NORA
“PLEASE!!” I scream, for the umpteenth time.
“I love those round lips becoming pale due to the pleas for help!” He screams in return, laughing manically. He sprints towards me suddenly, as he injects me thrice with wolfsbane.
“Let’s see how your wolf shifts and save you!” He cackles after saying this. My breaths tremble at his acts as I begin to imagine how ruthless he would be, if I had been with him since day one.
“Remember the day you saved me? From the rogues that attacked?”
“Nor rogues!!! My werewolves. OK?” He hollers from a distance.
“But you don’t mind being called a rogue to achieve a purpose. Huh?” I sneer.
“You’d suck my cock if you don’t refrain from those words. My wolves return this evening and my important wolves will welcome you back to the pack. We’ll throw a party, not for the previous purpose, but to celebrate your inability to escape this time around.”
“Can I go see my kids? Please! Dominic!”
“I can do that. You’re only permitted to scream my name that way, when we’re in bed. I don’t think I want that now. Harley satisfies me every single moment. I love that slut.” His words disgust me as they escape his lips, I roll my eyes at him but there’s no how to escape if he doesn’t permit it.
“Harley Donovan? The silly maid? She also went to Alex’s pack?” I inquire as he delivers a stinging slap to my face.
“How could you call her a silly maid?” He speaks, his voice laced with fury.
“Yes. She also went. If you’re not blind, you should know no one is in this pack presently aside the Alpha of the pack and a long-time slut that has two kids for the Alpha.”
I decide to keep silent to those words. Speaking would only enervate me.
“I just got a mind link message. They’re on their way back home.”
“With Amanda? I’ve never met her in my pack.”
“And you’ve lived there for over ten years.” He snuggles.
“I insist that you release me!” I scream.
He rather jerks the door open as he invites a wild dog to pounce on my flesh. He winks at me, and mocks me for being fearful.
“I will kill you easily if you don’t cooperate.” He says.
“What’s there to cooperate about? You chained me in the name of saving me, didn’t you?”
“If I told you I wanted to chain you, would you follow me to my pack? Some people think like fowls.”
“This dog can’t hurt a werewolf.”
“I can experiment on you. This dog needs to reproduce as well. I want you to give your body for it. Once you reproduce for the dog, I will release you. If not, you’ll proceed to the pack cell and rot there.”
I remember how safe the pack cell was, for one of my friends. Chill. Not a physical friend. A particular character in a novel I read. He made the pack cell safe for himself and the victims there. He empowered himself through different ways. He even had to kill one of the victims so he could have more power. I don’t understand how that could be as a wolf. Only warlocks or vampires should be able to do that.
All in all, I think choosing the pack cell over having sex with a mere dog is best.
“I can never have sex with this irritating figure.”
The dog barks after I utter those words. Like, does it understand English?
He guides the dog out of the room. Shutting the door, he slowly walk towards me but I can see an object strapped to his fingers glistening intensely. When he reaches me, he turns on the switch. It’s right behind me.
He’s clutched a knife to his hands.
I chuckle softly to ease the tension. “Do you want to kill me? Huh? Do it right here, coward!”
His veins pop to the word, “coward” but he exercises patience. I call him a coward a few more times but as he tries to hit me with the knife, his eyes glisten and I’m sure it’s a message from his wolves. An urgent one.
The knife drops to the ground and I struggle to grasp it. I keep it behind me after I do. He’s still listening to the one speaking through mind link.
He returns suddenly as he begins to breathe uncontrollably.
“Harley is in Alex’s room.” He says, feeling guilty for sending her there.
“How could you send a slut to an Alpha? That’s her work. She’ll be enticed. Not even when money is involved.”
“I didn’t ask for your opinion, loser.” He says, still sounding confused. I pick the knife, intending to throw it at him but I keep it before he notices. Should he move out of this room, I’ll try to remove the chains with it. I’d try my best.
“What about your wolves? Did they find Amanda?”
“Yes. But she was raped by someone. She didn’t disclose the rapist’s identity.”
“I have never encountered any wolf in my pack raping another wolf. It might be a leader wolf, or probably her mate she rejected.”
“Did she reject her mate?”
“You don’t need my opinion, so-called winner.”
He grits his teeth as he points his fingers at me, warning me openly to be careful about my words that sound like comebacks.
“They’d soon be here. Anyways, I’m glad Amanda is around.”
“What if her power has been shared by the one who fucked her?” I ask.
“We’ll get to know.”
And then, he exits the room, without looking back. I seize the opportunity, grasping the knife with my lips and cutting off the chains.
It starts to get off my hands but I hear some steps approaching when I’m only halfway escaping. It is Dominic.
He enters the room suddenly, panting heavily. He shuts the door tightly, laying his back on the wall. He doesn’t even move any closer. I continue cutting off the chains but they don’t respond on time, unlike in his absence. I guess the tension is behind it.
“Harley shouldn’t have done that! Goodness!” He wails. I squint my eyes to check his expression if he’s trying to set a trap for me or he means his words.
“What did she do?!” I scream, as I seize the chance to keep cutting off the chains without hesitating. “What the hell did she do?!!”
“She killed someone in your pack. A very important person.”
My mind experiences calm when he mentions that. I thought she killed Alex but I have a rethink? He didn’t say she killed Alex’s wolf, he said she killed someone important in my pack.
“Is it Alex?”
“No. He’s got a unique name. The wolves will hunt us down very soon. I need you to protect us, Nora. You have a special scent since you were human and was turned by the leader of your pack. I was born as a wolf, I wasn’t turned.” He roughly says and loosens the chain. I regret trying to free myself when he does that easily now. If only we have a chance to know what our future entails, we won’t stress ourselves the way we do.
