Whether this is normal or not, Bella felt extremely awkward all the way. Just imagine, tonight she was accompanied and escorted to watch a movie by a handsome man who unfortunately was already married.
For God’s sake, if only Edward were still single, Bella would thank God and even pray day and night for him to be her destiny. But, realizing that Edward was already married, Bella had to keep her composure.
“Since the movie starts at 7, we should have dinner first.”
As soon as they arrived at the mall, Edward immediately took Bella for a quick dinner. Aware that the woman he was escorting was pregnant with his future child, Edward didn’t want Bella to miss dinner or lack energy.
“What would you like to order?” Edward asked once they were seated at an Italian restaurant.
Bella opened the menu handed by the waiter. She looked through the options before making her choice.
“I’ll have Lasagna, Tiramisu, and Gelato.”
Edward nodded and signaled the waiter to come over.
“Then, I’ll have the same. Lasagna, Tiramisu, and Gelato.”
“Alright, Sir. Please wait a moment.”
Edward wanted to enjoy his dinner peacefully with Bella. But, who would have thought that while waiting for their food to be served, they would be joined by an uninvited guest who brazenly joined their table without permission.
“How could I bump into you two here.”
Kairos addressed them, smiling meaningfully, and even took a seat right next to Bella.
Don’t ask about Edward’s sour expression. Although Kairos was his close friend, Edward sometimes got annoyed by his annoying behavior.
“Why are you here?” Edward asked, displeased.
“Everywhere people go to restaurants, of course, to eat. Not to attend concerts, let alone go camping.”
“I think you deliberately followed and tracked me until you could be here.”
Kairos narrowed his eyes. He didn’t appreciate being accused by Edward like that. After all, what was the benefit of following Edward?
“Don’t make baseless accusations. In fact, this is what we call destiny.”
Edward sighed lazily. His face clearly showed his disapproval of what Kairos was saying.
“Destiny, you say? Since when are we destined to meet? It feels more like a disaster having to meet you here.”
Kairos clicked his tongue.
“Who said I’m destined to meet you?”
“Then?”
Kairos then ignored Edward. He turned to Bella, smiling softly.
“Of course, I’m destined to meet Bella. I made efforts to meet her, and finally, we met here. I believe, God deliberately brought us together.” Kairos continued to smile. He reached for Bella’s wrist, speaking softly. “How are you, Bella? Are you okay?”
Kairos intended to kiss the back of Bella’s hand. But before his lips could land, Edward quickly stood up and pulled Bella’s hand, then pushed Kairos away.
“No need for unnecessary affection.”
Kairos grunted in annoyance. He was so close to kissing the hand of the beautiful woman next to him.
“Oh God, Edward. Why do you interfere so much?”
“It’s your presence here that disrupts our peace. Please flirt with other women. But, not Bella.”
“What’s the problem? After all, Bella is not your girlfriend, lover, let alone your wife. It’s fine if I approach her.”
Edward lazily refused to respond. Besides the fact that their food had been served, he didn’t want to waste energy dealing with Kairos’s often annoying behavior.
“Bella…” Kairos called out again. “It’s so rare to see you walking around the mall with Edward. Are you looking for something?”
Bella shook her head. While she was eating, she politely answered Kairos’s question.
“I’m not actually looking for anything.”
“Then? Why did you come to the mall?”
“No need to ask so much,” Edward interjected when Kairos was waiting for Bella’s answer.
“Oh, come on, Ed. Don’t mess around. I didn’t ask you.” Then Kairos turned back to Bella. Waiting for an answer to the question he had asked.
“I just happened to want to go to the movies tonight.”
“To the movies?”
Bella nodded.
“There’s a Marvel movie series that I want to watch, and today is the last day it’s showing in theaters. Originally, I was going to go with Clara. But, because of an emergency, Clara couldn’t accompany me. So, Mr. Edward kindly offered to accompany me.”
Kairos nodded in understanding. So this was the reason Bella went out with Edward.
“Why didn’t you just call me? After all, if you wanted, I could accompany you anytime. That’s why you need to save my phone number. Who knows, at another time, you might need my help, and I’m ready to help anytime.” Kairos then pulled out a business card from his wallet. He reached for Bella’s hand and handed her the business card. “Keep it safe. I’m sure someday you’ll need my help. If you ever need a companion in the future, I’m also ready to offer myself.”
Edward shook his head. He quickly finished the food he had ordered so he could leave Kairos’s presence as soon as possible. If he stayed too long, he might become even more annoyed and go crazy listening to his friend’s babbling.
“Kairos, it seems we need to leave soon. The movie Bella wants to watch will start in 15 minutes.”
Kairos nodded. Waving to the waiter, he kindly offered to pay.
“Let me treat you.”
“No need,” Edward immediately refused.
“Don’t hesitate. Besides, I won’t go broke immediately for treating you and Bella to dinner.”
Edward finally agreed. He thought after the drama of paying, Kairos would leave. Who would have thought that he would follow Edward and join him to the cinema?
“What do you actually want, Kairos? Why do you always like to follow me?”
Kairos laughed. He casually responded, even though he knew Edward was annoyed, he didn’t care.
“After thinking about it, it’s good to join you both to watch the movie. Besides, I’m also a Marvel movie enthusiast.”
“Since when?” protested Edward, not accepting it. As a close friend, he knew Kairos was not a Marvel fan all this time.
“Since meeting Bella, I decided to become a Marvel fan.”
“You’re insane!”
“I think I am, Ed. Crazy about Bella’s charm.”
Edward sighed tiredly. He was confused about how to deal with Kairos, who was becoming more and more annoying. After all, he imagined everything would go smoothly and calmly. But, why now it’s beyond expectations.
Even in the midst of waiting for the movie to start, Kairos once again caused trouble. With full attention, the man approached Bella who was sitting, then offered her plenty of snacks and some drinks.
“Bella…” called Kairos. Then he handed over what he brought. “I bought some food and drinks for you. Since the movie’s duration is quite long, I’m worried you might get thirsty and need something to eat.”
“Oh my God. You don’t have to bother.”
“It’s no problem,” Kairos replied casually. “Besides, a beautiful woman like you deserves to be treated and looked after.”
Edward felt like throwing up. Disgusted, he pulled Kairos away from Bella.
“Edward!” Kairos rebuked. He grumbled as the man dragged him away.
But Edward didn’t care. He took him away as far as possible. If necessary, he wouldn’t be able to come back to disturb or disrupt his peace.
As it was time to watch the movie, Edward approached Bella again. Together, they entered and sat in the prepared seats while waiting for the chosen movie to be played.
“Where’s Mr. Kairos? Isn’t the movie about to start soon?”
Edward seemed indifferent. Not caring at all about Kairos’s presence. He even prayed that the man wouldn’t come back and bother him.
“Just leave it. It’s better if he’s not here.”
“Has Mr. Kairos gone home?”
Edward shook his head.
“No.”
Bella became confused. As far as she remembered, Kairos had bought a ticket because he wanted to watch the movie with her. But why did he disappear when the movie was about to start?
“So, where is he now?”
“In the restroom,” Edward replied casually.
“The restroom?”
This time Edward nodded.
“Yes. I deliberately took him and locked him in there. Hopefully the cleaning staff won’t find him.”
“But, sir. Isn’t that…”
“Sshh.” Edward hissed. Placing his index finger on his lips, he asked Bella to stop talking. “The movie has started. You better focus on watching. Besides, Kairos isn’t a child you need to worry about.”
Bella was dumbfounded. She couldn’t believe what Edward was doing. How could he casually lock his own friend in the restroom to avoid disturbance.
