Today was a historic day for Edward Martin. The major project he had been handling for Emaar Properties was finally inaugurated. AlphaBeta had even received an award as the most competent construction company to undertake this prestigious tender.
Edward felt truly grateful. He knew that this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the solid team who worked diligently on their tasks. Especially Samuel. Despite being new to the company, he had dedicated all his best abilities to help Edward achieve his ambitions.
“Thank you, Sam. I didn’t make a mistake in choosing you as the head of this prestigious project.”
Samuel smiled contentedly, feeling proud that his hard work was appreciated.
“I also thank you, Mr. Martin, for giving me this valuable opportunity. It’s rare for a big company to entrust such a project to someone who just joined.”
His gaze then shifted to the beautiful woman standing next to Edward.
“Mrs. Chloe also contributed to this success. If she hadn’t allowed me to move from Picadelli to AlphaBeta, I probably wouldn’t have accomplished something this significant.”
Chloe smiled along, proud that the man who had been so loyal to her side could now fulfill his aspirations.
“I always believed in all your abilities, Sam. That’s why I made you my personal assistant. And now, after moving to AlphaBeta, you’ve once again proven your skills.”
Amidst their conversation, a man approached them. Without hesitation, he extended his hand to shake Edward’s hand.
“Congratulations on the achievement of your company,” the man said sincerely.
“Tristan,” Edward said softly, his face showing displeasure.
“I thought you forgot my name.”
“Haiss…” Edward scoffed. He cursed inwardly at how he could forget a friend who had deliberately stolen his girlfriend. “How could I forget someone like you? Someone who clearly once ruined my life!”
Tristan laughed, seemingly unaffected by Edward’s reproach. After all, what he said was true. In the past, Tristan had deliberately stolen Edward’s girlfriend in a cunning way, leading to the destruction of their friendship.
“But this time, I genuinely mean it. I also want to apologize directly.”
“Apologize for what?” Edward retorted quickly.
Tristan smiled faintly.
“Apologize for all my past actions that made you hate me,” he said. “I hope we can be friends again like we used to be. Without any grudges or enmity like before.”
Edward didn’t immediately agree to Tristan’s words. He chose to remain silent and contemplate what decision he should make. Earlier, Olivia had begged him to forget the past events. And now, Tristan had come on his own, asking directly for forgiveness for all his actions.
Edward remained silent for a while until Chloe tugged at his wrist, signaling him to forgive Tristan.
“Alright, I forgive you.”
Tristan smiled broadly, relieved that he had lowered himself to apologize first.
“Thank you. Does that mean I’m officially your friend again starting from this moment?”
Edward nodded quietly. He then embraced Tristan.
“Let’s hope there are no more misunderstandings between us.”
Tristan returned the hug. Relief washed over him. Now, there was no more animosity between them. He could finally rejoin Kenzi, Richard, and Kaivan.

“Are Edgar and Elena already asleep?”
Chloe peeked from behind the bedroom door, double-checking whether Edward had successfully put their two children to sleep. It’s worth noting that after the birth of their children, he became so skilled in taking care of them. Carrying them, changing diapers, and putting them to sleep, all without a single complaint.
To be honest, Chloe found it incredibly helpful. She was also glad that Edward willingly took turns to take care of their precious little ones, giving her ample opportunities to rest peacefully. After all, taking care of their twin children had truly drained her time and energy after giving birth.
“They are fast asleep now. Perhaps they are having sweet dreams,” Edward said.
He dimmed the bedroom lights, slowly walked out, and closed the door. Once he was completely outside, he spoke again, “Our kids are smart. It wasn’t difficult to get them to fall asleep.”
“Maybe they inherited my easy-to-sleep nature,” Chloe replied.
Edward nodded. It didn’t take long for his wife to fall asleep at night.
“Seems like it. Now, there’s one more task I need to do,” Edward said.
Chloe raised both eyebrows, “Is that a work-related task?”
Edward shook his head immediately, “No, it’s the task of putting you to sleep.”
“You’re crazy!” Chloe exclaimed.
Without further ado, Edward scooped Chloe up and carried her to their bedroom. Gently, he laid her down on the bed.
“You know what?” Edward said. “I feel like my life is so perfect now. I have you and our two adorable children. God has been really good to me.”
Chloe nodded in agreement. “You might have heard it many times, but honestly, I feel lucky to be your wife. I can’t imagine how things would have turned out if I had been foolish enough to follow through with my plan to destroy you. I can’t imagine betraying you on Damian’s orders.”
“No way that would have happened,” Edward reassured her. “I’m too smart for you to destroy, my dear.”
Chloe laughed. Edward was right. He could read every move she had planned in the past.
“I admit you are smart, and that’s why I’m head over heels for you,” she said.
Without hesitation, Chloe wrapped her arms around Edward’s neck. With a soft smile, she whispered, “I hope we can always be together. Let death be the only thing that separates us. I pray that God grants us a long life so we can take care of Edgar, Elena, or any other children we may have together.”
Edward nodded, then proceeded to plant a long kiss on Chloe’s forehead, then her cheek, and finally her lips. Afterward, he spoke again, “What did you say just now? Children?”
“Yes,” Chloe replied. “I dream of having four or five children with you. You don’t mind, do you?”
“Of course not. I’d be thrilled if our home was filled with little children. It means you won’t be lonely when you’re at home,” he said. “So, let’s start making many children together.”
Chloe understood the meaning behind Edward’s words. Because she desired the same thing, she gave him permission to do as he pleased.
People often say that marriages don’t always run smoothly. There are always sharp pebbles to overcome. Chloe and Edward knew that all too well. Initially, their marriage was driven by certain motives, but who would have thought that in the end, they would find the true meaning of togetherness.
There’s no more resentment, bad assumptions, obsession, or lies. Everything has now transformed into genuine love. They have been through countless seasons together, supporting each other, promising to be faithful until death separates them.
