Part 40

Book:The Surrogate CEO's Child Published:2024-6-4

As Alexander and Casandra descended from the ferris wheel, Alexander noticed Cesilia walking hand-in-hand with Maxime. They seemed more like a couple than an employer and employee, with Maxime possessively holding Cesilia’s hand.
Alexander felt a surge of anger and jealousy, but he knew he couldn’t do anything about it. He couldn’t confront Maxime or Cesilia in public, as it would only lead to more problems, especially if Cesilia was indeed having feelings for another man. He decided to observe from a distance for now, unsure of what to do next.
They continued to explore the water park, but Alexander couldn’t fully enjoy the experience. His mind was preoccupied with thoughts of Cesilia and Maxime. Casandra noticed his change in demeanor and tried to distract him with the various attractions, but she could tell something was bothering him.
After a while, Casandra suggested heading back home, knowing that Alexander needed rest. Reluctantly, he agreed, and they made their way to the exit. As they walked, Casandra couldn’t help but feel bad for her employer. She knew that his relationship with Cesilia was complicated and that he was struggling to come to terms with it.
Once they arrived home, Casandra prepared a light meal for Alexander while he rested. She knew he needed time to process his emotions, and she wanted to be there for him in any way she could.
Later that evening, Frans came to check on Alexander, and they talked about the events of the day. Frans reassured his friend that Cesilia’s actions were not his fault and that sometimes, people’s feelings change for reasons beyond their control. Alexander appreciated Frans’ support and understanding.
Over the next few days, Alexander tried to focus on work and other activities to keep his mind off Cesilia and Maxime. He spent more time with Casandra, enjoying their friendship and the bond they had formed.
Meanwhile, Cesilia seemed distant and preoccupied. She often kept to herself and avoided talking about her personal life with Alexander. He respected her boundaries and decided not to pry, giving her space to sort out her feelings.
One evening, Cesilia approached Alexander in his study. She looked nervous but determined. “Alexander, can we talk?” she asked hesitantly.
“Of course, Cesilia. What’s on your mind?” he replied, putting aside his work to give her his full attention.
Cesilia took a deep breath. “I need to be honest with you. I’ve been feeling conflicted lately, and I think it’s best if we address our relationship.”
Alexander listened carefully as Cesilia expressed her feelings. She admitted that she was confused about her emotions and that she needed time to figure things out. She also acknowledged that their marriage had its challenges and that they both needed to work on communication and understanding each other better.
Alexander appreciated Cesilia’s honesty and openness. He, too, admitted that he had been struggling with their relationship and that he wanted to find a way to move forward together.
They both agreed to take a break from their usual routine and spend time apart to reflect on their feelings. Cesilia wanted to explore her emotions and decide what she truly wanted, while Alexander wanted to focus on his own growth as an individual.
During this time, Casandra and Frans were there to support both Cesilia and Alexander, offering a listening ear and words of encouragement. They became pillars of strength for the couple, helping them navigate the complexities of their relationship.
As days turned into weeks, Cesilia and Alexander slowly rediscovered themselves and each other. They attended therapy sessions together, where they learned to communicate more effectively and address their issues head-on.
Throughout this process, Casandra and Frans remained by their sides, guiding them with their unwavering support and friendship. Cesilia and Alexander realized that they had both made mistakes in their marriage, but they were committed to making things work and rebuilding their relationship from the ground up.
As the months passed, Cesilia and Alexander grew closer and more understanding of each other’s needs and desires. They found joy in each other’s company and discovered a newfound appreciation for their marriage.
In the end, their love for each other prevailed, and they emerged from their struggles stronger than ever. Cesilia and Alexander’s journey taught them the importance of honesty, communication, and self-discovery in a relationship.
Casandra and Frans continued to be an integral part of their lives, not just as employees, but as dear friends who had played a crucial role in their journey to healing and happiness.
The once tumultuous household transformed into a place filled with love, understanding, and harmony. Cesilia and Alexander knew that their relationship was a work in progress, but they were committed to facing whatever challenges came their way together, hand in hand, and with the support of their devoted friends.
“Alright, let’s go there!” Frans invited Alexander and Casandra. In his hand was a paper bag, and without asking, Alexander knew it contained their change of clothes.
Frans, aware of the direction of Alexander’s gaze, didn’t want his friend to dwell on his pain for too long while enjoying the amusement park.
“I now understand how devastated Alexander must feel when the woman he loves chooses to play with another man. She said she was busy with work, no time for fun, yet she found time to play with that guy. Being here is enough proof that she’s no longer serious about Alexander,” Frans thought to himself.
After this, Frans planned to make an effort to bring Casandra and Alexander closer together. He would think of a way to do it later. For now, he was going to enjoy the water rides.
They all cheered, played, and splashed around in the pool. Alexander chuckled seeing Casandra stumble after sliding down the spiral. They even rented floats to swim together. As usual, Frans made sure Alexander and Casandra had moments alone, playing without worries.
Without the knowledge of the married couple, Frans left the pool area and changed into dry clothes. He decided to let Alexander enjoy his time with Casandra, hoping they would bond even more.
Casandra and Alexander wanted to change their clothes, and that was when they noticed Frans was not there. So they tried to find him.
Once inside the changing room, they finally found Frans.
“Why did you leave without saying anything? We thought you were still with us, so we ended up talking to others,” Alexander grumbled, receiving the paper bag from Frans.
“Well, I didn’t want to interrupt your fun. Besides, I can’t stay in the water for too long. You know, I’m getting old,” Frans chuckled a little, trying to hide his true intentions from Alexander.
“Alright, enough talking, hurry up and change your clothes! You might catch a cold. After this, I’ll give you some vitamins, Lex, to make sure you won’t get sick again,” Frans patted Alexander’s shoulder. “I’ll wait for you in the car,” he said, leaving Alexander and Casandra in the changing room.
“Who’s going first, Sir?”
“You go first!” Alexander handed over the paper bag.
Casandra shook her head. “No, you go first, Sir.” She returned the bag to him. Not that they couldn’t change clothes at the same time, but Frans had provided only one towel, so Alexander and Casandra had to take turns using it.
“Sir, you’re still recovering from your illness, so please, let me go first. I’ll be fine with the heat and rain, but you’re not used to it, and you’re still running a fever,” she continued to insist.
Reluctantly, Alexander finally agreed, seeing the logic in Casandra’s words. “Alright, fine, but please don’t take too long. I’ll be waiting for you outside the changing room,” he said, handing back the bag to her.
Casandra smiled gratefully. “Thank you, Sir. I promise I’ll be quick.” With that, she took the bag and entered the changing room, leaving Alexander to wait for her outside.
As he waited, Alexander couldn’t help but think about how caring and considerate Casandra was, always putting others before herself. He couldn’t deny that she had become an essential part of his life, and her presence brought him a sense of comfort and joy.
“Okay, wait here! I’ll change my clothes,” Alexander said before leaving Casandra.
Casandra smiled happily, seeing how gruff Alexander could be when speaking. This was what she missed from her husband, unlike yesterday when Alexander was heartbroken due to Cesilia’s rejection.
It meant that her presence by his side could now divert all the sadness he had felt. Casandra was incredibly grateful for that.
After changing his clothes, Alexander handed the paper bag and towel to Casandra. He changed quickly because he was feeling really hungry at the moment. When Casandra finished, they both walked side by side towards the parking lot. Upon arrival, Alexander saw Cesilia entering the same car as Maxime.
His heart ached seeing how free his wife was. It was only now that Alexander realized he had been negligent in educating his wife, trusting Cesilia too much, believing that she was busy with work while she was actually spending time with her boss. Getting angry now would be useless and would only embarrass him in public.
Cesilia, being a famous model, would easily become the subject of gossip everywhere. Alexander didn’t want his face to be plastered all over social media gossip accounts or television gossip shows. So he tried hard to forget what he had just seen and focused on Casandra.
By some luck or coincidence, Frans was not there in the parking lot. Reluctantly, Alexander decided to use a ride-sharing service to go home. When contacted, Frans made the excuse of an emergency surgery he had to perform at the hospital.
He had to leave Alexander and Casandra behind. During the journey, Casandra sat next to Alexander.
Occasionally, she stole glances at her husband.
Through the corner of his eye, Alexander noticed what Casandra was doing. Playfully, he dropped his phone. Reflexively, Casandra caught it because she had been paying attention to Alexander all this time.
Alexander smiled. His suspicion was confirmed – Casandra had been looking at him. So, when she lifted her face to hand him the phone, he was taken aback.
His heart almost forgot how to beat when their gazes and lips met. Casandra’s blood rushed through her veins. The masculine scent filled her senses, and she felt the warmth of Alexander’s lips, which sent shivers down her spine.
