“Anyway, I’m sure Kairos didn’t see me.”
Almost every day Julia recited that sentence. Still feeling anxious, afraid that the other day Kairos caught sight of her enjoying dinner with Santiago.
For whatever reason, Julia knew Kairos was a leaky guy who liked to meddle in other people’s affairs. If he found out she was cheating, it was certain Kairos would report it to Edward.

However, Julia would try to cover up the affair scandal she had been carrying on with Edward. However, she did not want her marriage to fall apart.
Again, even though she didn’t love Edward, Julia needed the status of being the wife of a conglomerate. Moreover, there were many privileges and benefits she received as the wife and daughter-in-law of the Darkwood family.

Still in bed, Julia deliberately made a video call. She wanted to see what her husband was doing at home.
“Aren’t you working? It’s already past eight. Why are you still at home?”
From the beginning, Edward hadn’t told Julia anything about taking a leave. He just didn’t feel like it if his wife got suspicious or asked too many questions. Like now, for example.
“I’m feeling unwell. That’s why I decided not to work today.”
“Oh God,” Julia exclaimed. She put on a worried face when Edward said he wasn’t feeling well. “Have you been to the doctor? Or should I call the family doctor to check on you? I’m afraid you might—”
“Julia,” Edward sighed. He stopped his wife’s rambling. “I’m just feeling unwell. Not seriously ill.”
“I’m just worried about you, Honey.”
“Don’t overdo it.”
“Fine then. So, how did Bella’s prenatal checkup go last night? Any complaints?”
Edward shook his head.
“Fortunately, there weren’t any. The baby’s condition is also healthy and developing significantly.”
“Thank goodness. Just so you know, I can’t wait for our baby to be born in a few months. If it’s a girl, she’ll be as beautiful as me.”
Edward just sighed. His face looked sour. He felt Julia’s words just now weren’t sincere at all.
“Why?” Julia asked when she realized Edward’s expression seemed displeased. “Is there something wrong with what I said?”
“I just find it amusing.”
Julia furrowed her brow.
“Amusing?”
“Yeah. If you’re so enthusiastic, why weren’t you the one pregnant with our child yesterday? Why does it have to be—”
“Oh, come on, Edward. I don’t feel like discussing this kind of thing. Didn’t we agree not to bring it up again? Or do you still hope I’ll conceive our own baby?”
Edward fell silent. For now, he couldn’t agree. If Julia got pregnant, it would be hard for him to break free from his wife.
“Why so quiet?” Julia pursued.
“Alright then. Let’s just forget it.”
Julia smiled. Glancing at the clock on the nightstand, she intended to end the phone call.
“Alright then. I need to get ready. Today, I plan to leave for Rome.”
“Be careful.”
“Of course,” Julia quickly replied. “I’ll let you know once I arrive in Rome. See you later, love you!”
Edward didn’t respond. As soon as the call ended, Julia put away her phone. Turning around, she found Santiago still sound asleep.
Since it was already nine o’clock, Julia intended to wake him up. After all, they had plans to leave for Rome this afternoon. If they didn’t get ready, Julia worried they’d miss their flight.
“Daddy… come on, wake up.”
Julia tried to wake him up. She even deliberately kissed him repeatedly and teased Santiago until he opened his eyes.
“I’m still sleepy, Julia. We only went to bed at 3 in the morning.”
Julia laughed. “Whose fault is it for demanding service all the time? And what happened in the end? You tired yourself out, didn’t you?”
“I just didn’t want to miss a single moment with you.”
“But still, you can’t beat me.”
Santiago chuckled at Julia’s teasing. Opening his eyes fully and fully conscious, he pulled Julia until she moved under his body.
“You’re amazing, Julia,” Santiago whispered. “I don’t know how many times I’ve said this. But of all the women I’ve been with, you’re the most skilled and never boring in bed.”
“Oh, really? I should deserve a reward and recognition.”
Santiago nodded in agreement. Lowering his face, he kissed Julia’s lips for a few moments.
“That’s why I plan to give you some gifts this morning.”
Julia flashed her mischievous smile. When it came to gifts, there was no way she would refuse.
“Gifts? What kind of gifts do you want to give me?”
Then Santiago pulled the knot from Julia’s nightgown until it opened completely. Throwing it away carelessly, leaving only the underwear that still covered Julia’s sensitive area.
“I’ve decided to serve you this morning. Just so you know, of all the women, only you I want to please and satisfy.”
“Oh my, I’m quite flattered by your good intentions. Should I say thank you? And… let’s see what you can do for me. And again, I wonder if you’re as good as your name suggests?”
Santiago smiled. Feeling challenged, he proved his skill in bed. If usually it was the women who satisfied, then this morning it was his turn to make Julia happy and never forget what he had given her.
