Carl went to the elevator waiting for Emma Li. The two people did not speak. There were three people in the elevator, Carl and Emma went in.
This was a whole office building, full of office workers. Now it was the rush hour after work, and the elevator stopped is layer upon layer, soon it was full of people. Emma, originally standing at the door, has been pushed to the most inside. Carl can see a few men wearing glasses deliberately fall back and leaned to Emma, and Emma, with her hands on her chest, was angry.
Seeing such situation, Carl came towards Emma. Though there were a lot of people, it was not a big deal for Carl. Soon he was next to Emma, pushed the two men forward with hands, and then stood between them directly. What’s more, he made a safe room for Emma, without touching her. He has a big power.
Two men was dissatisfied with that someone stopped them. They looked back but was scared by seeing Carl’s eyes, stood aside and dared not to come closer.
“Thank you.” Emma said to Carl when they walked out of the elevator.
“It’s my job, and there were a lot of people, so you should leave in other time. A pretty girl like you can easily be tricked when there are so many of them.” Carl lightly said, and then continued to go out.
“Pretty? At last he said something better.” Emma was surprised, smiled, and then kept up with the footsteps of Carl.
“Do you want to go home or?” Carl asked Emma after getting into the car.
“I have an appointment with my friend to have dinner in Sao Paulo.” Emma said slowly.
Carl nodded and drove straight to Sao Paulo, which was the name of a western restaurant.
Carl parked the car, followed Emma to go upstairs. To a window seat on the second floor, Emma said hello to a beautiful girl sitting by the window, “Cindy, how long have you been here?”
“I just got here. Who is he?” Cindy asked after she saw Carl standing behind Emma.
Emma was thinking about how to introduce Carl, Carl said to Emma, “Miss Li, you eat first, I will wait for you there.”
Carl then nodded to Cindy, who looked at him strangely, and said, “Excuse me.” Then he turned to walk away.
“Won’t you eat with us?” Emma hurriedly asked Carl.
“No, thank you.” Carl lightly said, and then went away, directly sat on the sofa of the rest area, where he can see Emma’s position without blocking, and he won’t affect the conversation between Emma and her friend.
“What is this?” Cindy asked Emma in surprise.
“Oh, stop, this is the bodyguard my father hired for me. I did not agree, but you know, my father is a stubborn old man.” Emma shook her head and said helplessly.
“Bodyguard? Oh my God, this is the first time I’ve ever seen such a handsome bodyguard and it’s so cool.” Cindy said in surprise.
“Do you want him? I can give him to you.” Emma said angrily, seeing Cindy be gloating.
“I can take him. Are you willing to give him to me? Miss Li, you’re not polite. We are eating here and let him watch us over there. I can’t stand it. You’d better ask him to join us.” Cindy said pointing to the distance of Carl.
“He is a completely inflexible person, he won’t join us no matter what I said, but you are right, I also can’t eat, forget it, I ask him again.” Emma helplessly said, and then turned to Carl.
“Carl, let’s eat together. If you don’t eat now, you will have nothing to eat later. I have nothing at home, except for coffee.” Emma said to Carl.
“It doesn’t matter, later I will go downstairs and buy something to eat.” Carl lightly said.
“Do you have a problem? I know what you’re thinking. First, you don’t want to owe me money for your dinner, do you? And second, you don’t want to disturb me and my friends, but you’ve disturbed us. Besides, even if you do it today, can you do it every day? I don’t cook at home. I eat breakfast at home and have lunch and dinner outside. Do you buy food for every meal? Besides, you work 24 hours a day, so it’s my job as an employer to provide you with food and accommodation, OK?” Emma said to Carl little by little.
Carl was stunned, and nodded after hearing what Emma had said.
“Well, let’s go.” Emma took Carl to come over. During this time Cindy has been looking at Carl, she seemed to be very interested in Carl. No one knew whether she was interested in the bodyguard profession or the Carl.
Because Carl came, Emma and Cindy sat on one side, while Carl sat on the other side.
“Excuse me.” Carl saw Cindy has been looking at him, nodded to Cindy after sitting down.
“Hello, my name is Cindy, Emma’s friend. Nice to meet you.” Cindy held out her hand to Carl and said with a smile.
Carl nodded, held out his hand and shook hands with Cindy, then said, “Hello, my name is Carl.”
“Emma said you are her bodyguard. Are you really a bodyguard?” Cindy was just like a curious baby.
“Yes.” Carl nodded, lightly said.
“I see in the movie, those bodyguards all have guns, do you have a gun on you?” Cindy asked.
“Have you watched too many American movies? Order dished, What would you like?” Emma glared at Cindy, called the waiter and ordered food.
“Carl, what would you like to eat? If you don’t know…” Emma finally looked at Carl and asked, she was afraid that Carl was not very familiar with Western food, so she wanted to recommend some to Carl, but Carl interrupted her before she could speak.
“I’ll have goose liver, a medium steak and a fruit salad, please.” Carl said directly to the waiter.
Emma looked at Carl in surprise, then closed the menu and handed it to the waiter and said, “Ok, that’s all.”
