Dominic’s POV
“Get out of my pack. What else do you want from me?” I scream on top of lungs as Nora isn’t willing to leave my pack. I don’t know what she wants me to do that I haven’t done for her. How can she permit the kids to walk down to Alex’s pack? Now Alex has masked the scent of his pack and I can’t trace it. I can’t even remember the direction leading to his pack.
“I will get mad and do what you don’t expect me to do if you don’t leave now! Get away!” I yell and push her to the ground. She isn’t willing to obey me while I am not violent with my actions yet.
“It’s the middle of the night. How can you send me out of your pack? I swear by the moon goddess that I don’t know how Jack and Jake left the pack. I was just informed about their presence with Alex. He sent me a mind message.” She retorts.
“You think I’m so dumb to believe you, huh?” I ask, as I get inside my room to get my rod. I sight Harley at a corner, visibly shaking, so I won’t come for her. I’m not sure if she’s involved in this, afterall she didn’t mention anything about the kids. Just what she knows about Alex and Amanda.
I look at her direction and fume. Afterwards, I sigh and turn to face Nora now.
“It’s the mother of your kids. Your wolves will soon be out now to check what’s happening.” She says.
“I don’t care who comes. They will go for it if they go beyond your boundary,” I respond, “do you want me to help you with the luggage?”
“So you want me to head to Alex’s pack?”
“Isn’t that your plan? You know I’ll be so mad at you and can do anything. I can take any decision when I am very angry. You know that and that’s why you made me angry. You planned this and now that it has worked, why wait?” I ask.
“This isn’t my plan. It’s yours. You want to have Harley fully to yourself so I don’t get to see you both.” She says.
“Where is.. my…” I stutter as I run back inside my room to retrieve my handgun. She speeds away from the pack before I arrive but I still fire shots at her direction. I will be glad to realize she’s injured but I’m not sure. I can’t hear any screams. Just receding thuds. She should be back to take her luggage from the pack. What arrant nonsense.
As I get into the room, I see Harley in bed, winking her eyes at me and seducing me to come have another taste of her. I strap the gun to my fingers as I fire shots at her. She rolls down the bed before the bullets penetrate into her body as she remains under the bed. I struggle to control myself as I fling the handgun to another direction. My beta should have heard that or is he just afraid to come check what’s going on?
Nora’s POV
When Alexander was trying to convince me not to leave his pack, I didn’t obey him totally. Not that I was really interested in returning to Dominic’s pack but because of some reasons, I did. Now, it’s around 2am and he’s sent me out of his pack all because I didn’t claim to be the one behind the missing kids. I shake my head and walk towards Alex’s pack. I can still sniff the scent of the pack but it’s a little bit difficult to trace.
I decide to send a message to Alex through the mind link and he connects immediately I request for it.
“Hey Alex. I’m stranded. Can I stay overnight at your pack?” I ask and he bursts into laughter.
“Is this a joke, a prank or what?” He inquires.
“I’m being serious. Can’t you feel what I’m feeling through this link? Aren’t you connected to me anymore?” I ask as I begin to get angry at him.
“You aren’t my friend. You claim the kids are Dominic’s. Be with Dominic and the kids please and don’t contact me again.” He responds.
“Don’t disconnect yet please,” I quickly say, “I know the kids are with you and they are yours. Let me get to your pack first. Everything will be explained.”
“This looks like a trap.” He responds. This time, his voice sounds muffled.
“I swear by the moon goddess, it isn’t.”
“I’ll pick you up by the fourth avenue in Lourntha Highway.” He says and disconnects. I run towards that direction as I can sight a rogue right behind me. I don’t have the energy to fight rogues at this time, so running towards the street where people are present is the best solution as the rogue will back off right before it gets to the street.
As I get to the highway, I sight him at a corner, waving at me. He claims to have been waiting for a while now.
“Why does your voice sound rough? Why do you look so unkempt? Tell me this isn’t a trap.” He says.
“If I want to trap you, I can’t do so this way.” I respond. He extends his hands towards me and walks me down to his pack. I catch a whiff of someone’s scent suddenly, someone close to me but the scent quickly vanishes before I can call Alex’s attention to it.
My lips move but don’t say a word. Alex looks in my direction and shakes his head slightly, thinking I am running mad already.
“The kids are with me. How did you know?” He asks.
“I was informed.”
“By who? The kids? They don’t even have the mind message ability. They don’t have a wolf yet.”
“Calm down. I never said the kids informed me. My wolf did. My wolf knows where my kids are located.” I say.
“This is a joke. Why did your wolf not reveal the location of the kids when they got lost in the jungle? The time Dominic summoned dad, remember?”
“Yes, remember.” I respond, “the time for them to have a wolf is drawing much closer and my wolf is upgrading because of that. They are almost eighteen years of age and they’ll be having their wolves soon.”
“Though I am not fully convinced, but I can take your words as true.” He responds as we get into the pack.
He suddenly turns to me and asks, “did you say you wanna meet the kids?”
“Yes, I want to. Where are they?” I ask.
“Sam should take you there.” He responds and calls a tall guy to lead me to my kids’ room. He pulls me into a hug and whispers into my ears, “you can stay with the kids overnight. We’ll sort out your accomodation by noon. Lastly, don’t get smart. The security here is tight enough to chain even dragons. I hope you have a sound sleep.” He says and plants a kiss on my forehead.
“Sure,” I chuckle and wave at him as he heads to his quarters. Since he said my accomodation will be sorted out the following day, I don’t care why he doesn’t want me to be in his quarters. I mean, I should have full access. Or does he have a mate already? He seems to be connected to someone else apart from me. I can’t point to a proof but I assume it is true. Very true.
“Please follow this way, ma’am.” He says and as we almost reach where my kids are, I try to get in forcefully but he holds me back.
“Please follow all the rules and protocols laid down. It’s for our benefit.” He says as I wash my hands before I get in. This isn’t a COVID-19 period. Why must I do this essentially? I shrug my shoulders as he points at a big, official and beautifully furnished room.
“This belongs to Jack and Jake.” He says, “I’ll take my leave now and you can get in. They’ll open the door for you. Just ring the doorbell.”
“Thank you, mister.” I appreciate and he responds with a smirk as he leaves. I adjust my clothes as I can’t wait to meet my kids again, now in a great place where there is peace and security. I ring the doorbell now, waiting for a response from them.
