erwin’s knocks and calls. She was too upset with what her husband had done tonight.
