“What are you thinking about?” After a long time, Horace came out.
“Logan is dating Leilah,” Clara told Horace. Horace just nodded. It was no surprise to him.
They were the same kind of people, their personalities matched. And Clara was favorable of their relationship.
The most important thing was that Logan and Leilah liked each other.
It was always easier for girls to pursue boys. So, Leilah took down Logan without much labor.
“Shall I call Leilah ‘sister’ the next time I see her?” Clara was kind of puzzled about how to address her.
She felt that calling Leilah by name was not respectful enough, but it was weird to call her that.
Before Leilah and Logan dated, Clara was bothered about how to get them together.
And now they were together, Clara started to worry about how to address Leilah.
Horace had no idea what was in Clara’s mind sometimes.
“Call her the way you want.”
Was that even a question?
Women had so many questions.
Horace couldn’t get it. But those questions were normal for girls.
“Alright, I’ll still call her Leilah then.”
It felt less weird.
She would think about the question after Logan and Leilah got married.
Clara finally finished racking her brain.
Horace’s nightlife began.
When they were both very excited, Horace said, “Role play.”
Clara left Horace’s arms immediately. She put the blanket between her legs and went to sleep.
Horace shook his head helplessly. Looking at Clara, who had fallen asleep. He asked himself, “How can I get her in uniforms?”
The next morning. When Clara got out of bed, Horace had left for work. Clara asked for a one-week leave. She can still chill for a while.
Neo was already up when Clara went down. “Mom, it’s time for breakfast.”
He ran over and grabbed Clara’s hand, leading her to the dining table.
Horace asked Neo to make Clara eat when he woke up in the morning, Neo didn’t dare to slack off.
“Okay, let me try.” Clara started eating.
Clara wondered if she should bring some supplements. After all, Helena was a patient.
She decided that she should. So, Clara and Neo went to the pharmacy and bought some supplements before going to the nursing home. This time Clara drove, so they had nothing to worried about.
“Mom, which grandma are we going to see?” Neo only remembered that he had a great grandfather. He had no impression of a grandma.
In fact, Neo had met in the hospital, but he didn’t say it.
“She is in poor health and has just been discharged from the hospital.” Clara briefly described Helena’s condition, meaning to tell Neo that he must behave later.
“Okay.” Neo nodded, carefully watching the cars coming and going outside.
Neo liked sitting in a car. He liked the quiet and bumpy feeling when the car was moving.
And because Clara drove, it can be a little faster than a taxi.
Getting out of the car, Clara took Neo into the nursing home with supplements.
Helena was lying on the bed with her eyes open and thinking about something when Clara arrived.
“Clara, here you are. This is?”
Neo was standing beside Clara and Helena didn’t see him at first. Helena asked Clara who the boy was although she had an assumption.
“Neo, say hello to grandma.” Clara introduced Helena to Neo.
“Hello, grandma, I’m Neo, Neo Kirkland.” Neo introduced himself. He specially mentioned his surname, in case Helena didn’t know who he was.
“Oh, the son of you and Horace?” Helena was surprised to see that Neo had become a big boy.
And he looked like a promising kid.
“Yeah.” Clara nodded, then asked Neo to sit down on the sofa.
“I brought you some supplements, where shall I put them?” Clara looked at the room, but couldn’t find a place.
She saw the pink bed where Laura slept.
Now that Laura was gone, Clara put them on the pink bed. Helena watched Clara’s movements. She didn’t speak until Clara sat down on the sofa.
They talked about the past, and Helena expressed regret. She apologized for not having taken good care of Clara and cared too little about Clara’s feelings at the time.
Clara listened and just said, “Let bygones be bygones.”
Clara didn’t care that much about the past. What mattered was the way Helena treated her now.
Helena was very happy seeing that Clara wasn’t mad at her.
From Clara’s words and eyes, Helena knew that Clara had forgiven her. Just as she was chatting with Clara, something came to her mind. It was dark that night, and the lights in the room were turned off. She heard someone walk into her room.
Helena didn’t believe in ghosts. Someone must have entered. The first person she thought of was Laura. Laura hadn’t come back since she left that day. Helena had been worried, and Laura came back.
Laura turned on the light, which dazzled Helena’s eyes. She heard Laura’s voice.
“Mom, mom.”
Helena tried her best to open her eyes and looked at the person in front of her. It was Laura.
“Laura, it’s really you.” Helena opened her eyes and looked at Laura, her face full of surprise.
She thought that Laura didn’t like this place. She had never expected Laura to be bac.
“Yes. I didn’t leave, I was framed by Clara.” Laura’s fierce eyes frightened Helena. What did Clara do to make Laura hate her so much?
Helena asked, Laura told her the story she made up.
“That’s it, I was almost killed by their hidden bomb. But someone saved me. I’ve been through untold hardships to come back and see you now.”
Laura said, tears welling up in her eyes. Laura was indeed rescued, but as how did she get bombed… Only she and the person who joined the activity knew. Hearing this, Helena was shocked by how vicious Clara could be.
Other’s life seemed to be so worthless to her. What was her heart made of?
Laura looked at the expression on Helena’s face and felt that it was time. So, she whispered something to Helena’s ears.
