Book:My beautiful seductress Published:2024-6-4

When Sheila pushed the door to their bedroom open, her eyes settled on the man seated by the bed, holding a bowl of ice cream. Her eyes immediately lit up and she took hurried steps towards her husband. However, her happiness was short-lived when she peeked Inside the bowl. It was almost empty.
Sheila turned to look at David with a glare.
” I asked for ice cream, not an empty ice cream bowl.” She complained.
David could not scratch his head awkwardly.
When they were about to be dismissed at the hospital, they were given a list of things Sheila should avoid while pregnant and eating ice cream was one of them.
He didn’t want to anger his wife so he decided to allow her to eat a little portion. Now she is complaining? Even after he overlooked her health to please her?
” The doctor said…”
” Enough with what the doctor said.” Sheila cut him off impatiently. ” You either bring me what I asked for or scram.” She ordered. Her tone of voice indicated that there was no room for discussion. He would have to choose one option of the two given.
Speechless and helpless, David left the room. Two minutes later, he came back with a bowl full of ice cream. He had a smile on his face as he praised himself for how wise he is.
She wants to force him to get her ice cream? What if there is no more ice cream in the house?
Remembering how he instructed Aunt Meng to get rid of any ice cream in the house and never buy it in the future, he smiled. Problem solved.
” Here, your ice cream. I got your favourite.” David said innocently like he didn’t plot against her a moment ago.
Sheila’s eyes lit again when she saw a bowl full of vanilla and strawberry ice cream.
He knew her best.
Taking the bowl from his hands, she started to dig in with all smiles.
After she finished eating, she fell asleep. David left the room after making sure that she was asleep. He needed to talk to someone.
His wife was pregnant with his child and if there’s something he was more concerned of was keeping her safe. He didn’t want history to repeat itself. Since he dealt with Laura the last time she played a dirty prank on sheila and almost caused her to be raped, now he needed to settle old scores.
He took the car and drove to Sandra’s grave. Although every dead member of the Brown family would be buried at the Brown family ancestral hall, Sandra requested David to set her free .
Before taking her last breath, she insisted on being buried anywhere but not the ancestral hall.
” When I’m gone, don’t confine me to your family tombstone. I want to be a free spirit. Burry me outside. I want to experience all the four seasons even when I’m no longer alive.” Those were Sandra’s words. She had lived all her life following her heart. She was never someone to follow rules or heed to regulations.
Passing by a flower shop, he bought a bouquet of his late wife’s favourite flowers before driving to her private grave.
With heavy steps, he made his way to where she laid.
” Sandra Brown, David Brown’s beloved wife.
Sunrise 1982- Sunset 2018″
Those were the words written on her tombstone, accompanied by a picture of an ethereal ice beauty.
Placing the flowers on her grave, he lowered his body and sat beside the grave.
” Sandra, I’m here to see you again.” He started.
” Are you happy wherever you are?”
” Today, I will avenge whoever did this to you. I’ll make them wish they never lived to plot your death.
I miss you.” He said, a lone tear escaping his eyes.
” I know that I was never the husband you would have wished. I was not the best husband to you. I wish I could turn back time, maybe then, I could have treated you like you deserve. Now, I have her in my life and we are officially married. She is good to our daughter. Wherever you are, you can relax. Lilian is well taken care of. She has a mother who is willing to do anything for her, even getting pregnant to save our daughter.”
” She thinks that I don’t know it, but in my heart, I know she is pregnant to save our daughter. Although she is my wife, I feel like we owe her a lot. She is still young but to save Lily, she is willing to leave behind her dreams and commit herself to our
family.”
” Don’t worry, I won’t waste her efforts. I will do everything to have our daughter healthy again. I’m leaving now. I’ll come visit you soon.” With that, he took one last longing look at his dead wife’s grave before leaving.
What David didn’t know was that a couple had been observing him all this time.
” Honey, why don’t you forgive him already? It was never his fault that our daughter died so Young. If not for him, at least do it for our daughter. She would not be happy knowing that you resent her husband.” A woman tried to plead with her husband.
” It’s not like I don’t want to forgive him but he did nothing to avenge our daughter’s death. The culprit roams the Streets free, I hear they even keep close ties with that Anderson family. That’s what pisses me off the most.” The man replied.
Tired of pleading with her husband to give their once Son-in-law a chance to be forgiven, the woman could only follow her husband to the car obediently before they drove off.
After leaving the graveyard, David drove straight to the Brown family house.
He needed to discuss some matters with his grandmother.
Since it was the Anderson family involved with the death of his late wife and also the death of his wife’s parents, he could not take actions without informing her.
He needed to show her the evidence and discuss the way forward. One thing was for sure though, no matter the decision his grandmother would make, he would make Laura regret ever crossing and harming his family.
He Parked the car outside the house before making his way to the house.
When he entered the house, he was greeted by the servants.
Although he rarely came around, the servants still greeted him respectfully. Afterall, he was the favourite grandson of the Brown family Matriarch.
” Where is Grandma?” He inquired when he didn’t spot the old woman in the living room.
” The Madam is watering her flowers outside.” The woman replied.
Without another word, David made his way to the back yard.
Apart from drinking all sorts of tea and trying new flavours, his grandmother Loved tending to flowers.
Those were not any ordinary flowers, those were the flowers her husband, the late Master Brown, left behind.
She devoted her life to taking care of the things her husband left behind, including the company.
David often wondered why his grandma would insist on taking care of the flowers personally. That’s until she told him the history between her late husband and flowers.
Turns out she was doing it to remember and feel his presence in her life.
David strolled leisurely to where his grandmother stood, a watering can at hand as she continued watering her flowers.
” You’re here.” She acknowledged his presence before he could say anything.
” I have something to discuss with you.” David said, choosing to address the matter directly.
” I’m listening.” The old woman responded but David shook his head.
” I’ll wait for you in your study room.” With that, he walked away, leaving the old lady to finish with her task.
