Meanwhile, Samuel didn’t respond further. He got up and walked towards the sofa, grabbing his bag that he had brought earlier. He took something out from it and handed it to Chloe.
“It might be too early to tell you this, but considering the current situation, you should know as soon as possible.”
Chloe raised both eyebrows in surprise. Without saying much, she took the documents that Samuel handed her and started reading the papers one by one. She was quite shocked by the truth that was difficult to comprehend.
“This can’t be true,” she whispered. “And besides, where did you get all this?”
Samuel straightened his back and looked at Chloe sternly. “I apologize, ma’am. I might have been too bold to inform Mr. Edward about your suspicions all this time. Since the first time I met your husband, I was certain that he was not the culprit. That’s why I dared to tell him everything.”
Chloe’s eyes widened. “So Edward knows that I’ve been framing him? That means he also knows that I’ve been trying to destroy him?”
Samuel nodded regretfully. “Once again, I apologize, ma’am. Because of that, Mr. Edward provided all the supporting data to prove that he was not the cause of your sister’s death.”
Chloe shook her head. “But Edward could have manipulated all of this, Sam. He could have arranged everything to escape legal consequences!”
Samuel disagreed with Chloe’s accusation. He quickly took out his phone and handed it to her, showing her what he wanted her to see.
“Please, ma’am, watch the documentary video and CCTV footage from the hotel where Mr. Edward was staying.”
Chloe followed his instruction and focused on the video in front of her.
“There, it clearly shows the date and time when Mr. Edward was partying. This proves that your husband wasn’t in England when Mrs. Nathalie was severely injured and taken to the hospital.”
Chloe closed her eyes, taking the explanation from Samuel very seriously. She looked up again, facing the undeniable truth before her.
“So, who caused Nathalie’s death, Sam? Who?”
Samuel took a deep breath, trying to remain as calm as possible while providing an explanation. “Mr. Edward has promised to help investigate who is behind this case. He even swore to do whatever it takes to prove that he had nothing to do with what you accused him of.”
“Oh my…” Chloe felt her breath getting tighter with this revelation. In her confusion over her feelings, Edward suddenly left her. Now she had to face the reality that she had made a huge mistake about him.
“I have to meet Edward!” Chloe got up from her seat. She stumbled a bit as she tried to grab her coat hanging on the sofa and put it on.
“Ma’am, it’s already late,” Samuel tried to prevent her. “You can meet Mr. Edward at his office tomorrow.”
Chloe rejected Samuel’s suggestion. She had already taken her clutch from the wardrobe, preparing to leave. “But I have to meet Edward right now!”
“No, ma’am!” Samuel approached, holding Chloe back from leaving the room. “You can meet Mr. Edward anytime, but not tonight. Your emotions are in turmoil right now. Tomorrow, I promise to take you to his office. Now, it’s better to rest.”
Slowly, Samuel guided Chloe back to sit on the sofa. Fortunately, she finally agreed and accepted his offer to meet Edward the next day.

It was just nine o’clock in the morning. Edward, who had been busy, suddenly stopped his work when he heard a commotion outside his office. When he wanted to confirm what was happening, Arianna walked in without knocking, followed by Chloe, who insisted on being there to meet her husband.
“What’s going on, Arianna?” Edward was puzzled.
“I’m sorry, Mister. I tried to stop your wife from coming in, but she insisted and kept trying to break in,” Arianna explained.
Edward put down the pen he was holding and leaned back on his chair. He then responded to what Arianna had informed him. “Just leave us. We’ll be fine.”
Arianna obeyed and left, leaving Chloe and Edward alone in the room.
“What else do you want?” Edward’s voice sounded cold, completely different from his usual demeanor.
“Ed, we need to talk. I’m very certain that you misunderstood me,” Chloe pleaded.
Edward shook his head. “There’s no need to talk about it anymore, Chloe. Our relationship is over.”
“But you need to know that I’m not what you accused me of.”
Edward openly laughed mockingly, feeling provoked by what he just heard. “Oh, really? Then what about my previous predicament?”
“What do you mean by your previous predicament?” Chloe repeated.
“Oh, come on, Chloe,” Edward sighed softly. “Don’t pretend to forget. What about you accusing me of something I never did? You even deliberately framed me and wanted to destroy me, didn’t you?”
Chloe felt slapped by the truth. In the past, she had falsely accused Edward, and now he was retaliating.
“I know that I misjudged you all this time. But truly, I am not the person you accused me of being,” Edward said. He laughed, his face showing no signs of sadness, unlike Chloe.
“Unfortunately, I no longer care. Besides, my decision to end our marriage is final.”
“Ed… please…” Chloe continued to plead. But Edward remained indifferent, not responding to his wife’s requests.
However, in the midst of their conversation, the office door was knocked again. Nicholas appeared, followed by Hans, who brought along several police officers.
“Ed…” Hans greeted. Edward and Chloe both turned their attention to him. “Am I interrupting you both?”
Edward shook his head. “Of course not. I thought you’d come a bit later.”
“No, I think all these issues need to be resolved immediately.”
Edward nodded. “Well then, please do your job.”
“Officers…” Hans called out to the policemen standing behind him. “Please arrest that man right now,” he pointed to Nicholas.
Nicholas was taken aback. He didn’t expect that suddenly the police would grab him and handcuff him.
“Mr. Edward, what is going on? What’s happening?” Nicholas asked, confused and shocked.
Edward shrugged. “Just a form of accountability for your actions.”
“But, Mister-”
“Shh…” Edward put his index finger on his lips. “No need to say much. Just explain everything at the police station.”
Edward then shifted his gaze to Hans. “See you at the police station, Hans. Let’s settle everything today.”
A meaningful grin appeared on Edward’s face. Whatever he and Hans had planned, it seemed like it was coming to fruition.
