Juelz’s face was pale. He stood in the room and smoked cigarettes one after the other. He stood there for a long time, until the smell of nicotine filled his throat. It was so thick that he couldn’t help but cough.
Even he had never thought that he would one day scheme against Dorothy.
He had loved her for many years. He would do anything for more, give everything up for her, even his own life.
He had never thought that they’d one day be on opposing teams.
After smoking the last cigarette, Juelz felt a chill in his heart. The scene where Dorothy was forcefully taken away kept replaying in his mind. She had stubbornly turned her head to gaze at him as she was taken away.
In the past, her gaze was filled with warmth and trust whenever she looked at him. In their place now was disappointment and hurt.
It was simple to imagine just how badly he had hurt her.
Juelz threw away the cigarette between his fingers, and slowly walked towards the dining table. He picked up the fork that Dorothy had used just now, took one bite, then another, finishing the bread that he had placed on her plate for her.
The fork was stained with her scent, and he imagined it as her own soft lips.
From Juelz’s point of view, this was an indirect kiss from Dorothy, and it made him feel sad.
Once he finished eating, he turned off the switch on the table, and the door opened.
As soon as Juelz walked out of the room, he met Germaine, who was here for breakfast.
When she saw him, she approached him with a smile and said, “Juelz, I was so unlucky. As soon as I got out of the car, my wallet was stolen by a thief. I don’t have money to eat this month. So I’m going to have to take free meals from your restaurant, would you mind?”
Juelz shook his head and was about to pass by without saying a word. However, Germaine grabbed him and teased him maliciously, “D*mn, Juelz, your eyes are dull and your eye bags are dark. You must be suffering from dissatisfaction! I’m good at this kind of disease. Do you want to show the solution now? The original price is 1, 666, 666 dollars. I’ll give you a 95% discount because we’re family.”
Juelz was originally in a bad mood, but Germaine’s shameless act of asking him for money amused him. He kicked at her playfully and laughed. “I don’t have money, but you can take my life. Get out of here!”
“F*ck, you kicked me without any warning. Juelz, don’t you think of me as your sister?”
Germaine jumped to one side nimbly and glanced sideways at her depressed cousin. She crossed her arms over her chest and huffed, “You’ve only ever been nice to Dory, and you’ve always treated me like trash. Tell me the truth, I was adopted, right?”
“Do not mention her name.”
With a bang, he threw a lighter at her feet. Germaine looked down in shock, and she noticed that the diamonds were embedded into the lighter.
This was like a pot of gold to Germaine, who was currently broke. She quickly picked it up.
When she looked back, she felt a gust of wind sweep past her. She saw Juelz leaving as quickly as he could. His retreating figure actually made Germaine feel the desolateness of the autumn night.
“What’s he up to? How strange.”
Germaine muttered to herself and went to her favorite private room. She ordered a table of delicious food. After she thought about it, she decided to call Dorothy to talk about Juelz’s abnormal behavior just now.
However, despite calling her five to six times, her phone was turned off. She did not even read her texts, nor reply her.
This was completely unlike Dorothy.
Even if Dorothy didn’t reply her immediately, she would get back to her within half an hour. A situation like this had never happened before.
Germaine suddenly panicked. She asked a waiter to arrange for takeaway, and she hurriedly went to the hospital where Belle was at.
Her intuition told her that something very bad had happened, and it was happening at this very moment.
She subconsciously wanted to call Credence to ask about it, but the line was always busy on his side.
Germaine rushed over to the hospital with anxiety. She ran into Jonathan, who was about to go crazy. Jonathan was in an extreme state of panic.
“Jonathan, why are you here? Where’s Dory?”

Germaine remained calm in the face of Jonathan’s anger. She shrugged. “I’m going to check up on Belle. I don’t have time for this.”
When Jonathan saw her walking towards the wrong direction, Jonathan sighed and said, “Wait, Belle is not in the ward. She suddenly passed out, and is now receiving emergency treatment in the ICU.”
“The f*ck, Dory went missing, and Belle has suddenly fainted. What on earth has happened?” Germaine asked indignantly.
“How to f*ck would I know what’s going on?”
As of now, the only thing he could do was to pray for Belle to be safe to pacify Credence’s anger.

Credence arrived at the location that Marvin had sent him as soon as possible.
It was a dilapidated building in the old city area. The woman who had been caught, lived in a small room on the top floor, and it was less than fifty square meters.
When Marvin saw that Credence had arrived, he shot a cold glare at the woman who was sitting on the sofa. “He’s here. Tell us everything you know right now, otherwise, I can’t promise you your safety.”

The woman’s knees were weak, and she fell to the ground. She looked up at Credence as her lips trembled. “Mr. Scott, I, I am Yvonne. Do you remember me?”
Credence stared at Yvonne for a few seconds before he finally recognized her. This woman was Rosalie’s cousin, Hugo’s wife, and she was also Sandy’s mother.
She was a nobody. If it weren’t for Rosalie, she would never even have had a chance to see him in her entire life.
He used to be affectionate towards Sandy, but ever since he’d found out that Belle was his daughter, he felt that Sandy wasn’t a simple character. He immediately lost all affection for her.
The Fisher family had fallen, and her daughter had lost Credence’s protection. Yvonne’s life was becoming worse and worse. Due to her having offended Credence in the past, every major hospital refused to accept her.
In the end, Yvonne had to take up a job as a bar girl in order to survive. Over time, she’d become the exact type of woman that she hated the most.
Credence frowned. He didn’t have the time to reminisce with this woman, and asked, “Why were you at Bramble Garden, and why did you get together with the project manager?”
“Mr. Scott, I will tell you the truth, but you have to let me go.”
Yvonne knew that she could not escape her punishment. Credence was infamous for his ruthlessness, and tears streamed down her face. “A week ago, I suddenly received a mysterious email claiming to make a deal with me. They first sent me 500, 000 dollars. As long as I followed their orders, I would be given 1. 5 million dollars when the job was done. I was tempted by the money.”
“That night, I used all my skills to charm that fat man. Back then, I didn’t know why the other party wanted me to do this. Halfway through, someone came to the fat man to tell us that the construction site had collapsed, and five migrant workers died on the spot. It was only then that I realised that the project belonged to Scott Group and understood the true intentions of those people.”
“Mr. Scott, that is everything I know. I really don’t know anything else… Ah!”
Before Yvonne could finish talking, she suddenly screamed miserably.
Marvin withdrew his leg and frowned. “Get to the point. Where did you see Dorothy?”
After being kicked in the stomach, some blood slowly flowed from Yvonne’s mouth. She was in so much pain that she almost passed out, and she didn’t dare hide the truth. “When I went for breakfast, I think I saw her at a rather well-known restaurant. She disappeared when I tried to take a closer look though, so I’m not too sure whether it really was her.”
Credence asked coldly, “What’s the name of that restaurant?”
“I really don’t know, but I’ve been there with my clients a few times. Juelz and Germaine often go there.”
When he heard that, Credence immediately walked out of the small room, took out his phone and called Germaine.
Germaine was anxiously waiting outside the emergency room for Belle. “Yvonne? I don’t know anybody like that. Oh, that restaurant? Juelz owns it. He opened it specially for Dory because she likes the food there.”
Credence’s face was frosty when he hung up. He was almost sure that Juelz had something to do with Dorothy going missing.
Otherwise, with Dorothy’s character of placing her daughter as her top priority at all times, it would be impossible for her to turn off her phone and go missing just like that.
Juelz was the only person whom she wouldn’t be cautious of.
Marvin frowned. “Credence, what do you think is on Juelz’s mind?”
“He probably planned this with Jeremy. They are using Dorothy to pin me down, so that Jeremy and Rosalie’s backers can smoothly swallow up the Scott Group.”
The more critical the situation was, the calmer Credence got.
“Marvin, get Yvonne into jail, then find out who was the one who sent her the email. I’m going back to the company.”
If the enemy did not make a move, he wouldn’t either.
Since Juelz and the others had something in mind, they wouldn’t do anything to Dorothy at the moment. He’d have to go back to the company to hold the fort down and wait for them to make their move.
However, his heart couldn’t help aching for Dorothy.
She’d viewed Juelz as her only family, and she could’ve given her life up for him. It would definitely have hurt her immensely to have been betrayed by him like this!
