When we are out of the driveway, Merida finally speaks. “What do you want to do now that you have escaped?” She asks.
“I have no idea, I just wanted to get away from them, I could really use a damn drink though.” She nods her head, a smile playing on her lips.
“We could have a girl’s night at mine, maybe later go out?” I smile, that sounds nice.
It’s actually nice to be in another female’s company. “That sounds awesome, but I don’t have anything to wear out.”
“You’re my size, you can borrow something. Let’s head back to mine.”
We drive to the City before heading toward the apartment block. It’s the same apartment block where my apartment is.
“You live here too?” She nods before turning the car off, we get out and she tosses the keys at the valet, who catches them.
“Yep, this is actually the packhouse.”
“Packhouse? I lived in an apartment building full of werewolves?”
No wonder they have a strict policy on no cats. I chuckle, remembering Theo telling me before getting angry for even thinking of the jerk.
Her lips turn up slightly. “Yep, come on I will see if any of the girls want to head out with us tonight.” As we enter the lobby the girl behind the desk calls out to Merida.
“Alicia hey, want to go out tonight with me and Imogen?” Merinda asks her.
The girl stands up, she has curly red hair and green eyes, and a smattering of freckles on her nose. She’s quite pretty but in a delicate kind of way, she looks innocent. But the grin that lights up her face, I can tell she is anything but innocent. Oh, this is going to be fun I can tell already as a devious smile lights up her face.
“Martin’s?” Alicia asks.
I have heard of it but have never been. It’s on the other side of the city and a huge nightclub.
Merida looks at me questionably, letting me decide. “I have heard of it, so I’m down.”
Alicia yips and claps her hands excitedly. “Let me get someone to cover the lobby. I will be up in a minute, it’s time to party!” She says, shaking her ass.
Merida and I laugh at her enthusiasm before walking over to the elevator. We get in and Merida takes me to the second floor. When the elevator door opens I see Floyd, nearly walking into him as we step out.
Floyd smiles before doing a double take, realizing who I am. “What is she doing here Merida? Does Tobias know?” He asks, looking worriedly at her.
“Yes, he knows and we’re going out.”
“Tobias won’t like that, Merida,” he replies, looking down at me.
“I don’t care what Tobias or Theo like, we are going out.”
Man are all werewolf men this overbearing and this god damn sexy? I watch as he pinches the bridge of his nose, his eyebrows furrowing.
“Where are you taking her?”
“Martins,” Merida tells him, unfazed by his line of questioning. He opens his mouth, gaping like a fish. We ignore him and turn, heading in the direction Merida is leading me.
“Wait!” We both stop and look back at him. “If you’re taking her, I’m coming. Tobias will fucking kill us if anything happens to her.”
“Fine, be ready by nine, Beta,” she says Beta sarcastically. Why do I have a feeling Floyd might be the killer of fun?
When we get to the apartment, Merida opens the door and I step inside. Her apartment is the same as mine, yet has a hippie feel to it, nothing I expected from the proper and prim lady I see at the office. She even has tie dyed curtains, beaded curtains on all the doorways. Huge round rugs in all different colors on all the floors and giant bean bags instead of couches.
“Make yourself at home,” she says, and I do, feeling relaxed for the first time.
“What does Beta mean? I have read plenty of werewolf fantasy books, yet never heard the term before.” I ask her since she seems to be the only one who always answers me truthfully.
“Basically, it means second in charge. But don’t worry about Floyd though the man is strict, he won’t be too annoying tonight, well not once we get him drunk anyway.” She giggles.
I chuckle.
“Drink?” She asks, holding up a bottle of red wine. I look at the time, well technically it’s evening already, lunchtime isn’t too early to start drinking. I nod and she walks over handing me a glass as I watch her fill it. And I mean fill it, the glass is huge. I stare stunned, if we keep drinking like this there is no way I’m actually going to be awake to leave tonight.
I sip it and Merida laughs, “Come on, let’s find something for you to wear.”
We walk in her bedroom which is also decorated similarly to the rest of the house. She rummages through her closet, pulling different dresses out that are extremely revealing. Tobias will throw a fit if I wear one of them.
“Which one?” Damn they are short; I won’t even be able to bend over without flashing something.
I point to the black bodycon dress, and she holds it up. “Yes, that will fit you nicely.” She states, holding the dress against me, it barely reaches mid-thigh. It certainly doesn’t leave much to the imagination. Just as I go to try it on, there’s a knock on the door.
“That will be Alicia.” she says, walking out of the room. I follow after her, Merida opens the door and Alicia steps in with three other women around our ages. All are strikingly gorgeous. One has brown hair cut into a pixie cut with big brown doe eyes, thick lashes and pouty lips. The other two are both blonde and have blue eyes. They look like sisters, the resemblance between them is uncanny.
The dark-haired woman introduces everyone.”You must be Imogen. I’m Tammy, this is Maya and Cara.” She points at herself and her friends.
“Hi,” I say nervously. I’ve never been one for hanging out with other girls, to be honest I’m not all that girly, more nerdy than girly. I feel awkward, out of place beside them.
“Come on, let’s get lit.” Tammy says, tugging on my hand and pulling me back towards the bedroom, on the way past she grabs the bottle of wine that is sitting on the counter.
Why do I have a funny feeling these girls are trouble, but in a good kind of way? They do my hair and make-up before I slide into the tight dress. Maya walks over and zips me up. By the time everyone is ready, we still have an hour before we have to leave.
Merida wears an off shoulder blue bodycon dress, and the other three might as well be naked with the little dresses they are wearing that show off more skin than I thought possible.
