Trapped

He flings my backpack and luggage at him, kicking me out of his pack. This is my worst nightmare and I’d never imagine Alex can do half of this to me. I switch my thoughts as I can’t return to Dominic, he’d make proper jest of me. Afterall, it is said that he’s become a rogue and his werewolves have joined Alex’s wolves. That could have gotten to his head and made him act so proudly. I begin to take a walk into the forest to find shelter since there’s no other place to go. If there’s a secure place to keep my luggage, I’d just relocate to anywhere close to Jack’s high school, so I’ll spy on him and his brother.
As I lower my head and sit on the floor in the forest, I notice a different shadow approaching. I am pressed to lift my head. It’s a hunter. There’s a gun strapped across his fingers, ready to fire bullets at me if I don’t identify myself as soon as possible.
“I’m Nora, I’m not a rogue. A Luna for that pack. I-I was…” I stammer, when I realize I can’t claim to be the Luna anymore since my load is right with me.
“You were banned from the pack. That also means you’re a rogue.” He asserts with a smirk across his lips. He straps the gun more tightly to his fingers, almost pulling the trigger.
I rise to my feet to threaten him, maybe it’ll pay off.
“When last did a werewolf die as a result of mere bullets?” I inquire, very close to him.
“Not so long ago. I didn’t wait to be sure she died but I can confirm that now.” He mentions and takes a few steps back but I sprint forward so the gap between us doesn’t give any room for him to be able to fire the bullets at me.
He pulls the trigger suddenly but I evade the bullets. The screams of a commanding presence makes him pause the attack. He turns to face back but I remain on the floor, after being hit by just one bullet. I couldn’t avoid all. I’m not a pro at it.
I squint my eyes to confirm the figure that saved me with his screams but my wolf utilizes all of her energy into healing me, rather than improving my eyesight. When the figure reaches our side, it is Dominic.
“Stupid rogue!” The hunter angrily asserts, as he grabs his gun again, and pulls the trigger but Dominic falls on top of him and begins to attack. Hair sprouts from the hunter’s sling and grows across all his body. He is indeed a werewolf. Not a regular hunter that we can murder with just a twist of his head.
Dominic slightly rises from on top of him, scrutinizing the best step to take. I carefully watch his actions but I can’t utter a word or make a move. The bullet indeed has enervated me. Thanks to my wolf for always finding a cure to my wounds.
The hunter growls suddenly as he pounces on Dominic. Before Dominic falls under him, he flings a tiny object at me. I catch it perfectly and hide it when the hunter seeks to confirm what it is, with his glares. I inspect the object and discover it is silver injection. Oh, how it works.
I guess he’s been deliberating on how to inject it with him unawares but doesn’t want to give it to me since I’m too weak to stand. He’s got no other option than to do that. I rise immediately, but stealthily and hit the hunter with it. I quickly grasp the gun from his reach, as I stand a few meters away, endearing him to approach and attack. His wolf falls to the ground, as he groans due to the pain inflicted by the silver injection.
Only God knows what kind of substance was mixed together to collate silver injection. The stuff is just very powerful. No other word drops to my mind aside ESCAPE. I lift my piece of luggage with my backpack as I hurry after Dominic. I’m certain I have much more possessions in Alex’s pack and I’m going to retrieve them. It’s not time yet. Let me confirm what transpired between Dominic and his wolves that made them turn their backs to him and join Alex’s pack.
As we get out of the hunter’s reach, we head to Dominic’s pack through a different path, not the normal path we could have trod, all because we don’t want the hunter to track us or catch a whiff of our scent.
As we reach his pack, it is void indeed and I can see blood splattered at some corners. I start to conclude that fight occured before the separation. He guides me to his quarters and retrieves the luggage from my hands, placing them inside his wardrobe.
“I didn’t join Alex. I wouldn’t do that.” He begins to unfold, though I didn’t ask him any question.
“You’re being tactical, correct?”
“Correct. There’s a particular werewolf in his pack. She’s Amanda. She has a very strong power and Alex hasn’t learnt about it…”
I interrupt, sighing deeply, “couldn’t you send just your Beta or a few of them? Why all of your wolves?”
“It’s a plan, Nora. We need to seize the girl and bring her to my pack. And again, I have sniffed the scent of Alex’s pack and I can detect the presence of any of his wolves if around me or my pack. Each of my wolf needs to do that because as soon as Alex realizes we have abducted a golden wolf from his pack, he’d kill to have her pack.”
“Will one of your wolves pretend to have her as his mate?” I inquire.
He chuckles softly, “it’s my work. Leave that to me. I’m glad that Jack has resumed school anyways. I visited him at a time and rescued him from a bully Alpha.”
“I’d like to relocate to anywhere close to his school.” I reveal.
“You won’t always be with him.” He rebuffs.
I shrug, “yes, I know. Do you need me to act against Alex?”
“No. We’re cool. Thanks.”
I roll my eyes at him, “that’s to say you don’t trust me with your secret.”
“It’s not really about that. You lived with my brother for over ten years. He even raised my kids. How could I trust you with an information against him?”
“Didn’t you just reveal your plans to steal from him?” I smirk, as I inquire.
He chuckles evilly, “yes, I did that because you can’t leave this pack until I release you. By then, the information won’t be relevant anymore. Alex might have gone for it.”
I try to stand from the chair but I’m being pulled back by the strong chains. This man actually chained me, what a trap! I’m so silly not to have noticed this. Damn.
“What are you doing, Dominic?” I raise my voice at him, as he intends to leave the room.
“You’ll soon understand, pretty girl.” A sly smile plays on his lips as those words escape.
