Jake’s POV
My wolf senses someone trying to send a mind message but I am in the living room currently. I’ve reported Jack to Alex and he’s on his way to the mansion. He said he was going to come visit us anyway. Jack has fixed a frown on his face ever since then and didn’t dare touch Samantha.
I’ve been spending up to a thousand dollar daily for Samantha’s upkeep, yet Jack hasn’t given her a dime. He claims he can’t be having sex with her and at the same time, giving her money. He called it PROSTITUTION.
“I should have the rights to have sex with my mate anytime I’m in the mood, tired or not, she must bend her ass to shape in my cock.” He had angrily said, even in the front of Samantha. I think by now she knows who to cling to, better, out of Jack and I.
I humbly request my wolf to provide the name of the wolf that had wanted to send me a mind message but it fails to. I heave a deep sigh of relief when a mind message pops up again. As I listen to the voice, I detect who it is, immediately.
“Organize a meeting. Choose your betas. Anyone who feels like quitting the pack, don’t threaten any of them. Just make sure they all gather in the basement and kill them there after the meeting.” He orders and disconnects from the mind link. I thought he’d ask me if I heard him clearly. What if I didn’t?
Well, I was going to call a meeting anyways and it looks like some kind of coincidence now. It’s a few minutes to the next day but Alex hasn’t arrived here yet. I have been planning to hold the meeting after meeting Alex and explaining a lot of stuff to him so he doesn’t get to listen from one side of the story alone, which would make him disbelieve whatever I say when I return.
I have been given the scent of the wolves and the direction of the hall but I don’t deem it fit to call a meeting around this time of the day. After a few more minutes, the mind link comes upon me like a rock dropping on the ground forcefully, yet not splitting up.
“Do you want to die?” He asks.
“Die? How? Why would you say that?” I muster courage to talk back at him. If he ain’t careful, I’ll ensure I whoop his ass and leave his pack. I’ll seek means to be immortal. I’m a vampire as well, probably he doesn’t know. My vampire self is immortal but my wolf self is mortal, though it can live for ten times the number of years mere humans can live.
“Organize the damn meeting now!” He yells at me as his voice fades. I quickly rise up as it seems like someone is real around me and has made that scrsam. I gather myself together as I walk out of the living room, heading straight to our secret room, the big expansive hall.
As I get there, a few wolves begin to enter already as I assume Blake has informed them about this already. I remain standing on the podium, expecting all of them to be full. Once the seats aren’t full, it shows that they aren’t complete yet.
We don’t always have new members. So there’s no way a new member can replace an old member by taking the seat. After they finally gather massively, I notice three empty seats as I gently enter my mind link to question Blake if he’s held any of them down.
“Hey, Blake. It’s me. Three missing wolves. Did you hold them back?” I ask.
“More than that.” He retorts as I no longer hear anymore words from him. I shrug my shoulders as I approach the audience to address them.
“I’d like to choose betas that’ll be under my rule and the favor of the pack. If you’re interested and can do something like this, mount the podium.” I say as I drop the microphone.
Suddenly, a sharp message strikes me hard as I struggle to maintain composure. I hold my chest firmly as I contact my wolf to solicit with whoever was trying to mind link me, to be calm, as I am under pressure but I realize my wolf has fallen silent after that great strike.
I apologize to the audience waiting for my speech. Times like this, subject Beta’s should be around to help and that was what I was gonna do.
“Jake! You motherfucker! See what dad has done to me!” He wails, through the mind link. I wonder what the mess might be all about but one thing I’m certain about, dad’s back to the mansion and has begun organizing things and placing things in the way they should have been ever since he left.
I order my wolf to cancel any message request from Jack’s mind link. It weakly responds but I don’t mind as I hurriedly address the audience.
Fifteen men, both burly able-bodied and weak, are on the podium, waiting for me to choose between them.
“Let’s vote!” I cheer for he audience but they protest, claiming I should choose them by myself. I don’t have the power to control them further as I give in and choose the wolves to be my beta, all by myself.
I finally choose three of them as the remaining twelve grunt, but relent after I growl at them. They hurriedly walk away from the podium to their respective seats.
“With the authority given to me by Alpha Blake, I hereby appoint Francis, George and Mayor as my auxiliary betas. They can assist you in whatever way you want. And if there’s a bigger case, it should be brought to me personally.” I inform, as everyone applauds. It seems like they are happy about my decisions. But I sincerely hope there’s nothing else behind it.
I dispatch them as I hurriedly walk out of the hall, informing the newly appointed Betas to see me by the following morning. I needed to get my ass down to the mansion. There could be fire on the mountain.
