Dorothy was worried about Belle and Credence’s injuries, thus she woke up early in the morning.
She didn’t expect to meet Credence’s eyes first thing in the morning, though. She could even see herself reflected in there.
Moreover, Credence’s stubble was visible, and when he brushed it across her cheeks, it did not hurt much. It only felt ticklish and numbing.
Dorothy thought that she hadn’t woken up yet, and that she was only hallucinating. She opened her eyes wide to take a better look.
Credence was really awake. He was leaning above her, his right arm propped on the bed. He was staring at her, and who knew how long he’d been watching her.
The morning light shone through the windows, and it fell on the side of his face, making him look especially handsome.
Dorothy was a little dazzled by his handsome appearance. She stared at him a daze, then said hoarsely, “Credence, when did you wake up?”
“I have been awake for quite a while.”
Credence raised a hand and gently caressed her lips, his gaze bright.
“I think you’ve been awake for longer than a while.”
Dorothy looked at his bloodshot eyes. She sat up and looked at him with a frown. “Your eyes are completely bloodshot. Did you sleep at all?”
“I have been hugging you for the whole night. I couldn’t sleep even if I wanted to.”
He frowned and spoke matter-of-factly.
Dorothy stiffened. “Credence, what do you mean by that? Are you trying to blame me for that? I didn’t ask you to hold me.”
“It is because you are too beautiful and I couldn’t help myself.”
As he spoke, he stared into her eyes deeply, like he wanted to etch her into his eyes.
Dorothy was caught off guard, and her heart throbbed. She blushed, and her gaze swept over his arousal. She didn’t know what to say, so she averted her gaze and ignored him.
Dorothy lowered her head, getting ready to flip the sheets open. She suddenly noticed that her shirt collar had been pulled down low, revealing her fair chest.
What made Dorothy even more surprised was that her skin was covered with hickeys.
When she took a shower last night, there were no hickeys on her body at all.
Therefore, Dorothy was sure that Credence was the one who had caused these marks.
He truly wouldn’t let any opportunity go to waste.
What a b*stard, didn’t he care about the injuries on his body at all?
He really thought that he was still a teenager who was 20 years old!
Dorothy suddenly reached out her hand and adjusted her collar back to its original state. She turned around and glared at Credence angrily, “Credence, can’t you just have a good night’s sleep?”
“I couldn’t sleep at all with you on this bed and in my arms. I just wanted to f*ck you over and over again, until I ran out of strength.”
He wasn’t done flirting with her, but he suddenly heard two loud slaps, and slight pain came from his legs.
He looked down, and his lust evaporated.
Dorothy had an insect in her palm, and she smiled cheekily. “Credence, I saw this insect biting you, so I killed it for you. There’s no need to thank me.”
With that, she quickly escaped. She was so fast that Credence didn’t even have the chance to grab the hem of her clothes. All he got was her sweet scent.
….
Dorothy walked over the ward next door and saw Belle sleeping soundly. She bent down and kissed her face lightly, tenderness filling her heart.
Right now, they only had to wait for her to reach her fifth month, then they could check whether the blood was a match for Belle.
If it was a successful match, then they could extract the baby’s blood to cure Belle.
However, if it was not a match…
No!
That was impossible!
It would definitely be compatible!
Dorothy quickly shook her head to dispel her ominous thoughts. She walked into the washroom and quickly changed out of her pajamas, putting on a light coffee-coloured cardigan. Then, she heard someone knocking on the door.
Jonathan was outside, and he shouted, “Credence, it’s me! Open the door, I’ve brought the doctors to check on you!”
At Dorothy’s shouts, Dorothy quickly walked over and opened the door. She saw Jonathan and a male doctor with a handful of equipment.
When Jonathan saw her, he withdrew his cheeky smile and asked politely, “Dorothy, where is Credence?”
“He is inside.”
Dorothy pointed at the attached suite. Credence appeared at the door in a black shirt and pants and sat on a sofa nearby.
The male doctor immediately headed over to Credence and started checking his vitals.
After the examination, the doctor frowned. “Mr. Scott, did you do any intense exercise after the operation?”
When Jonathan heard this, he scooted over sneakily and looked at Credence meaningfully. “Credence, what intense exercise did you do? You’re really willing to sacrifice your wellbeing to satisfy your desires, huh?”
Credence’s cold gaze swept over him, and Jonathan immediately wilted. He shut his mouth and took a few steps back.
The doctor suddenly noticed the man’s aura getting colder and colder. He nervously sucked in a breath, then said, “Mr. Scott, getting a moderate level of a certain type of exercise is good for your recovery.”
When Dorothy heard this, her ears turned hot. She pretended to not have heard or saw anything, as she quickly turned around and left.
Credence narrowed his eyes and watched her leave. He waved a hand to dismiss the doctor, then looked at Jonathan. He said, “Immediately tell Marvin that Rosalie escaped. If I’m right, she’s probably gone to Jenciga.”
“Tell Marvin to keep an eye on all the available routes. Track Rosalie down and follow her back to their headquarters so that we can find out who’s the one behind all this.”
“Okay, Credence.”
Jonathan ran to the other side and took out his phone to call Marvin.
On the other end of the line, Marvin, who was currently at Eastland, immediately answered.
After hanging up, Jonathan ran over to Credence again, signalling an ‘OK’ with his hand. “Credence, it’s done.”
Credence looked at him and asked in a deep voice, “One more thing. How’s my surprise for my wife going?”
