It has been a week since we moved here and Ryan said he wanted to help Cole but wasn’t able to do that because, Alok has found out that someone is helping Cole from his coven, giving Cole clues about our whereabouts. By now, I have learned everything about Kelvin, his likes, his dislikes, and his life as a lone wolf when he is conscious, because due to regular or should I say everyday beatings he mostly stayed passed out due to pain.
Yes, you have heard it right, they beat him every day. It has become their routine to beat him every day morning and night and for me to clean his wounds and put the medicine on his wounds, which Ryan manages to get us behind their back so that he can heal quickly. I am both surprised and glad that he is still alive after all this beating because I would not know what would, I do if anything happened to him, which reminds me I never thanked him for being here for me.
“Kelvin,” I call him.
“Huh,” he hummed at me with a groan of pain due to a recent beating he had to get a few hours ago.
“Thank you, so much,” I said caressing his head.
“For what?” he asks opening his eyes to look at me.
“For being there for me, because if you weren’t here for me, I would have gone insane by now,” I said smiling at him.
“No need to thank me, munching, I am just doing what I am supposed to do,” he said with a painful smile on his face.
“I just hope he finds us soon, I don’t like to see you like this,” I said and a tear falls from my eyes and I feel his hand brush away my tears gently.
“Don’t cry munchkin, I know he will, we just needed to be patient,” he said caressing my cheek.
“He is right, Nikki, he will be here soon,” Ryan said while walking towards our cage with the first aid box and a tray filled with food for us to eat.
“What do you mean by that Ryan?” I ask him. He looks at his surroundings making sure that no one is there to ear drop us.
“I was gone hunting today when I was returning from hunting I saw some of your pack members hiding behind the bushes to keep an eye on us,” he said passing the first aid kit and food tray to us.
“You are lying to us, you are only saying this to make us feel better,” I said pouting at him.
“Now, what made you think that?” he asks me.
“If they have found us then why didn’t they come to my rescue,” I ask him.
“Maybe because they were waiting for their Alpha to join them,” this time it was Kelvin who answered me.
“If you say so,” I said but still didn’t believe them. I change his bandages with the help of Ryan, then feed Kelvin and then feed myself and give the kit and the tray back to Ryan and he walks away from there. I sit in silence beside him praying to the moon goddess that what Ryan told us was true. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t notice that it was almost dawn and got startled when Kelvin called for me.
“Munchin, I think they are not going to come today, why don’t you relax and get some rest,” Kelvin said to me but I wanted to be awake to clean his wounds and bandage him, so I shook my head at him.
“Fine but at least come and lay down beside me,” he pleaded to me and I gave up and slipped inside the blanket beside him. And I don’t know when I fall asleep beside him. I wake feeling someone shaking me gently. I groggily open my eyes and look at him.
“What is it?” I ask him in a sleepy voice while rubbing my eyes to drive the remaining sleep away.
“There is fighting outside, this is the excellent time to escape, I have to find out the way to get out of here,” he said getting out of the blanket and grabbing the bar and trying to break it, pain is seen on his face.
“Stop it, Kelvin or you will hurt yourself more than you already are, ” I said taking his hands away from the bar and looking at it, it was burned due to silver.
“It’s okay, it will heal itself, but first we have to get out of here,” he said and then we heard the footsteps and turned to see Hunter walking toward us.
“So, I finally had you for myself,” He said while walking toward us with a smirk on his face. Kelvin comes in front of me and growls at him.
“What do you think, you can fight with me mutt?” Hunter asks him with a chuckle.
“Well then let’s do it, shall we?” Hunter asks with a smirk on his face Kelvin attacks him and they start to fight each other. Kelvin keeps trying to punch him but fails because he is still weak due to today’s beating and because Hunter is very fast and stronger than him.
Hunter punches Kelvin in the face and throws him away, Kelvin’s face is smashed by the rod which is holding the tent and he falls to the ground with a groan of pain. Then Hunter started to walk towards me while licking his face.
He grabbed me by my neck put his face in my hair and sniffed at me while I tried my best to kick him and punch him to make him let me go.
“Damn you smell, so good,” he whispers near my ear and I felt his fangs on the skin of my neck and close my eyes waiting for him to get over with it, but it never happens. I heard the voice of something snapping and felt his hold on my neck getting lost. I removed his hands from my neck and fell on my legs.
I turn and see Ryan glaring at his dead body and sigh in relief. I run towards Kelvin and shake him trying to wake him up. He groans in pain and opens his eyes to look at me, and I help him to get on his leg.
“You okay there? Do you think you will be able to protect her?” Ryan asks him and Kelvin nods his head at him.
“Are you sure, I would not mind sending someone with you guy?” Ryan asks and Kelvin nods his head at him.
“Here,” Ryan said throwing the clothes at Kelvin, Kelvin caught them and wore his clothes and helped me wearing a jacket that reached to my knees.
“There is a fight going on outside the camp, go outside the camp from behind and hide somewhere until me, Trevor or Cole come and find you,” Ryan said and turned to leave them but I stopped him.
“And what about you?” I ask while grabbing his hand to stop him.
“I will be fine, don’t worry about me, I have some things to do, and when I am done with it, I will find you and help you find Cole or Trevor okay,” he said looking at me with a small smile on his face. I nodded at him and walked away from there with Kelvin. We walk behind the camp and hide behind the bushes from where we can see werewolves fighting with each other and some werewolves fighting with vampires but they cannot see us.
