“I am sorry for calling you all out of the blue like this. But I am in trouble, and I need your help. The bakery I contacted to prepare goodies to give to the leaders of other packs and clans had withdrawn their contract at the end time, and I didn’t have much time to find other bakeries and order them to prepare the goodies for me. So I decided to prepare it at the packhouse, but I can’t do it alone. I need you all to help me with it.
Of course, I would not make you work for free. You will be paid for it, and I will also distribute the remaining goodies for free after they are distributed to the guests. So are you going to help me?” Nikki asks them, and they all agree to help her.
“But Luna, what about lunch and dinner? If we get busy in the kitchen preparing goodies, who will prepare the dinner for lunch and dinner?” One of the Omega asks her.
“I have contacted a restaurant about that. They will supply food, lunch, and dinner while we are busy making goodies,” Nikki said to them.
“What about the supply and equipment?” another Omega asks her.
“I have made the arrangements for them. They will be here in an hour. I have also called Stella and asked for her help. She will be here with the Omega of her packs to help us.” Nikki informed her. Then they all go to the grand kitchen and start gathering the indigent to make goodies.
Stella arrives with Omegas just when the suppliers arrive at the castle and starts helping Nikki with loading supplies. When other pack members hear a lot of noise, they come to see what is happening in the castle with Cole, and Nikki explains everything to him.
“Why don’t you ask for help from the worker who works in your bakery?” Cole asks her.
“The people working there are humans,” Nikki said to him.
“No, not all of them are human. Some of them are werewolves too,” Cole informed her.
“Good then, can you call them and ask if they can send them here?” Nikki asked him. Cole nodded his head and called the manager of the bakery. Stella grabbed an apron from the storeroom, wore it, attached her mobile to the speaker, and started playing songs on the speaker.
Soon the employees from my bakery arrive, and I tell them to start packing chips and cookies in the basket and boxes as soon as they cool down and start helping others with goodies.
After some time, the staff member of the restaurant arrives, and I show them where to arrange the banquet. And after packing the last bunch of cookies and chips, I order others to clean the kitchen and come to the hall for dinner.
After dinner, I thanked everyone and go the nursery room to check what the twins were doing. I played with them for some time and tucked them into the bed. I kissed their forehead and went to my room to take a shower.
“There you are,” Cole said while sneaking behind me and hugging me from behind.
“What are you doing here? I thought you were busy in your office with paperwork,” I said while turning around to face him.
“I missed you so much, so I tried to finish my work early and come to find you. It has been so long since I have all of you alone to myself,” Cole said while kissing my neck and leaving hickory on my neck, I felt Kiyara stir inside my mind and growl an approval, then she tried to take control over my body, and I let her take control of my body, knowing that she missed her mate as much as I did.
I saw her grabbing Cole’s face and kissing him passionately from the sideline. I saw his eyes changing color and saw him give up after fighting with his wolf to take control of his body. I feel him lift me in his arms, and I wrap my legs around his waist. He walks to our room while still holding me in his arms and kissing me passionately.
The next day I woke up feeling sore in my legs. I turn to see him sleeping so peacefully that I can’t be able to look away from him, but I can’t because I have so much work to do. I kissed him on his forehead and tried to remove his arm from my waist without waking him up.
“Where are you going?” Cole asks, signing his grasp on my waist.
“To the washroom,” I said, planting a kiss on his lip.
“I like you right where you are,” Cole growled possessively, not allowing me to move.
“I know that you are not satisfied with spending a little time with me, but there is a lot of work we need to do. Let’s go on a short vacation such two of us after the annual function, okay?” I asked him and leaped out of his arms, earning a rumble of discontent from him. I run to the washroom before he can catch me. I take a quick shower after brushing my teeth, wear a robe, and walk to my wardrobe.
“Where are you going?” Cole asked. His voice had a distinct whiny tone to it, and I looked at him over my shoulder with a raised eyebrow. Was he whining because I was going to leave his sight for a minute?
“I am going to the kitchen. Sandy could probably use some help,” I replied, turning around and exiting the room before he could say anything else.
I walked into the kitchen to see chaos. Sandy looked ready to pull her hair out from stress. May\bel was lying flat on her back on the floor, scrambled eggs all over the place and tears in her eyes. Another young girl, maybe thirteen, was shaking her head as she leaned down to pick up the broken pieces of the platter the eggs had been in, and Sandy was ranting about the eggs but immediately broke it off when the sausage began to burn, spinning back around to get it out of the pan.
“Damn it!” Sandy exclaimed, flipping the sausage out of the pan and onto a plate.
“That was the last of the eggs! What am I supposed to cook them for breakfast to go with the sausage, Mabel?”
Sandy spun towards me in shock. “Luna!” she exclaimed. “I’m so sorry about this! This never happens, I swear. It was an accident. I’ll have breakfast ready soon.”
I gave her an easy smile. “Not to worry, Sandy. Everything is going to be okay.” I squatted down next to Mabel and said, “Hey, pretty girl, don’t cry. Everything is fine. People spill eggs all the time. We’ll just make some more.”
“We can’t!” she cried. “That was the rest of the eggs. We have no more. I screwed everything up! This is why Momma never lets me help in the kitchen!” And those tears I dreaded began falling down her cheeks.
I pulled her into my arms quickly. “Hey, now, you did awesome when you helped me make spaghetti yesterday. Accidents happen, sweetheart,” I soothed her. “We can make something else instead of eggs.” I lifted her into my arms and carried her to the island counter. I sat her on top of it, so I didn’t have to worry about her cutting her feet on any shards. “Point me to the broom.”
Mabel sniffled and pointed to a cupboard by the pantry. I walked over and pulled out the broom. Sandy jumped forward. “Please, Luna, let Rin or I do that.”
“Calm down, Sandy,” I told her. “I used to do this all the time back at home. Omegas should get help when they need it. We’ll get this all cleaned up and find something else to make for breakfast this morning.”
I squatted down and started brushing the shards and eggs into the dustpan while Rin and Sandy watched me in shock. Mabel didn’t seem to be too surprised by my behavior. I made quick work of the mess and dumped the pan in the trash.
“Good. Now, let’s save breakfast, shall we?” I ask while smiling at them, and they smile back at me.
