Sydney’s POV:
A headache. My whole body hurts. I am tied up. My whole body is tied up. I am starving. I am thirsty. I can’t move. My head hurts so badly. I need to get rid of this rope. I can’t. I finally opened my eyes.
I remember that I am in hell. I am in my house which is in hell. I have no idea how’s that possible. I looked at myself. I am tied up in a chair. No matter how much I struggled I can’t free myself. The more I struggle the more it hurts. I have no strength to fight. I am feeling dizzy. I am here to save my aunt but it seems like I have no chance to escape hell. How many hours am I being tied up like this?
Suddenly the door opened a little to view Pheobe’s face. There’s a smile on her face. She likes to enjoy this view of me while I never did something wrong to her.
” I guess someone’s up after a day,” she smirked and showed a glass of water in front of me. I can’t believe I am unconscious for a day but it doesn’t matter. I need water.
” Give me the water,” I said which sounded like a pleading and a barely audible voice.
” Yeah. It’s for you, Princess. If you want it, take it,” she said purposefully knowing I am tied up.
” Give it to me,” I muttered, and I am not going to add ‘please’ to her.
” I said take it. First of all, don’t you wonder how it’s here in hell? Think about it. Think, Princess,” she said wanting me to die from starvation.
” I don’t want to know the laws behind it,” I uttered. Even if she untied me, I have no strength to use my power.
” Then you don’t deserve it,” she said and poured it down right in front of my eyes. What’s this new bitch really wants? She’s crossing the line.
” See you later. If you are alive…” her smile reached her eyes and Pheobe’s gone. I can’t take it anymore. I am not going to die here. I need to do something. I tried to concentrate my power on my hands to break the rope by myself. Even though it’s difficult, I am ready to give it a try. I focused on my energy to my hands which are pointed right at the rope tied on my wrist. Atleast I could free my hands.
After many attempts, my hands are free and with the help of my both hands, I send the bright blue light to get rid of all the ropes which tied up around me. Finally, I can breathe. I took a deep breath and stood up looking at the window to jump from it. But the door to my room opened again.
I got panicked and prepared myself to fight whoever it is whether I have the energy to fight or not.
It’s Mason.
” Hey…” he started.
” Stay away. You are not going to tie me up again. I am not letting you do it,” I tried to say as loud as I can. I know I can’t able to stand on my feet but I won’t show my weakness to him.
” I am not. Please don’t make any noise,” I heard his pleading voice for the first time. He closed the door and expected me to say silent which I preferrable won’t do.
” I know you all want to kill me for some stupid reasons. I will shout and scream as much as I can,” I said bringing all the energy I have left.
” Shut your damn mouth. I am trying to help you,” he lowered his voice, and then I noticed his hands. A bottle of water.
” Here drink it. Please don’t let my sister hear you,” he pleaded again giving it to me. He didn’t pour it down like his sister. I drank it like I am seeing it after I have been in the desert for many days.
After the last sip, I glared at him. ” Why are you helping me? You must have a plan to do this? What is it?” I asked in suspicion. He didn’t behave worse like Pheobe but I don’t trust anyone. No one.
” I have no plans. We tied you up because we want to hurt someone who’s one of the reasons for our death. But killing is too much I guess. My sister wants to let you die. If you make noise there’s no use for me in saving you,” he quietly said.
” Thanks. Now you are going to keep me here right?” I asked without looking at his face.
” No. If only you say all the reasons why you are here,” he stubbornly told closing the window which I kept on staring at since I drank water.
” I don’t want to explain my problems to a stranger,” I said furiously looking at him.
” Yeah. So what? I am trying to help you. Just say what’s going on before my sister or uncle enters here. I don’t tell you to trust me, just say why you are here alive instead of living in your paranormal city,” he said mentioning the paranormal word a disgustful word.
” You don’t know anything about Slateville or how reigns it. I can’t start from the beginning,” I snapped.
” I know more than I ever should. You are the Princess of Slateville and you are supposed to be dead but you are alive. Now what brings you here?” he said folding his arms across his chest.
” Dorothy’s the reason for my guardian’s death who took care of me all these years. I came here to find a way to bring her back alive,” I simply finished with an important point.
” You… you are… Impossible. How can you bring a dead person back to life?” he said unbelievably. I don’t have an answer too. But if I need to do it, I will somehow find a way.
” I need to do that and I will. No more questions.” I said taking his hands away from the window. I am going to escape from here like how Jacen came to see me. Maybe I should show a little gratitude for stranger Mason.
” You are not going out. You said I want something in return from you. I guess you are right. Let’s make a deal,” Mason said stopping me before I took a step forward.
” Say it,”
