Harley’s POV
“I was just testing a gun we’d use for tonight’s training. Trust me, no one died. I wasn’t given that order to kill anyhow.” I try to convince them as I place the gun to the ground and they slowly nod their heads, believing my lies.
“Thanks for clearing yourself.” One of them says, too shocked to absorb all I’ve explained, as she leaves to continue her work. I keep eyeing each of them to know who’s still suspecting me so I’d know the next people to fire.
But what if there are actually people that suspect me so strongly but don’t say a word or show the sign? They may exist. I hope they don’t and I’m even contended as long as they don’t get to break the door to the hallway and see the girls being sprayed on the ground.
“I have some work to do in the hallway. Why’s the door locked?” One of them suddenly asks as I jerk back to reverie. I think it’s actually a dream as I can’t tell what’s a dream from what’s real life now. It seems like I live in my imagination.
“Tell me something. Why are you suddenly numb?” She asks. I maintain composure as killing her right here will only prove to other omegas that I’ve been truly murdering a lot of omegas underneath. They are a lot, so when some gets missing, they might not be noticed. Afterall, we don’t take attendance or write names on a broadsheet but the Alpha knows the name of each of them.
“Learn to speak with me politely. I was daydreaming when I stood up to meet you.” I say as I fix a frown on my face.
“What you gonna do if I don’t? Shoot me or what?” She endears.
I feign a cheerful expression on my face to convince her that I’m not that kind of person, and primarily to convince the rest looking at us. If the girl and I were to be in some private place, she would have been stabbed. Or maybe she’s got some extraordinary powers to resist my type of attack. I don’t think so. I think the presence of everyone here is fueling her energy to talk back at me.
“Why would I fire at you? That’s never gonna happen. I’m sorry but I’ve been instructed to shut the doorway leading to the hallway, until further notice. I’m only acting under instructions.” I say and smirk a bit.
“I don’t think the Alpha or Beta said anything like that, anyway.” She says as her tone cools down now.
“Just come over here and don’t cause anymore commotion, huh? You’ve argued with her enough.” One of her friends waves at her and she hurries to catch up with them.
Jack’s POV
“I will introduce you to my father when he comes visiting. But before then, I must belong to a pack here so as t identify myself as a responsible wolf before marking you.” I whisper to her ears. She’s right inside my room, while Jake is on his bed as well. The room is spacious enough to discuss a thing at a corner and no one will hear inside the room.
“I love you.” I whisper to her again as she smiles. The smiles are really getting deep down my bones as I can’t wait to be all over her but I need to mark her first, so she’ll be mine.
“Will you join my pack then?” She suggests as I nod my head in the affirmative, but I maintain composure, asking her what kind of pack she’s talking about, whot the Alpha is, and whatnot.
“The Alpha is Jackson. Some do call him Jack.” She says
“Interesting.” I simply say, trying not to burst into exciting laugher as I am currently overly excited.
“He’s got a beta but no Luna yet. We can go see him, be in his pack and he’ll help us mark each other, huh?” She says, throwing a kiss towards my direction.
“Immediately?” I ask.
“It can be in the next hour. Let me just cook some nice stuff for you, huh? Where’s the kitchen?” She asks as I hug her from her thighs as I lead her to the kitchen to make us some nice food. As I return to the room, Jake confronts me.
“You’ve been disturbing me ever since you brought her here. You don’t only own the room. You can use the living room if you want to.” He says, anger laced with his voice.
“You shouldn’t be saying this. You’ve helped me enough to ensure I get my mate. Why sound jealous now?” I ask, feeling disappointed by his responses.
“Oh, so you think I can’t get a mate, right? Hold on, did you even bother to ask me if I’ve met my mate already.”
“Man, you said you haven’t!” I yell at him
“That was right before you met the waitress who happened to be your mate!” He screams back.
“Don’t lay blames on me. I don’t like it!”
“Shut the fuck up and get your ass out of here, womanizer.”
“Hey, don’t you ever call me that name again. I am Jack and not a womanizer. You can die out of jealousy.”
“Then do the freaking thing that’s been on your mind since we came here. Find a knife and stab me. I know you’re less concerned. Don’t try to show that you’re concerned. Stab me, motherfucker!”
Though I know I’m not gonna stab him but I rush at my luggage, remembering there’s a dagger I left there for protection sake. I retrieve it and reveal it to me. He walks angrily towards me, getting off his clothes as he endears me to kill him on the spot.
My wolf keeps getting agitated with each of his threats posed. As I make a move to give him a scar on the neck, Samantha walks inside as the tray on her hand drops to the ground.
“Jack!”
