Jack’s POV
I assume lectures have closed for the day. Well, slme students in other faculties may have lectures silently. My faculty is just the best. Faculty of computing. I’m sure Jake will argue with me till one of us lose a tooth. But he’s still right here with me as we satisfactorily someone the content in the bowl. Ice cream actually. I snap my fingers towards her, requesting that she be quick with whatever the hell she is doing. Most of the lectures have closed. Why should the ice cream shop still be open?
Even if it still open because of some students just returning from lectures, I think there should be a shift. She hurries towards my direction now as she asks, “how may I help you, sirs?”
She knows the other woman is staring at her suspiciously. Doesn’t she want to be fired? Ain’t she the manager? I don’t know why actually, but I feel her father owns the ice cream shop together with many other canteens and restaurants along the direction of this place.
“Are you done for today?” I ask as I slowly kiss her hand. The woman notices and starts coming as Sam fixes a frown on her face.
“No. You shouldn’t have done this, Jack. She’ll be mad at me. Mad at you. Mad at us.” She furiously states while trying to maintain a calm demeanor.
“I’ve got you.” Jake says and rises to face the woman as she gets to our seat.
“We’re cool. What do you want?” He inquires.
“It’s none of your business. Clear away and let me talk to those I have business with.” She says and he excuses himself but stands beside us, ready to defend any attack made with words, and against any attack made physically, against any question we might not be able to answer smartly to deceive her, or any threat posed. His expression says everything and I can feel his intentions. We’re connected in some way.
“Sir, please do not repeat that. We are totally against all forms of molestation and sexual harassment, including but not limited to touching the private parts of a lady or cuddling up a man with some ungodly intentions, trying to shift into your wolf or snarl as a vampire to scare customers away or get to the front of the queue.” She states.
“I’m glad you’re polite. There were two options for you to pick from. Either you confront me in peace or you don’t, and leave here in pieces.” I threaten as Jake bursts into laughter to further ease the tension arising in this shop as some customers’ attentions are drawn to us, as they glare suspiciously, ready to move once any illegal action is noticed.
“You can leave now. We need to discuss with her. That shouldn’t be a problem.” Jake speaks up as Sam’s eyes roll from the woman to me to Jake and keep rolling towards the next person to speak up.
“You need to do that in private.” She states.
“We never said we were going to take her to the restroom to discuss with her.” I counter as she smiles and replies, “I am sorry if I sound so harsh on you. I am only following rules. I have feelings as well. But ensure you’re not caught on camera touching her anyhow, even if not the private part. You could be expelled no matter who you are.” She says.
I begin to feel we’ve won the conversation and she’s understood that we’re either asking her out, she’s our sister, a mate to one of us, or we’re connected in a way or the other.
“Thanks ma’am for attending to us we’ll. We’re grateful.” I appreciate, extend my hands for an handshake and bow my head slightly. So also Jake does.
“Great. Impressive.” Sam’s lips widen with smiles as the woman leaves.
“Are you sure she’s not mad at you or something?” I whisper as a question as the woman isn’t totally out of sight yet.
“No, not at all. She smiled. She rarely does and she doesn’t feign it.” She retorts.
“Jack, are you trying to scare her or what? She can’t fire her no matter her calibre of power.” Jake confidently says.
“Great, but what if she owns all the companies towards the north direction of Namitha?” She asks.
“Namitha?” Jake retorts as she assumes an expressionless face.
“Anyhow. But you’ll get to know who we are, very soon. Once you know, you won’t be scared of anyone. Meet your…” Jake says and seals his lips as he pleads with me for pardon.
I shoot him a deadly glare as he softly chuckles, trying to run away so I don’t catch up and give him a biff on the nose for trying to reveal that we are mates, openly. That should be kept a secret, at least, for now.
“You speak confidently,” Sam says, turning towards Jake, “and I cherish that. But if you’re not the Alpha of the biggest packs of either wolves or vampires, not the beta, not the VC’s kid, not that woman’s kid, you shouldn’t speak like you just did. It can cost you a whole lot.”
“Don’t you worry. Meet Jack. He’s friendly.” Jake simply says and I nod my head and signal with my eyes to inform him I’ll be right back. I lead Sam back to the store. She walks there first and I move behind her after three minutes, as the woman is occupied along her other subjects, serving bowls of ice creams to potential customers. I move to the store to get to know my mate better, while she is yet busy.
Jake’s surely gonna wait for me as he loves gist and feedback, especially about relevant stuff like mating.
“Are you sure you want me as a mate?” She suddenly rolls her eyes wildly as I slam the door shut.
“Why not?” I ask, shrugging my shoulders as I walk up to her. She almost scared me with the question that also came from her lips with an expression that matches the question.
“Do you know my breed?” She asks.
“The worse is to reject you as a mate. Are you trying to be dominant over me? Who are you?” I ask as I pin her to the wall before she slowly says, “a pure Werewolf. Wanna see your reaction.”
