Sydney’s POV:
I rushed into the room to see Mason and Pheobe in an awful state. When Mason and I escaped my house and walked on our way to the castle, he started having a skin disease. That red bruises started spreading from his legs. When we were in jail, it started increasing slowly. Now it’s worse. It’s developed all over his body. Mason situation is much worse than his sister. It all happens because Mason left the place where he supposed. He was never supposed to leave that place. Again, the fault lies in me. I should have sent him back.
” I am so sorry. I left you when I got another problem. What can I do now?” I panicked. I sat next to him with my hand on his shoulder. I didn’t touch his body. It’s not like it disgusts me, the little touch will hurt his body.
” You can’t do anything. Don’t talk like you care for everyone. You are only good for creating problems.” Pheobe commented even in that pain.
” She never hurt anyone. You should keep your mouth shut or you won’t get any solution for this disease.” Jacen fires at her.
” It’s okay, Jacen. I am going to help her too. It’s not like I care for her. She’s Mason sister. That’s the only thing.” I told him and tried to help him stand up.
” There’s no solution for it, Sapphire. I already told you, there’s nothing worth in my life to get it back. You should leave me here. There’s no use in fixing this problem.” Mason said with struggle. I can clearly see he can’t bear the pain.
” Every life is worth it. I am going to take you to Lilith. She needs to answer this. You don’t deserve this pain.” I told him. Jacen joined me to help Mason to walk. It may be only bruises on his skin. But we can’t feel the pain than him.
Amelia walked towards Pheobe to help her. She didn’t resist the help from him and silently walked with Amelia’s support.
” Lilith needs to answer it,” I muttered to myself again. My hatred for her increases every single second.
” Do you think it’s a good idea to ask her help again, baby?” Jacen questioned with a doubt.
” Who said I am going to ask her help? I will demand her.”
Soon we arrived at the entrance of the hall. For devil’s sake, Lilith is on her throne. Dorothy is pacing on the hall nervously biting her nails. She has never been nervous. Who knows what’s bothering her?
” What the hell is happening to my friend? You need to solve this now.” I shouted the moment I entered the hall.
” What do you want now? You are interrupting our private moment.” Dorothy said, annoyed by me.
” Your friend is affected by this disease because he broke the rule. If someone broke the rule by getting out of the place where they supposed to be, they will get into trouble like this. Both of them will suffer from this pain slowly till no bones left in their body. I accept it will be more painful than you could think of. Can you leave the hall now, darling?” Lilith politely explained.
” I am not leaving anywhere. Cure them.” I demanded.
” Seriously! You except the Queen to help you again. Nothing is happening till the fight is over. ” Dorothy said.
” No. I know there are two days for the dual. If there’s a temporary way to help him, do it now. That’s all I ask you.” My demanding tone slowly turned to request.
” Um… I can do that. But I prefer not to. Remember our deal. There’s no change in it. If you win the fight, then I will do whatever you want. Till then, I am not ready to move my single finger. Could you go out now?” Lilith said.
” We should leave now, Sydney. There’s no use in it.” Amelia suggested.
” That’s what she will do. She is the first priority for her.” Pheobe silently laughed. I am not the one who cares for myself. I don’t even need some others to tell about me. I know me. Even if hate her, I am doing this for Mason. He has been with me at a difficult time. I promised him to give his life back.
” The deal is still on. But I think we can change the date. What do you say about that? Can we change it to tomorrow?” Suddenly I asked without thinking twice.
” Oh. I didn’t see this coming. Let’s see what the Queen says?” Dorothy curiously looked at Lilith.
” There’s no problem for me. But you will be the one who loses your last day to live. Are you sure about this?”
I am sure. I don’t want Mason to suffer. I will make sure I will find the hall of mirrors today. I don’t want any more days to stay depressed. Right at this moment, something must have happened tomorrow. I am looking forward to the next day.
” Think and speak, Sydney. This day won’t be enough to do anything. What are you thinking? you are putting yourself into more trouble.” Jacen silently scolded me.
” I know what I am doing. I don’t want Mason to suffer.”
” I am sure. Let’s have the dual tomorrow.” I declared with confidence.
” Your choice. Don’t regret it later.” That was the last word from Lilith. Then I am out of the room with Mason, Pheobe, Jacen and Amelia. The end is near. Win or lose. Live or die.
