~Zion’s POV~
I could tell that Lady Archer was very pissed. All hell breaks loose.
“Is it because the magnificent Lord Archer is present and shouldn’t be privy to your lovely daughter’s actions and reactions? Didn’t you wish to sully my reputation in front of him? I’m simply stating the obvious here, I guess. Oh my!” Her tiny hand flew to grasp her mouth. Then she laughed and continued, “You didn’t want Lord Archer to find out how out of control your daughter can be. Regrettably, she began berating me as soon as I was seated at this table.”
Heck! My father is going to like Maya. She is just like my mother and her mom. My mom never took shit from anyone.
“Maya, we are a family. That is something you should not do to your sister.” Mariam Jones made the statement. My wife then broke into a laugh.
“Family? Are you certain you’re going to put on that face, Mariam? That face is unsuitable for you. Simply restore your lioness’ face. It is more suitable for you. Nobody at this table should ever begin blubbering in front of me about family. You sat here and pretended to be pious in the presence of your guest. Don’t try that nonsense with me.”
“The food is getting cold. Let us now dine.” Robert Jones got the ball rolling.
I placed my hand on Maya’s. Her hand was trembling, most likely in rage. I stroked her palm and immediately felt her relax. My sight shifted to meet hers, and our gazes met. As though we were the only ones seated at the table. My mind strayed, and all I could think about at the moment was feasting on her on this table. To be honest, I do not blame my thoughts. I’m blaming my wife for disciplining me in the car. My cock is still in desperate need of a release. Once someone cleared their throat, my wife and I immediately turned our heads to face the remainder of the individuals seated around us.
Why didn’t we eat at home again? Because I am so sure that if we were home, I could have feasted on her on top of our table.
They were all staring at us. Who the heck gives a fuck? However, why is Maya withholding information about her true identity as Lady Archer? What am I trying to convey? I was certain she would not inform them. Perhaps she will, or perhaps I should inform them. I put that notion aside and began selecting food for my wife’s plate and arranging it on her plate accordingly.
“What is your relationship with my daughter, Maya?”
She’s my wife.
That was something I said to myself in the back of my mind. I knew better. This family was required to make restitution. Particularly this gentleman. I cleared my throat and began to speak.
“Someone precious to me, someone for whom I would lay down my life, someone whom I wish to keep for the remainder of my years.”
“You know, Maya returned one day and informed us that she was married, despite the fact that none of us had ever met her husband. Thus, Ivy is unmarried. It would be ideal if Lord Archer had Ivy instead of a married woman.”
The audacity of this man!
“Regrettably, I find your other daughter unappealing. She is not the type of woman I am looking for. There are numerous factors that I consider when choosing a woman, and I just do not see any of them in her. To put it succinctly, I don’t like your daughter at all.”
I saw Mariam hurling daggers at me, but what difference does it make? I desire that her husband suffers. They initially believed Maya was alone. They were unaware that she had a family seeking her for years. Oh, my! How patiently my father has been waiting for me to inform him that I have located her. Anyhow, I’d like to take him completely by surprise!
“What is it that you dislike about me, Lord Archer? I am more beautiful than Maya. I dress stylishly. I doubt if she can even afford anything expensive.”
“What is your name again?” I inquired. She had begun to grate on my nerves.
“Ivy.”
“Ivy, what Lady Maya is wearing is worth more than the value of your entire wardrobe put together!
