Ninety nine
*Rafe*
As I held Freya close to me, I couldn’t help but marvel at her selflessness. Her warmth and softness enveloped me, making me feel safe and loved. She was truly the best thing in my life, and I treasured every moment with her. I had been dreading telling her that I wouldn’t be able to take her to the party because of Jessica, but Freya surprised me by giving me her understanding and permission. It was just one more example of her incredible kindness and generosity, even when she didn’t have to be. As I gazed into her deep brown eyes, I knew that I was the luckiest person in the world to have her by my side.
“But.. How did you know I would be taking Jessica?” I finally managed to ask, my voice barely more than a whisper. The weight of the situation pressed down on me, suffocating.
“Jessica told me herself,” Freya began, a mixture of hurt and determination flickering in her eyes. “She came to my chamber earlier. She bragged about it-how you had to beg her to go with you because it’s the most important party of the year for the Alpha king and his future Luna.”
I felt the anger rise up like a tidal wave, crashing through me with a force that threatened to consume my every thought. Jessica’s arrogance, her audacity to approach Freya and flaunt her supposed victory, was infuriating. My fists clenched at my sides as I struggled to maintain control.
“She said what?” I growled, barely able to contain the fury that burned within me.
The air was tense and charged with anger. My eyes blazed with fury. “How could Jessica come to your room to threaten you?!” I seethed, my fists clenching at my sides.
Freya placed a calming hand on my chest, trying to diffuse the situation. “Rafe, please,” she pleaded in a soft voice. “Don’t make this more difficult than it already is.”
But her words fell on deaf ears as I continued to push for answers. “Tell me what she said to you?” My tone was demanding and determined.
“She warned me not to come near you tonight,” Freya finally confessed, her voice quivering slightly from fear or anxiety. “Told me to stay away from you for the entire night.”
My jaw tightened as I processed her words. “That’s unacceptable,” I spat out, the anger evident in my voice. “I’ll teach her a lesson for trying to confront you like that.” The anger raging in me made it clear that I was not one to back down from a fight.
“Please, Rafe,” Freya pleaded, her eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my heart ache. “Don’t make it a problem. Just promise me one thing.”
“Anything,” I breathed, my anger melting away under her gaze.
As I leaned in to kiss her forehead, Freya’s whisper was filled with emotion, causing her voice to tremble.
“Just promise me that you won’t forget me tonight,” she pleaded, her eyes searching mine. In that moment, our gazes were tied together in an unbreakable bond. The air around us sparked and crackled with the intensity of our unspoken desire, drawing us closer together. Her presence was intoxicating, like a heady perfume that enveloped me. And when she touched me, it felt like electricity coursing through my veins, igniting every nerve ending in its wake. I couldn’t believe how much she drove me crazy. Without even trying.
“Freya,” I murmured, my hand tracing the curve of her cheek. Her skin was soft beneath my fingertips, and I could feel the warmth of her breath against my lips. The world around us seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of us suspended in the moment.
“Rafe,” she replied, her voice a hushed whisper that sent shivers down my spine. The tension between us was palpable, a magnetic force drawing us inexorably closer.
In this moment, nothing else mattered. Not the council, not Jessica, not even the party. All that existed was Freya and the undeniable connection we shared.
Our lips collided with a fervent urgency, the contact sending shivers down my spine and a rush of heat through my veins. The softness of her lips against mine was like velvet, and I couldn’t resist deepening the kiss. Freya’s hands tangled in my hair, pulling me closer as if she feared I might slip away. My arms wrapped around her waist, drawing her against me until there was no space left between us. The world outside ceased to exist; there was only the intoxicating warmth of her body pressed against mine, our hearts beating as one. Every nerve ending was on fire, and it felt like we were the only two people in the universe. In that moment, nothing else mattered except for the passion and desire burning between us.
Her breath hitched as my hands roamed over her back, feeling the delicate curve of her spine through the thin fabric of her dress. The softness of her skin beneath my fingertips was almost too much to bear. Freya’s fingers traced the lines of my jaw before sliding down to rest against my chest, right where my heart pounded furiously for her.
As my lips grazed against hers, I felt a surge of emotions rush through me like a violent storm. “Freya,” I managed to say, my words barely audible amidst the overwhelming sensations. “You are the only thing on my mind, day and night. Every corner of my being is consumed by thoughts of you.”
“Rafe…” Her voice was a gentle murmur that reverberated within my soul, a sound that I never wanted to fade away.
“I could never forget you,” I promised, pressing my forehead against hers, our breaths mingling in the small space between us. “Not for a second.”
Her deep brown eyes searched mine, shining with a mixture of love and longing that mirrored my own. We stood there, our bodies pressed tightly together in an embrace that felt like it could last for eternity. Each kiss was a desperate plea, a silent vow that no matter what obstacles lay ahead, our connection would remain unbreakable. The warmth of her lips against mine sent shivers down my spine, igniting a fire within me that I never wanted to extinguish. Our breaths mingled in the air between us, creating a cloud of shared passion and desire. As we held each other close, the world faded away and it was just the two of us, lost in the intensity of our passion.
I solfly cupped the back of her neck, pulling her even closer as we kissed again, deeper this time. It was a kiss filled with all the unspoken promises and dreams we shared, a testament to the bond that neither council nor courtly duties could sever.
“Never forget,” I murmured between kisses, each word a solemn vow etched into the fabric of my soul.
“Never,” she echoed, her voice trembling with the same intensity that burned within me.
“I love you, Freya” Her eyes shone with tears as she smiled at me.
“I.. love you too my Alpha king.”
Under the weight of our passion and the certainty of our love, I knew that no council decree or social obligation could ever make me forget Freya. She was my everything, my future Luna, my queen. And together, we would face whatever challenges came our way.
