Chapter 134 – Bonus chapter – 3 – Mate.
Clary P. O. V
As I stood in the bustling town square, the intoxicating scent of woods, honey, and mint mixed with the aroma of cologne wafted through the air and hit me like a wave. My wolf stirred inside my head, growling and screaming one word repeatedly: “mate.”
I was momentarily frozen, unable to comprehend what was happening. But then my instincts took over, and I began following the scent, pushing my way through the crowds of people until I collided with a solid wall.
I looked up to see a pair of emerald-green eyes staring back at me. “Mate,” we both said simultaneously, the word coming out as a whisper.
He stepped closer to me, his arms wrapping around my waist as he pulled me in close. I could feel the heat radiating off of him and the electricity that seemed to arc between us.
I was completely and utterly lost in his gaze, unable to look away or break the connection that seemed to bind us together. It was as if we were meant to be together as if our souls were made to fit like puzzle pieces.
And at that moment, I knew I had found my true mate. The one person who would love and accept me for who I was, wolf and all.
As I stood there, mesmerized by the emerald green eyes staring back at me, I couldn’t help but feel a deep connection to this stranger. His deep, husky voice sent shivers down my spine as he introduced himself as Lucian.
“Hello, mate,” I whispered, still unable to look away from his intense gaze. “My name is Clary.”
Suddenly, I heard someone clear their throat and snap out of my trance. I turned to see Luna Nikki standing beside us with a big smile.
“I see, so you’ve found your mate,” she said, still smiling.
I felt my face flush with embarrassment as I realized that we had been standing there, lost in each other’s gaze, for who knows how long. I quickly stepped back and tried to compose myself.
“Yes, I think so,” I replied, still feeling dizzy.
Luna Nikki chuckled and patted my shoulder. “Well, congratulations! It is a momentous occasion. Let’s go celebrate with some of the pack orphans. They’ll be thrilled to hear the news.”
I nodded and followed her, still slightly stunned by the day’s events. As we walked through the town, I couldn’t help but steal glances at Lucian, wondering what the future held for us as mates.
“Why don’t you guys go to the café and get to know each other while I do some shopping and finish my work here? Then we will head to the pack house.” Luna Nikki suggested, but I protested, coming out of my daze and remembering my duties and why I had come here in the first place.
Luna Nikii didn’t hear a word and insisted that we do as she said using her luna voice, and Lucian and I had no choice but to listen to her. We headed to the nearest café, a cozy little place with comfortable wooden tables and chairs. Soon, a waitress arrived and took our order.
“So, tell me something about you,”
“What do you want to know about me,”
“Everything,”
“I am the delta of Saffier pack. My father is the gamma, my big brother Sky is the beta, and my mother is the female gamma of the pack. My pack members and I have come to this town for some pack work. I was here with my friend when I smelled your scent and followed it. Oh shit,” Lucian said, realizing something.
“What happens?” I ask, worried.
“I was so lost in following your scent that I lost my friends they must be worried about me,”
Just as he was starting to panic, his phone rang. He fumbled in his pocket, pulling it out and answering it.
“Hello?” he said, his voice laced with worry.
“Lucian, where are you?” a familiar voice on the other end asked. It was his Alpha, the leader of the pack.
“I am in the cafe. I was so lost following my mate that I lost you guys,” he said while looking at me, his eyes full of love and compassion.
“You found your mate? Congratulations. Wait for us. We will be there,” his Alpha said and hung up the call.
“They will be here in no time,” Lucian informed me. Just as our order arrived, Lucian’s friends also came and took seats beside us. They also ordered their food and started talking with us. As the waitress arrived with the food, Luna Nikki arrived at our table and sat beside me.
We know they are here to discuss some pack business with Alpha Cole, and as they head to the pack house, Lucian disappears from their sight while following my scent. Luna Nikki suggested we head to the pack house together, and we agreed.
After finishing our food, we drove to the pack house. Lucian and his friends go to Alpha’s Cole office. I also want to go with them, but I can’t. I have no right to do that, and my mate will want me to pack my things and come with him. So, Luna, Nikki, and I headed towards my room to pack my things.
“It is not even a month since I became your best friend and assistant, and I have to leave for another pack,” I said with a whimper while packing my things in the bag reluctantly.
“I know, but look at the bright side. You found your mate, and he is the delta of the pack.” Luna Nikki said with a big smile on her face.
“I am going to miss you so much,” I said and embraced her in a tight hug.
“Me too. No matter how busy you are, keep in touch with me. You have my number, right?” I nodded and hid my face under the nook of her neck as tears fell from my eyes.
“If you cry like this, it would be hard for me to let you go, we have a lot of luggage to pack,” she said while caressing my back to comfort me.
“You will come to visit me, right?”
“Yes, and that goes for you too. You have to come and visit me sometimes, okay,” Luna Nikki asks, breaking the hug, and I nod my head while wiping my tears.
Just as we finished packing my things, Lucian came inside my room.
“Are you done packing?” he asks.
“Yes,” Lucian grabbed my bags and walked outside my room. Nikki and I also him. I fill the form, which Luna Nikki handed over to me, bid goodbye to everyone, got inside the car, and drove to my new house, wondering what the future had in store for me.
