For heaven’s sake, Bella and Edward’s hearts nearly jumped out of their chests. Just as they were enjoying their kiss, even with their lips still touching, unexpectedly someone called out to them.
Had their forbidden love affair involving the two of them finally been discovered? Fortunately, no. Or let’s just say, not yet for now.
“Oh my God, Kairos!!!”
Indeed, it was Kairos who suddenly appeared and called out to them. Perhaps Edward and Bella could breathe a little easier because it was Kairos who caught them kissing.
However, they both agreed to feel surprised. How could Kairos be in Edward’s house at this late hour? Since when and for what reason?
“Why are you always like a ghost? What are you doing here in my house at this time of night?”
Kairos sighed lazily. Folding his arms across his chest, he casually answered Edward’s question.
“I came here to deliver your gun that you left at the shooting range.”
“Then, how did you manage to enter my house?”
Kairos sighed in annoyance. He felt exhausted having to explain things to Edward.
“In case you forgot, I know the pin to your front door. You were the one who told me.”
“Oh my God. Then, why not just stop by tomorrow? Why tonight? For God’s sake, you’re just like a thief.”
“Can’t you give me a better title?” Kairos snapped. “Earlier, you called me a ghost. Now a thief? Who knows what else you’ll call me in a few minutes.”
“It’s your own fault for behaving like that.”
“Besides…” Kairos continued. “I happened to have some business nearby. That’s why I decided to drop by and deliver it instead of coming back tomorrow.”
Edward sighed deeply. Even though what Kairos did was considered good, he still didn’t like it.
“Why didn’t you just leave it with security?”
Another sigh came from Kairos’s lips.
“I was going to leave it with security. But, knowing this weapon is expensive and can’t be entrusted to just anyone, I decided to put it directly into the house. Little did I know that after I finished placing it in the living room, I heard voices in the dining room. When I checked, I found both of you were busy being affectionate. You’re crazy!”
“Why crazy? This is my house.” Edward argued. He felt entitled to do anything, and Kairos had no right to protest.
“I know it’s your house. It’s up to you and Bella if you have a relationship. But, don’t you have a more private place? It’s better that I saw it. What if someone else did? Or are both of you intentionally showing off your current relationship status to everyone?”
Edward fell silent. He wanted to protest, but he realized that everything Kairos said was true. He and Bella should have been more careful and able to restrain themselves so that their actions didn’t cause a commotion.
“Well, I thank you for reminding me,” Edward said sincerely. Then his eyes shifted to Bella, who had been listening quietly to the debate between him and Kairos. “Bella, please go back to your room. You need to rest soon.”
“Alright,” Bella replied. Then she glanced at Kairos. “I’ll excuse myself now, Kairos.”
“Goodnight, Bella,” Kairos said. “If you need someone to-”
Edward had already pulled Kairos away before he could finish. He dragged the man to escort him out of the house.
“Edward! Why are you so mean?”
“It’s late. You better go home now. If you want to be angry, protest, or have a chat with me, do it tomorrow at the office and after the meeting.”
