A few days thereafter, after regaining some strength, Sulie’s Uncle finally was able to use his sole supernatural ability and that is to change himself into a serpent.
“Holy ghost Uncle, I never thought you had such power of transforming yourself into a serpent,” Sulie was shocked but somehow happy. Hope suddenly lighted into her thoughts.
The serpent made a hissing sound and was able to slide its body outside of the prison cell. It crawled until it reached the entrance of the dungeon where vampire guards are lined up, alertly. The serpent unnoticing had bitten the five guards one by one which gave them sudden death. The Serpent’s venom is so strong that a single bite would automatically make the bitten victim shudder to death.
At that time, Noema suddenly felt a certain uneasiness in her sense of hearing. She could hear hissing sounds and then thereafter she felt heartbeats stopped, to whoever those heartbeats, she could not pinpoint. In her young mind, all she can conclude was that the hissing sound might have taken away the heartbeats of those hearts. Noema closed her eyes and tried to visualize something out of what she heard; slowly she saw a picture in her mind, a snake crawling from a dark part of the palace coming nearer to the kitchen entrance. Suddenly, Noema’s eyes flew open and climbed down her bed. She ran towards her parents’ room when she felt again two hearts lost their heartbeats.
“King Father, Queen Mother, open the door please, open the door!” she shouted as she banged the door of her parents’ room.
King Timodore and Queen Asalea woke up at the same time. It was King Timodore who was able to alight first from their bed and opened the door.
Noema rushed inside the room and told her father to close the door.
“What is it, my daughter?” Queen Asalea asked with confusion and worry in her eyes.
“Queen Mother, there are a lot of heartbeats taken by a serpent, a snake to be specific and the snake is getting closer to the palace’s kitchen entrance.” Noema was breathless as she said exclaiming.
The King and the Queen looked at each other and once again they learned another special ability of Noema. A very rare ability.

King Timodore and Queen Asalea together with Noema, hurriedly went to the room of Quacey and woke him up.
“My Queen and my Son, make yourselves invisible so that this serpent will not see you. Noema and I are going to put a glass shield around us that the serpent cannot be able to harm us.” King Timodore said then he faced Noema.
“My daughter Noema, let us play, cover Daddy with a glass shield and yourself then we will search for the serpent. Whoever got first will win Queen Mother’s oh-so-tasty baked cookies. Are you ready for our game?”
Noema smiled so sweetly. Oh, she loves her Queen Mothers’ delicious cookies. “You bet father, I will win. Let me do your request then.” Noema closed her eyes and playfully put a glass around her father and herself. When she opened her eyes, she gave her father a thumb sign.
“Done?” King Timodore asked smilingly.
Noema nodded and started to run. They followed her going to the kitchen.
“My Queen, if the serpent is in the kitchen, it might come from the dungeon because the kitchen is the nearest to the dungeon. I am having some thoughts if this serpent is one of the traitors that we imprisoned there.” King Timodore said as they followed Noema.
Noema suddenly stopped and raised one hand and pointed to her ears. It means she could hear the hissing sound of the serpent. Noema ordered the door of the kitchen to open and there they saw the big black snake ready to attack.
Good thing it was late at night and none of their palace maids and cooks were in the kitchen, otherwise, it would be a big problem.
The serpent hissed so loud with its red eyes looking at the little Noema. Suddenly, the serpent’s body stood in a circling motion with its mouth wide open, ready to gobble the little Noem.
Queen Asalea saw the big knives on the kitchen shelves and in her invisible self ran towards it grabbing two of them. When Quacey, saw what his Queen Mother did, he followed and grabbed two knives also.
Queen Asalea tried to slash the body of the serpent but its skin is too thick that the knife she used just bounced back, without even harming the serpent.
At that moment, King Timodore was chanting to tame the serpent but before he could finish his chant, the serpent slowly became a statue.
And then they saw Noema clapping her small hands laughing while pointing at the unmoving snake in front of them.
Quacey clapped his tiny hands too and looked at his little sister. “Noema, wow, we have a new toy out there, look!”
And the King and Queen were suddenly stunned when their twins both giggled and ran towards the statue serpent.
