BEFORE FEW DAYS:
” No, bro. Stop the car,” I ordered him. It’s no good at crashing the other cars in traffic. We can rather stop than ending up in an accident.
” Sorry, bro. I can’t,” My brother stubbornly said and increased the speed than before. I can hear the girls scream behind us. He sped over all the vehicles. When our car is about to get stuck in the traffic jam, Jacen leads it to the path where the people walk in the road.
” Oh, god. Slow down, Jacen. You don’t want to kill anyone or ourselves. Do you?” Kassidy screamed while Jacen simply ignored everyone. His eyes are on the road. I can see the determination in him. He won’t rest until he finds Sydney. We all care for her. But we least not acting stupid like him.
” Is Dorothy still following us?” I turned back to the girls.
” I don’t think she will follow us at this speed. Please tell your brother that I want to live. I am not even eighteen. I wanna live,” Amelia begged tightly shutting her eyes.
” I won’t because we are…” Jacen trialled off as the car slowed down.
” Finally you stopped, bro. It’s good that no one is dead,” I said.
” We are out of gas. Fuck. This a damaged worthless car,” Jacen complained and opened the door.
” Don’t blame the car. You are the reason for this desperate state. See it. All the windows are broken. You spoiled a new car in a few minutes,” Kassidy blamed Jacen. We four stood in the corner of the road, thinking of a way to reach my house. Dorothy must have lost our track. She will give up on finding us. She thinks we are worth it. But we gotta prove that she’s so wrong.
” What are we going to do?” Amelia asked, holding on to her left hand which is wrapped in an old cloth to stop the bleeding.
” We can take the bus. We are near the bus stop,” Jacen suggested as he got inside the car once again and came out with a purse.
” Are you suggesting to leave this car alone? and whose purse is this?” I asked snatching it from him.
” Oh, yeah. Wow. This guy is rich.” I said in astonishment, looking into a lot of money. More and more dollars. When did we become a thief?
” Yes, he is. We have more than enough money to reach our house,” Jacen said and threw the car key inside it.
” What about that guy? Don’t take his money,” Kassidy advised and looked at us madly. I think she hates us for saving her. She’s such an Ungrateful girl.
” If I see him again. I can return the money and I will even buy him a new car. Now’s there’s no option for it, so let’s go,” I told her and started making my way in the road. We walked for a while and waiting at the bus stop. Life seems casual now. We are no longer in the Academy and I am going to meet my mother again. She has no idea what happened in these few months. We got more things to tell her. If I can imagine myself after a few months, we would have saved Sydney. She will be fine. But she can never be mine. Why did I love her? Why did she choose my brother over me? It still hurts. I wish the things were different. I know I am selfish, but I don’t want my brother to reunite with Sydney. I can’t take it. I have to see them together for the rest of my forever life. I want to involve in an accident and have amnesia. I want to forget her if I can’t stop my feelings for her.
” The bus is here. Come on. We can reach my house in two hours,” Jacen energetically said. When we got into the bus, all eyes are on Amelia’s hands. She needs to go to the hospital but we don’t have time. Atleast, my mom will treat her when we got home.
” Can you manage it till we get home?” I asked Amelia, who nodded her head. I sat next to her. Jacen and Kassidy are behind us.
” Turn back. Tell me, what’s our next plan?” Kassidy demanded the answer in an angry tone.
” First, we are going to my house. My mother is a witch. You and my mom need to find a way to get another portal to hell. Then we are going to hell to save Sydney. After that, I won’t even bother you. You get in your own way. I don’t care about your life at all,” Jacen explained harshly.
” Okay. Thanks for saving me and sorry for… Sorry for anything I have done wrong.” Kassidy apologized. When Jacen apologized back, Amelia and I turned away.
” I miss Sydney,”
” Me too. Don’t worry about it. We will find her.” I assured her when I am not even sure of it.
” Yeah. We will. It’s in our hands.”
” Can I ask you something personal? If it’s okay, I won’t ask.” Amelia nervously said.
” Go on,”
” Do you love Sydney?” she instantly asked.
” How do you know that? I mean… yeah I did,”
” You did or you still love her?” she questioned me again. I think I want the bus to stop near our street which will take two hours.
” I still do. But after getting Sydney back, I won’t take advantage of her breakup to make her love me. I swear I won’t do that. So I think we should drop this topic,” I blurted stupidly.
” Actually, I didn’t ask any on this. I didn’t say you will take advantage but you just said that. Do you have that type of idea in your mind?” Do I have it? No, I don’t. Then why did I said that? Anyways, there’s no way for it.
” No. I thought you will misunderstand me. But first, tell me how did you know that?”
” Me… I… Sydney told me. She tells me everything. That’s what I am thinking. She does. Except for the part when she jumped into hell,” Amelia said, thinking of their friendship.
” Oh. What did she tell about me?” I asked in curiously to know her response when she came to know that I love her.
” You wanna know that?” Amelia raised her eyebrow.
