As I wobble out of the bar shop, a lighthearted thought drops to my mind. I move out of the bar’s sight, even stopping vehicles to cross. My eyes are heavy but I can still move and sense things around me.
Until I walk into the jungle miles away from the street, I don’t say a word to anyone. I don’t wonder how I am able to walk that distance since my wolf is very active.
The thought drops to my mind again as I begin to reason with myself. What does Amanda want that she doesn’t have? She can easily come to my pack and be mine. I just have to sign a deal with Nora and Dominic, even if it means to release the kids to him and ensure they see him as their father. There must be some ulterior motives behind her foul play.
I had let it go. I can’t call her back now that I don’t even have her contact. She only promised to put a call through to me once she is ready to chat me up. I don’t think her social media name will be Amanda or include Amanda. She wouldn’t want to chat Dominic up. Or am I just overthinking this?
I let it slide as I decide to stretch my muscles. I can sight a rogue very close to me but sneaking. I am not certain if it has seen me but I can clearly see it about to lunge an attack at me. I won’t be recorded by any, it’s the jungle.
“Let’s play some game. Come on, coward!” I endear the rogue as it growls intensely, and the ground shakes due to the intensity and deepness of its sound. I am not moved by that, anyways.
I notice a thing about it. It remains at a spot like a dog that has been chained to a corner. It looks familiar for doing so. A rogue had stopped my mother like this in times past and we later realized it was her uncle.
I wave at it as I carefully tread the path towards it. I hope it’s not a trap. I tread as meticulously quietly as ever as I am planning the next line of action incase it turns out to be a trap.
It returns to his human form suddenly and I see that it is a girl. A lady. How come she’s very big and huge?
“Who are you?” I ask, as I begin to shiver and take few steps back. Funny thing is, she’s clad in clothes after returning to human form. How did she do that? Was she so fast to wear it or she’s just a different type of breed?
“I’m Prady. Nice to meet you. Where are my friends?” She asks.
“Friends?” I retort, rolling my eyes gently at her. What friends could she be talking about?
“Yes. Jack and Jake.” She clarifies. I breathe a sigh of relief. I think I’ve heard her name from either Jack or Jake before now.
“What do you need them for, anyways?” I inquire as she walks me somewhere deeper in the jungle. We sit by the tree and she responds.
“They ran away from our master.” She suddenly says.
“What master?” I ask.
“Jack didn’t tell you he had to sign a covenant with us before he would be released?” She suddenly asks.
“Damn. Ugh. He’d never do such. I trust Jack for that.” I spit at the ground as I irritatedly look at her.
“He doesn’t have a mind link yet. I would have contacted him right away and I will even connect your mind link to ours.” She says.
“What’s your point now?” I ask, my arms folded across my chest.
“I need the kids or you follow me.” She says.
“Do you have an idea who I am?”
“Exactly where I am going to. All your wolves will breathe their last before dawn if you fail to provide what we ask,” she says and shows me a video recording on her phone where wolves marched into my pack and begin to hit my wolves mercilessly.
“We will chain all of them and burn them with silver.” She says and her lips curl into a smirk as she asks again, “are you going to comply or I can take my leave.”
I heave a deep sigh of confusion but notice her stares are still on me. She badly needs a response from me.
“Take your leave.” I command as my wolf growls intensely. I pin her to the tree as my body becomes hairy and irritating. I haven’t shifted to my wolf yet. I am in the process as my wolf is reconsidering returning me to my human self.
“Should I choke you to death or you promise not to mention what you just mentioned. Don’t forget that it can cost your life.” I inform and chuckle slightly.
“Actually. Jack and Jake have been captured. So don’t waste your time. I saved your fucking kids! Fine, they didn’t sign any covenant. But I think we can relate together, can we not?”
“I’ve never been against that.” I respond as my brain clicks to something.
“Prady. I am the girl Jake was speaking to, the other day, on the field, when you called for him.” She informs.
I suddenly remember as I pull her in for a hug. I playfully give her a knock on the forehead, blaming her for not saying something related to that ever since she met me.
“Did you want to kill me? If not, why did you approach me with your wolf?” I ask as we both settle to sit.
“Safety. You know? Just saying.” She compliments as I chuckle again.
“Let’s head to the pack.”
“Yours or Dominic’s?” I ask.
“Yours. I can be your beta moving forward. Your beta is a coward and a tyrant.” She informs.
“Prady, how can a coward be a tyrant?” I playfully ask, expecting to see her response.
“Don’t ask me,” she responds and feigns a smile across her chin, “when we get there, you’ll know. I am not a vampire but I can move you fast.”
“Let’s go.” I finally comply as we move fast through the jungle and within an hour, we reach my pack.
“Such a long journey. We could have easily passed the main road.” I complain.
She creases her forehead as she responds, “where we will be seen and captured? You talk with your dick, man. Shut up already and let’s maintain focus.”
She does look eighteen but she speaks twenty four. I shake my head to her swift speech and moves. I follow her behind as we finally enter my pack. No security wolf was by the gate. She suddenly stops in her tracks as she allows me walk in her pace.
She pulls my ears closer to her lips as she whispers, “my werewolves are right here to destroy yours. I will ask them to stop. But your voice has to be the louder. So they’ll regain the trust they once had in you that you can save them from troubles.”
I high-five with her as we walk further into the pack. I can see everyone’s chest flat to the ground, including the ladies. I sigh shakily as I scream, “leave them alone!!”
I can see the change in Prady’s eyes. It seems like she is trying to mind link someone. Maybe those men. For them to listen to me after screaming. They suddenly stop hitting the chained wolves as one of the burly men confronts me.
I push him to the ground and retrieve the pocket knife from my pocket as I stab him several times.
“Why did you kill him?” His other friends confront me but I didn’t even prepare for them before I send all of them to the ground. The master clicks a gun as he straps his fingers at the trigger. He asks me to drop any weapon with me or he will fire the shoots. I chuckle softly and drop the knife but on the man’s throat.
“You all should escape. Free them all!” I order Prady as though I am the one to be credited for this bravery. Little do they know that it’s same Prady that informed me about everything, including the number of men that were involved in this scene.
She finally releases everyone as they cough out loud. The men I killed are being packed to the dungeon so the centre of the pack. It shows that not everyone was victimized by this people and the person that victimizers people remains one.
Prady walks up to me as she asks if I would mind a drink.
“With this your brave attitude, won’t you help me find Jack and Jake?” I ask, hoping for a positive response.
“Not immediately. Announce me as the beta for the pack first and you’ll see that Jack will come here to confirm.” She says as I nod my head in the affirmative, believing that she’s got something upstairs.
