“What’s wrong with you?” Laura looked at Shane, pretending to be scared of something.
After a while, she said, “You’re from the same company as Clara, right?”
Laura asked affirmatively. Looking at her innocent teary eyes, Shane swallowed his saliva.
He didn’t know why Laura asked about Clara. Maybe she knew Clara? That would be nice.
Just as Shane was excited about it, he heard Laura’s snarl. “Did you see how I look now? It’s all Clara Hutchinson’s fault.”
Hearing this, Shane was stunned.
Clara’s fault? Why?
Shane took a closer look at Laura, feeling that she didn’t have any reasons to deceive him.
“What’s wrong?” Shane asked. Then Laura told him the story that she had told Helena.
Hearing the story, Shane felt a little sad.
He couldn’t believe that Clara, whom he had admired, was such a vicious person. He felt sad for having liked someone who didn’t worth it.
He believed that all the kindness Clara had displayed these days were fake. He felt stupid.
The more Shane thought about it, the angrier he became, and then he looked up at Laura, his eyes full of hate. Laura smiled secretly when she saw this.
It seemed that Shane could be helpful if she cultivated him carefully.
“So, why did you tell me all of this?” Shane knew things about Clara.
But what did the woman in front of him want?
“Actually… I’ve always liked you. I just don’t want you to be fooled.” When Laura said this, her face immediately turned red.
Shane was turned on when he saw Laura’s blush.
He was good-looking, yet for reasons that he didn’t know, no girls pursued him.
The woman in front of her was the first person who confessed to him. And she was beautiful.
Shane immediately had feelings for Laura, wanting to take care of her.
“Okay, I get it. Thanks. May I know your name?” Having talked for so long, Shane still didn’t know what the woman’s name was.
“Laura Hutchinson.”
“Shane Doyle”
“Well, it’s getting late. Go home now.”
“Don’t you want take revenge on Clara? She has deceived you.”
Laura felt that the boy in front of her was a little soft-hearted. He had no reaction after knowing how he had been treated.
“What do you want to do?” Shane was sure to do something. Yet he also wanted to know what will Laura do.
“My plan is to kidnap her son for a few days to make her panic. We won’t hurt her son, of course. It’s just to teach Clara a lesson.”
Laura knew that Shane wasn’t cruel enough to hurt people. So, she lied to him.
After all, Shane worked with Clara. He had enough chances.
“Okay.” Shane nodded. He grabbed a taxi for Laura before returning home.
On the way, Shane kept thinking about the kiss Laura gave herself when she got in the car. It was enchanting.
Now, Shane needed to get Clara’s son out first.
However, Shane had not met Clara’s son, so they needed a plan.
Soon, Laura sent Shane the plan through the phone, telling him exactly what to do.
Shane found it a cool plan. In this way, they could take Clara’s son away without being noticed.
He started to admire Laura for her intelligence.
Part of the reason that Shane found Laura’s plan cool was that he was too inexperienced and gullible.
The next morning, Clara greeted Leilah as usual and then to Shane, the newcomer.
“Ms. Hutchinson, good morning.” Shane smiled as if he had forgotten the thing that happened last night.
“Morning.” Clara nodded and went to work.
People in the company would start to work immediately when they arrived at the office, no matter at which hour.
It had become a habit. In their cognition, when they entered the company, work began.
Shane became familiar with the job at hand and stopped asking Clara questions. Clara could focus on her own work now.
After lunch, Clara and Leilah were chatting.
“How is the thing between you and Logan?” In Clara’s mind, Logan didn’t know how to please girls.
“Your brother is fine. Don’t worry.”
As soon as Leilah heard the name Logan, she immediately smiled happily.
This reminded Clara of when she heard Horace’s name in the past. She had the same reaction.
Clara prayed in her heart for her brother and Leilah, hoping they could be together so everyone would be happy.
“That couldn’t be better. I’m waiting for your wedding.” Clara teased. Leilah blushed.
One afternoon, when they got off work, Leilah asked Clara to give her a ride. She needed to tutor Neo today.
“Okay.” Clara nodded, so she brought Leilah home with her.
“Ms. Hutchinson, Leilah, are you talking about Neo?” Shane knew that Clara’s son was Neo.
They worked in the same office, so naturally he knew who Neo was.
“Yes.” Leilah nodded, wondering what Shane wanted to do.
Leilah didn’t have much interaction with Shane although both were mentored by Clara. For some reason, Leilah didn’t like Shane very much.
“Would you mind if I go visit Neo?”
Shane felt he must take this opportunity. Otherwise, he didn’t know how to carry out Laura’s plan.
He met with Laura again the other day. Laura was dressed up beautifully, looking completely different from the day when they first met.
Shane’s heart raced looking at Laura.
