Chapter 505 Vengeance

Book:My Husband Hates Me Published:2024-5-1

“What’s the matter? Why isn’t the baby crying?”
Dorothy’s voice was hoarse, and she looked very worried.
She remembered when Belle was born, she wasn’t as quiet as this. Her cries were so loud it almost caused the delivery room to collapse.
When they heard her loud cries, almost everyone assumed that Belle was a naughty little boy.
Instead, she was an adorable and naughty girl. Perhaps she had suffered too much pain and torment when she divorced Credence, and all that despair had affected her in the womb. As a result, when Belle was born, her body was in a poor condition, and she often had to go to the hospital for medicine and infusions. Later, she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Fortunately, in the end, Jeremy was kind enough to hand Rosalie, who had matching bone marrow to Belle’s, over to them so that they could save her life.
Dorothy was elated at the thought that Belle was going to recover.
Since Belle’s illness could be cured, this little baby, whom she had just given birth to for half an hour ago, that wasn’t crying, would definitely be all right.
Credence’s attention was completely focused on Dorothy. He bent down to wipe away the sweat on her forehead and cheeks. He heard her question and turned to look at the female doctor. He frowned and said, “The child isn’t crying, what’s the matter?”
The female doctor held the baby, frowned, and carefully checked the baby. Then, she looked back at Dorothy, who was lying on the hospital bed with a pale face. She said with a slight smile, “Your baby weighs 3 pounds, and its body is stable in all aspects. Due to it being a premature birth, it held its breath before it was brought out. So, even if the child wanted to cry, it can’t cry. Your baby is very weak, and there may be some issues. We will place the baby in an incubator for twenty-four hours to ensure that it can regain its weight as soon as possible. Mrs. Scott, Mr. Scott, do you want to see the baby?”
Dorothy nodded. The doctor brought her baby over to her on the bed.
The newborn baby’s eyes were closed, its face was wrinkled and red. No one could tell whether the baby looked like her or Credence. It was held in the doctor’s embrace like a cute little puppy.
Dorothy stretched out her hand to measure it. She found that the baby was pitifully small and short. Its small fingers were as delicate as a toothpick. Her eyes turned red while her fingers and pale lips trembled. She said woefully, “I’m sorry, baby, it’s all Mommy’s fault. It’s because of me, you were born prematurely.”
Credence followed her gaze and spotted something on the baby. He was flustered. He stretched out two fingers, parted the soft towel under the baby’s bottom, and glanced at its groin area.
Yes, he was just like him. It was a baby boy.
After confirming the gender, he didn’t pay much attention to the baby. He stared at Dorothy with deep eyes that were full of concern.
When the female doctor saw this, she found Mr. Scott was just a little too worried about his wife. She wanted to laugh but knew that would only incite his ire. So she quickly suppressed her laugh and quickly told Dorothy, “Mrs. Scott, you have given birth to a baby boy. Congratulations!”
“Thank you.”
Dorothy gave the female doctor a pleasant smile. She then watched the female doctor hand the baby over to another doctor and gesture for them to place the baby in the incubator, and that they would have to carefully clean the incision on Dorothy’s belly and carefully sew it up.
She was probably numb from the intense pain she felt earlier as Dorothy didn’t really feel anything when they stitched her up. The pain she felt was bearable.
Credence let out a huge sigh of relief when he saw how relaxed she was and how she hadn’t frowned and cried out in pain. His tense heart finally relaxed. His body also started to warm up again, it wasn’t as cold as it was earlier.
When the whole process was over, it was nearly half-past eleven at night.
With the help of the female doctor, Dorothy changed into a clean and loose-fitting hospital gown. She put on a woolen cap and was gently carried onto the bed by Credence. After that, he slowly pushed her out of the delivery room.
The baby couldn’t accompany her to the VIP ward for the time being. He had to be placed in an incubator within a sterile room for at least half a month. When all the organs of his body had fully developed and stabilized, he would be brought over to Dorothy’s side to start being breastfed.
As soon as Dorothy was pushed out of the delivery room, she was surrounded by a large group of people. They had been waiting for a very long time. Among them, Germaine was the fastest to respond. She cheered and said, “Oh, my god, Dory, thank God. You’re finally here!” Then, she approached the female attending doctor and asked a plethora of questions, “Doctor, how is Dory? How is the baby? Is it a boy or a girl?”
“It’s a boy.” The female doctor had been so busy throughout the entire surgery. She was exhausted, but she knew that she couldn’t afford to offend anyone here. She frowned and explained with a gentle smile, “Don’t worry, everyone. The baby is a premature baby. His physical condition may not be great, but because of the long period of labor, there is still some amniotic fluid in his throat. So, he’ll need to be placed in an incubator for time being. During this period of time, the baby will require a specialized nurse to take care of him. Please don’t worry.”
“Good thing you’re alright. Good thing you and your baby are safe and sound.”
Yezoo continued to nod. While everyone was paying attention to the newborn baby, he spotted Credence standing beside the cart. His dark eyes were on Dorothy. He was obviously worried about Dorothy.
Ysabelle remained calm. She only glanced at Dorothy’s pale face. After that, she quickly looked away. She then turned to look at Credence, his face was gloomy. He remembered that Sheldon had just woken up in Monticello. Since Dorothy had just given birth to a baby here, he would probably have to stay in Talco City for some time. Credence would only bring Dorothy to Monticello to visit Sheldon after she had fully recovered.
When the time comes, she would make up an excuse to go with them. After that, she’d find an opportunity to meet with Sheldon and make sure that he’d never wake up ever again. She would do this to safeguard her fortune and her future.
If needed, the silenced gun in her leather bag would come in handy.
As of now, everyone’s attention was on Dorothy and her baby. No one had noticed Ysabelle’s scheming glare.
Juelz stood at the back of the crowd and was making a fuss. When he heard Yezoo talk about Dorothy and her son’s safety, he felt a wave of emotions in his heart. He felt a little at ease but also sad.
From the day Dorothy became his cousin, he had lost the right to hug and comfort her in his arms.
But as long as she was safe, it would be enough. He would never have any happiness or sorrow in his life ever again!
Germaine suddenly turned around and spotted Juelz’s extremely sullen face. She was about to ask him what was going on when she saw him turn around and leave without looking back.
Jonathan, on the other hand, squeezed up to Credence with a carefree smile on his face. “F*ck, Credence, Congratulations, both your children are safe.”
Ignoring his feelings of envy, jealousy, and hatred, Credence flashed a curt smile and walked faster. He steadily pushed the cart towards the VIP luxury ward.
But when he arrived at the door, his legs suddenly went weak and he felt a great deal of pain. Then, his body fell backwards!
