Chapter 327 Credence, What Are You Doing

Although she was curious, Dorothy did not want to spy on him. She noticed that Credence’s gaze was getting colder and colder. He stopped in his tracks and answered the phone with a cold look.
The distance between the two of them was so close that although Dorothy could not see the series of numbers displayed on Credence’s phone clearly, she could vaguely hear the familiar soft voice coming from the other end. It turned out to be Rosalie.
Somehow, Dorothy’s heart skipped a beat. For some reason, she felt a little uncomfortable.
Wasn’t Rosalie sent to prison by Jonathan? How could she still call Credence?
Dorothy held back the anger in her heart and listened attentively to what Rosalie had to say.
After that, she heard Rosalie laughing proudly and enchantingly on the other end of the line. “Credence, you should’ve gotten anyone other than that useless idiot Jonathan to bring me to the police. Are you surprised that I managed to get away again? You broke two of my arms and two of my ribs, and I’ll definitely get my revenge for this.”
“Credence, please tell Dorothy that we will meet again soon!”
Her words were a direct provocation towards them.
Dorothy listened with a poker face, then she shot Credence a look. She then turned and headed towards Belle’s ward.
There was no doubt that Rosalie had gotten away again. Nobody knew what a crazed woman like her would do, and it was annoying to have to deal with her schemes.
Credence gazed at Dorothy’s slender back, and his eyes turned insanely cold. “You will die if we meet again.”
If he didn’t get rid of Rosalie, it would eventually cause a rift between him and Dorothy. He wouldn’t allow something like that to happen in a million years.
He’d already wasted ten years of their time, and they couldn’t take another ten years.
Credence hung up after threatening her, then strode towards Belle’s ward as well.
Just as he was about to enter, his phone rang again.
Credence frowned, then looked down at the phone. It was Jonathan, so he answered the phone.
On the other end of the line, Jonathan stammered.
Credence said mockingly, “What, cat got your tongue? Or have you lost the courage to say something now that you’ve messed up?”
Jonathan coughed.
He whined, “Credence, it’s all my fault. I was tricked by a bunch of b*stards!”
“Not long after you left, I brought a bunch of people with me to bring Rosalie to the police station. However, we ran into a few trucks on the way.”
“At first, I thought it was just a simple accident. Who would’ve expected that a bunch of men who looked like hitmen from Eastland would’ve popped out of the trucks? They got rid of my men in the blink of an eye, and they would’ve gotten to me as well if I hadn’t gotten out of there! Credence, you would’ve lost me forever…”
“Alright, that’s enough, I understand. Retreat for now.”
Credence’s pupils contracted, and a murderous intent rose in his eyes. “I think I know who’s behind Rosalie. She won’t live for long.”
Men from Jenciga were either drug dealers or rebels against the government. They’d be able to track him down soon enough.
“That’s good, that’s great. I was so scared.”
Jonathan went back to his usual cheeky personality after he was sure that Credence had no intentions of blaming him. “Credence, the night is still young, and your time is limited. Go have fun with Dorothy. I won’t disturb you two anymore.”
“Oh, by the way, my hospital has just received a new batch of aphrodisiacs. I heard that it can keep you going for the whole night. Do you want to give it a try?”
“I can give you an unlimited supply of it. Take it as a way for me to atone for my sins.”
“F*ck off!”
After Credence said that, he immediately hung up the phone.
By the time he entered Belle’s ward, Belle had already fallen asleep. Perhaps she was dreaming about her favourite food, because she was swallowing her saliva.
Credence watched her for a while. His heart melted at the sight of her cute actions.
He had dominated the business world for many years. Even though he had reached the peak of power and status, as well as having the rights to enjoy the ultimate privilege of authority, he had never felt so emotional just from seeing his daughter’s movements.
Ordinary men would look forward to having a good time with their wife and children. Their lives were lively despite it being ordinary. At this moment, this was Credence’s expectations as well.
Now that he had Dorothy and Belle, Credence understood what real warmth felt like. It was more satisfying than only having cold, hard cash and assets.
Dorothy had changed into floral pajamas after taking a shower in the ward’s attached washroom. The moment she stepped out, she met Credence’s deep gaze, and tenderness flashed in his eyes.
For a moment, she felt self-conscious. She stood rooted to the spot, and when she came back to her senses, she tried to walk around him.
However, he stopped her. He wrapped an arm around her slender waist, pulled her towards the door and into the lounge next door.
“Hey, Credence, what are you doing? What are you going to do?”
Dorothy realised that he was probably thinking of doing something unspeakable. She held onto the doorjamb tightly, trying to stop Credence from pulling her away.
Credence smiled at her gently, but didn’t give her an answer. He just reached out a hand to pry her fingers away, then picked her up and carried her into the lounge.
Before Dorothy could even reach, she’d landed on the bed, her hands locked behind her head. She couldn’t even move an inch.
“Credence, Belle is outside. Don’t, don’t do this!”
