Casandra shifted her attention elsewhere, feeling flustered after experiencing such an intimate moment for the first time in her life. Her lips had been kissed by a man, even though Alexander was her legitimate husband. Despite this, Casandra couldn’t help but feel nervous and awkward. Being so close to a man, especially someone like Alexander who had always despised her, was quite overwhelming.
“I’m sorry,” mumbled Alexander, feeling embarrassed for accidentally doing that to Casandra. He had let himself be carried away by the atmosphere, and unconsciously planted a brief kiss on Casandra’s lips.
Both Casandra and Alexander couldn’t understand why he had dared to do such a thing. On one hand, Alexander justified it because Casandra was his lawful wife. No one could forbid or scold him for what he had done.
However, Casandra couldn’t refuse it either, as she believed it was her duty as a wife, right? But Alexander was still too proud to admit that Casandra was his wife, and he hadn’t fulfilled certain obligations as a husband. One of them being the intimacy they should have shared since they became husband and wife.
Occasionally, Alexander glanced at Casandra, who kept averting her gaze to the car window. He didn’t want to see her cheeks turning slightly red because of his actions.
Casandra’s fingers intertwined, trying to dispel the nervousness and fear that engulfed her.
If only she could go home alone right now, she would definitely ask to get off immediately. However, Casandra had no choice but to stay by Alexander’s side until they reached home.
Frans, who was supposed to accompany them, mysteriously disappeared. He claimed to have a patient, but Casandra overheard earlier that he would start working next Monday. It seemed Frans deliberately left her with Alexander at the amusement park to bring them closer.
Although it was a commendable act, Casandra wasn’t ready to be so close to Alexander just yet. In her mind, it would take maybe two or three more months, or perhaps they might never get close at all, as she was genuinely afraid of falling for her husband.
Which girl wouldn’t fall for someone like Alexander, who was kind and caring? Unfortunately, she was not the woman Alexander desired to have all the goodness from him as a husband.
So, all Casandra received from him was his cold-heartedness and ego. Seeing how Alexander treated Cesilia and how much he trusted his wife, Casandra believed that Cesilia was an incredibly fortunate woman.
However, Casandra thought Cesilia was too naive and foolish, wasting the love of her own husband. She chased after her dreams and career, which would never be as eternal as Alexander’s feelings for her.
Yet, the darker side of Casandra urged her to tempt Alexander further, now that he had initiated physical contact with her. It implied that Alexander was becoming interested, and all that was left was to serve him in the bedroom. Soon, a baby would be conceived between them, and time would decide if she would become pregnant or not.
If she got pregnant, it would be even harder for Alexander to let her go. He had yearned for a child so much, and when their child arrived, Alexander might not be willing to let her leave.
Was it true? Casandra wrestled with herself. She wanted to claim that she was capable of making Alexander happy and winning him fully from Cesilia. She preferred to avoid being separated from her own child, so she was ambitious in keeping Alexander away from Cesilia.
By doing so, she would live happily with her small family, driving Cesilia far away from their lives. For the sake of her happiness, Casandra began to feel guiltless if such a future came to pass because Cesilia was the one who wasted her husband’s love.
It wasn’t Casandra’s desire at all, so it wouldn’t be fair for people to think badly of her in the future, as she was genuinely treated like a Special Homewrecker.
Coming uninvited, paid to bring happiness to Alexander, which Cesilia refused to give to her own husband.
“Driver, I’m canceling the trip to the guerrilla complex!”
“Why, sir? We’re almost there. I’ve set the destination accordingly,” protested the taxi driver when Alexander suddenly changed the route, and in about two to three minutes, the car would enter the upscale residential complex he was heading to.
However, suddenly Alexander quickly corrected their destination after he opened his phone to distract himself from the nervousness caused by Casandra earlier.
“I will confirm when we reach our destination, and for the rest, I will pay offline for my second destination.”
“Alright, if that’s what you want. So, where do you want to go now?” The taxi driver complied with Alexander’s instructions as two separate orders would earn him some additional income.
Moreover, Alexander had confirmed the arrival and given him a five-star rating. Not to mention a few tips to make the driver more willing to accommodate his wishes.
“Hotel Permata.” That was Alexander’s second choice of destination.
“Hotel Permata?” The driver repeated Alexander’s destination, making sure there would be no more change of direction or destination from him this time.
“Yes, I want to go on a honeymoon with my wife. Suddenly, I feel like spending time with her.”
“Wow… newlyweds, it seems!” The driver was happy to hear that Casandra and Alexander were newlyweds.
“That’s right, sir. We just got married a few days ago, and due to my busy schedule, I haven’t had the chance to take her on a vacation until now. Since it’s a holiday, we’d rather spend time at a hotel than go home. Besides, there’s no one at home.”
Casandra blinked, turning to look at Alexander, her eyebrows furrowing in disbelief at his statement that there was no one at home. Meri was there, waiting for them to return.
“Wait, Sir…” Alexander covered Casandra’s mouth with his index finger.
“Stay calm, I’ll be the one to talk to Mama,” Alexander said, comforting Casandra, who was worried that Meri was waiting for them at home.
Casandra nodded slowly, still not taking her eyes off Alexander, as the issue here was not just their delayed return, but also Alexander’s words about going on a honeymoon to a hotel. Was that true? She wondered silently.
Cesilia pushed away Maxime’s hand that was still resting on her flat stomach. She also pushed him away to create some distance. Cesilia looked annoyed because once again she had been deceived by him. It was almost midnight, and he had failed to wake her up as promised earlier.
