Chapter 179 She Has Her Own Difficulties

On the phone, Dorothy asked the person to meet her at Blues Cafe.
Seeing that it was almost time, she got out of bed, washed her face, and hastily ate her breakfast. After leaving Belle to Madam Wood, she took a taxi and headed to the rendezvous point.
When she entered the private room she booked, Dorothy was surprised to find Jonathan, whom she had called, had already arrived. He sat lazily in a chair, drinking his coffee and eating snacks, looking comfortable.
“Miss Fisher, oh, wait, that sounds a little distant. I should just call you Dorothy.”
After that, Jonathan narrowed his eyes and lit a cigarette. He exhaled a few puffs of smoke and continued. “What do you want from me so early in the morning? Just say it.”
Dorothy lowered her head and took a sip of the bitter coffee. Her fingers clenched the cup tightly. She said with a faint smile, “Can you tell me why Credence is suddenly going against Juelz’s company?”
Germaine had thought that Credence was waiting for an opportunity to take revenge on Juelz after he was humiliated by her that night.
However, Dorothy knew Credence better than anyone else. He was not that simple-minded of a man.
Jonathan raised his eyebrows in surprise. He was a little shocked that Dorothy had asked him so bluntly and directly but he really liked her straightforward attitude. He flicked away the cigarette ash between his fingers, pushed a dish of snacks over, and said with a smug expression, “You’ve come to the right person.”
“Let me tell you why Credence wants Juelz dead. In fact, I’ll give you two reasons.”
“First, Credence was assaulted badly during the equestrian competition. Not only were two of his ribs broken, but his blood was also extracted too. After investigating, we realized that Juelz was behind it.”
“Second, Credence was taken advantage of by a mysterious woman in Talco Hotel a month ago. Although the surveillance footage was useless and led us to a dead-end, loopholes still appeared. That’s inevitable, don’t you think so, Dorothy?”
“As for who that mysterious woman was, I believe you know better than I do.”
Jonathan’s words sent chills down Dorothy’s spine. She subconsciously lowered her head and took a sip of the bitter coffee that had long turned cold. She felt so cold that she shuddered.
If Jonathan could tell her that much, it meant that he had heard it all from Credence.
It seemed that Credence had found a lot of evidence, and that was why he wanted to end Juelz, not sparing him in the slightest.
However, in the end, he was not the one who provoked Credence. Dorothy was!
Juelz himself did not hold any grudges against Credence and he only wanted to help her cure Belle. However, he had unknowingly offended Credence.
Would that petty man go easy on Juelz once she went to him and confessed her wrongdoings?!
At the thought of that, Dorothy raised her head. She stared at Jonathan with a clear and quiet gaze, and said nervously, “Can you tell Credence that none of this has anything to do with Juelz? I caused all of this.”
“As long as he’s willing to let Juelz and J&D Group go, I will accept any punishment he throws at me without complaint.”
“Oh Dorothy, I may be a little bit stupider than Credence, but that’s only because I am too lazy to use my brain. Do you really think I’m as stupid as everyone else thinks?”
Jonathan raised his eyebrows, looked at her for a moment, and sneered, “I can help you, sure! However, you were the one who disappeared six years ago and suddenly returned to Talco City, asking Juelz to help you out. He even hired mercenaries to beat Credence up in order to draw his blood. So here’s my question, why do you suddenly need Credence’s blood?”
He snorted again, “And don’t tell me that it’s because you want to check if he has any diseases that would affect your sweet night with him.”
Dorothy had not expected Jonathan to be so smart. She was a little taken aback by his question.
Should she tell him the truth? Should she say that it was to see if his bone marrow was a match for Belle?
From the beginning till now, she was reluctant to let Credence know about Belle’s existence at all.
Belle was hers and hers alone. She was her hope when she endured those difficult times. No one would be able to take Belle away from her, not even Credence.
Furthermore, Credence was about to marry Rosalie. Once he got married, he would soon give birth to a child, too. If he found out that Belle was also his daughter, then with his extreme abhorrence towards her and his persistence of not letting her be happy, he would definitely take Belle away from her without hesitation.
There was no way she would let Belle live a difficult life under Rosalie’s care, or lack thereof.
She was deeply aware of the pain and sorrow of depending on others, so she didn’t want Belle to shed more sad tears than happy ones.
Between lying and concealing, she decided to conceal the truth instead.
If she lied to Jonathan now, she would need to lie countless times to smooth out this one single lie in the future. If that really happened, she would really grow tired.
She thought about it clearly, slowly frowned, and smiled apologetically at Jonathan, “I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you the reason why. Believe me, I will never do anything to hurt Credence ever again.”
“F*ck, you took advantage of Credence without his consent. Isn’t that already hurting him?” shouted Jonathan.
His tone strongly hinted at calling a b*tch for attacking Credence like that.
Dorothy was extremely humiliated till her face turned red. She secretly pinched her palm and held back her embarrassment. “What do you want me to do in order for you to help me?” She asked.
Jonathan looked at this woman. She had obviously made a mistake, but she still acted as if she did nothing wrong. He thought it was a little amusing.
When she lowered her stubborn head and bit her lips, she looked even more delicate and charming.
She was such a beautiful woman and full of personality. No wonder Credence was unable to forget about her. Even if he lost his memories, his body still subconsciously accepted her, but not Rosalie at all.
When he thought of Rosalie, he was only thinking of ways to prevent her from succeeding. Jonathan did not hesitate at all. He nodded and said without hesitation, “Alright, I will help you ask Credence. Wait for my message.”
“Alright, thank you.”
Dorothy had finally solved the pressing matter in her heart, and she heaved a long sigh of relief.
A few days later, Dorothy received a message from Jonathan. He gave her an address and told her to hurry up as someone was waiting for her.
Dorothy knew all too well who that person was.
Although she knew only bad things awaited her, in order to not drag Juelz and his company down, she had no choice but to go alone.
She put on plain makeup and changed into a simple black lace dress. After that, she stopped a taxi and rushed over.
During the one-and-a-half-hour journey, there were countless times when Dorothy wanted to jump out from the back seat and disappear.
However, her conscience told her that if she dared do that, she would only be welcomed with a crueler punishment
For Belle and Juelz’s sake, she couldn’t give up halfway.
She did not have any more powerful forces backing her up. She could only be as strong as a warrior, cutting through all the obstacles in front of her and moving forward bravely.
Dorothy got out of the car, mustered all her courage to step into the place, and took the elevator to the top floor.
She stood by the closed door of the only private room and lingered for a while. Finally, she reached out her trembling hands, opened the door, closed her eyes, and dragged her legs into the room.
