“Credence, I didn’t mean to test your patience. I just love you too much, and I’m dying to become your woman. I’ve been waiting for this day, for a very, very long time.”
Rosalie spoke softly, grievances coloring her tone. At the same time, she snuck her hand into Credence’s black nightgown. Her seemingly soft and gentle fingers slid down the skin on his back, stroking him in circles.
Brows furrowed tightly, Credence took a deep breath. Suddenly, he turned around and took a few steps away from her. His handsome face was expressionless as he replied, “I am very tired now, and I want nothing more than to rest.”
“Credence, I’ve always had you in my heart. I really love you, and I want to sleep in the same bed with you. Don’t you want me at all?”
Rosalie’s delicate face was flushed with shyness. Her watery eyes were filled with deep emotions as she stared at Credence, never blinking.
As he walked back, she shimmied up and hurled herself into his chest, pressing against his strong body, her soft and moist lips heading towards his thin ones immediately.
Credence averted his face to avoid Rosalie’s assault, and then pushed her away with all his strength. A dangerous glint shone in his dark eyes.
“Sorry, but I’m not interested in those things for the time being.”
The next second, he heard suppressed sobs bubbling from Rosalie.
“Then, Credence, when will you grow interested in me? Why must you find an excuse to lie to me every time? I love you, I’m your fiancée, and I hope to feel happiness and satisfaction from you. Is there anything wrong with me? Do you dislike me?”
Rosalie crumpled to the cold floor in pain. Her hair was disheveled and tears kept rolling down her eyes. She sobbed softly, as if she had been wronged. Her face was streaked with tears, and no longer did she look like the glorious goddess she had been that morning.
“If I disliked you, I wouldn’t have agreed to be engaged to you. Don’t think too much.”
Credence looked at Rosalie, who had become a completely different person from the past, with a headache. He noticed that her eyes were red and swollen, so he frowned and eventually softened his voice, soothing her.
“If so, why won’t you let me stay with you?”
Rosalie looked up at his handsome face right in front of her. The lights were dim, and his facial features had also blurred in the light, making it difficult for her to see him clearly. Was the reflection in his eyes Dorothy or Rosalie?
She stared deeply into him with her teary eyes, and her slender white fingers stretched towards his left chest, where his heart laid. As soon as she spoke, tears spilled out of her eyes like a waterfall, gushing down.
“Credence, do you have me in your heart? Do I have a spot in your heart?”
Seeing her heartbroken expression, Credence’s heart softened, and his cold expression faltered. He said, “Don’t overthink this. Everything will be better after we get married.”
“Is that true? Credence, will you really marry me?”
Although forcing him in such an aggressive manner was such an embarrassing thing for her to do, Rosalie had no other choice.
Ever since Credence had a car accident on the way to catch up with Dorothy six years ago, she had grown desperate upon finding out that no matter how hard she tried to seduce Credence, he had no interest in her at all. He had always coldly looked at her, who was trying to seduce him. He was truly indifferent to her.
“Credence, will you really sleep with me by then?”
Faced with Rosalie’s question, Credence struggled to respond. Truth be told, even he himself had no idea why he had absolutely no desires towards Rosalie.
Upon being faced with her seduction, his body would more or less garner a reaction, but every time he wanted to take things to the next step, his mind would grow hazy and fill with white fog. A strange sense of emptiness would fill his every nerve and cell, as if the void in his body could never be fulfilled. Naturally, he would lose even more interest in doing the deed.
However, Rosalie was not the only woman to who he did not react. Whenever he had dinners in bars and clubs, he would never be interested in any women that served him.
Jonathan would always laugh at him for having no feelings for women, and said that he must have been a priest that held no desire for carnal pleasure.
However, that was not the case at all.
Occasionally, vague memories would erode Credence’s brain. From those vague images, he seemed to have been reluctant to part with a woman’s body. He wanted nothing more than to relish her body every night.
Obliterated were those memories, but Credence was positive that Rosalie was not that woman in his mind.
Who on earth could that woman be?
Whose body had the ability to make him yearn for it like a moth drawn to a flame?
Could it be Dorothy?
Credence thought of how unhappy their encounters always were and how he would always have an urge in his heart to reject her.
He hated her, and he was disgusted with her for seducing other men. How could he be reluctant to part with her body?
He told Rosalie, “Don’t worry.”
Credence hid the emotions in his heart and reached out to pull Rosalie up from the floor. He kissed her on the forehead and said, “I am a man of my word. Since I have promised to marry you, I won’t change my mind.”
Rosalie’s face turned scarlet from his kiss.
However, deep down, her heart had already frozen over to become as frigid as a thousand-year old iceberg.
So many years had worn by and she had given Credence all her love. A step further and she would have tied a noose on her neck for him. However, he was still unwilling to kiss her on the lips.
She clamped her eyes shut and covered up all the jealousy and iciness in them.
…
Dorothy had no clue that once more, she had earned a spot further into Rosalie’s grudge. One day, after she had finished the tasks in her hands and assigned it to the various department heads of the company, she could finally seize some time to take a breather. So, she stayed in Juelz’s office and let the air conditioner cool her as she drank a glass of lemonade.
Germaine had found a diligent and kind-hearted nanny to take care of Belle in the apartment. Upon seeing the nanny, Madam Wood, sincerely taking care of her daughter, her heart, which had originally held fear, finally relaxed.
She had no more distractions and could finally fully focus on getting pregnant with Credence’s child.
One method she had thought of was by obtaining his sperm and opting to have a test tube baby. The other method was to force herself on him and impregnate herself in the most natural way possible.
However, no matter what choice she made, the difficulties were relatively high.
Due to this difficult matter, Dorothy grew so worried that she failed to fall asleep at night at all. She felt that her hair was about to turn grey from the stress.
At that moment, the office door was suddenly kicked open by someone from outside. Germaine, who was dressed in a fiery red dress, burst in like a burning ball of flame.
She took off the dramatic diamond-flecked sunglasses on her head and noticed Dorothy’s sad face. She shook her head and said, “Girl, haven’t you thought of a way to deal with Credence?”
“No, I haven’t. I’m so worried that I feel like I’m dying.”
“D*mn it, you gorgeous b*tch. Why don’t you just come to me when you have problems?”
Germaine pretended to be unhappy and pursed her red lips. She emphasized, “Have you forgotten how your best friend got famous in Talco City? Whether it’s drinking, socializing or having fun, I’m good at everything!”
“I’ll tell you what, the probability for you to get pregnant with Credence, who has long forgotten about his marriage with you, is next to zero. However, with my sinister tricks, I can guarantee that you will hit the jackpot at your first try and get those babies in your belly.”
Dorothy frowned, “What kind of sinister tricks do you have up your sleeve?”
She stopped drinking her lemon tea.
