Chapter 148 A Stubborn Maniac

Half a cigarette was clamped between Jonathan’s lips. He stared at his own wrist, which had been grabbed by a beautiful woman donned in a pale blue elegant dress. Her collar was not too wide, and just ran a little lower than her collarbone. The rest of her snow-white skin had been covered up tightly. From her curves, it could be seen that she was a total babe.
There was a faint smell of alcohol from her body, and her eyes, which were big and bright, were misty. She was tugging him and talking to him in a drunken state.
All that wasn’t important. The most crucial part was that this woman looked particularly familiar.
Apart from being equipped with a tendency to gossip, Jonathan had another merit that was worthy of praise. He had a great photographic memory, and he could remember everything by only looking at it once.
He squinted his eyes and sized Dorothy up. When he finally realized who she was, the corners of his lips quirked into a smug smile.
Six years between their last meeting, and he really had not expected to meet Dorothy here. It was a coincidence at the heart of coincidence itself!
Wait a minute! What did she just ask him?
Where were all the hotties?
She had come to the right man to ask. He, for one, actually knew which place had the most hotties.
He smiled at the thought of being able to watch a mischievous scene about to unfold. He raised his finger and pointed to the front, “See that corridor? Walk along it. After that, turn left and walk straight to the room at the end of the corridor. There’s a man you want to find inside.”
“Thanks. Although you are not my type, you’re pretty good. I guess you’ve barely passed.”
Dorothy waved at Jonathan with satisfaction before she staggered forward with footsteps as light as the clouds.
Jonathan had always taken pride in his own appearance, but even he was stunned upon hearing Dorothy’s high-spirited nonsense. He could not help but whisper, “Dorothy, you must have one hell of a bad eyesight. Although I’m not as good as Credence in terms of his looks and intelligence, I’m not so bad as to barely pass your standards. My face deserves eighty points at the very least.”
Jonathan was looking forward to what would happen next. He smiled strangely and followed Dorothy, his steps silent all the way through.
Suddenly, his left shoulder was clenched so tightly that his footsteps came to a halt and his body was thrown back as well.
“What the f*ck?! What b*stard is grabbing me?”
Jonathan blurted out. When he saw Juelz viciously glaring into him with his face livid, the anger on Jonathan’s face turned into mockery, and he could not help but reveal a devil-may-care expression. He said, “Juelz, what do you mean by this? You see, I don’t swing that way, nor am I interested in you. Why the hell are you clawing on to me?”
“Have you seen Dory?”
“Who is Dory? Do I know her?”
“Dory, as in Dorothy Fisher!”
Juelz gritted his teeth and spat out each word one by one.
He had followed Dorothy all the way, keeping an eye on her. Unexpectedly, he had happened to meet an important client on the way. The two of them had chatted for a while, and he had been delayed for a few minutes.
In just a few minutes, he was startled to realize that Dorothy was gone. He could only see Jonathan leisurely pacing around with his hands tucked inside his pockets, looking like he was waiting to see a good show.
Hence, Juelz concluded that this man must know Dorothy’s whereabouts. Without heeding any courtesy, he grabbed Jonathan by his collar and asked for Dorothy’s whereabouts.
“Now, that’s weird. I only know that Dorothy used to be Credence’s wife and I’ve only had a few meals with her, so I’m not at all familiar with her. How should I have any idea where she went?”
“Juelz, rather than wasting your time interrogating me, you should make use of it to find her. Good lord, you’ve been wooing her for around 18 years, but you don’t even have a title yet. What does this mean? It means that Dorothy Fisher doesn’t give a sh*t about you at all.”
“Since we used to be friends and flirted with girls together, I’ll give you a piece of advice: It’s time to let go.”
“Don’t you have any f*cking clue about the man in her heart?”
“Quit with all these crappy stuffs. No one will confuse you for as a mute.”
Being stabbed in the heart by every of Jonathan’s words, Juelz’s heart had almost had a breakdown. He lifted his right leg and kicked that annoying man away. Then, he rushed forward to find Dorothy without looking back.
Everyone knew that he was crazily smitten with Dorothy, but Dorothy had only ever loved Credence. However, no matter how hard he tried to pester her, she had outright refused his proposals, leaving no room for negotiation at all.
Every time he thought of that, he felt as if his heart was being run over by several monstrous trucks.
Due to the pain in his heart, Juelz only cared about running forward and did not notice Dorothy at all. She was just trudging lazily on the left side of a junction. She muttered to herself, “Ugh, it’s been so long. Why haven’t we arrived yet?”
“We’ll be there soon, as it’s right in front.”
A man’s teasing voice came from behind.
Hands shoved in his trouser pockets, Jonathan gave Dorothy an absolute answer.
In the next instant, Dorothy slowly turned her head around and gave him a sweet, wide smile as she answered, “Oh, okay.”
Finally, she reached the end of the dimly-lit corridor. She pushed open the unlatched door of the private room and walked in.
As her sight was somewhat bleary, Dorothy raised her hand to rub her eyes. With her footsteps lighter than air, she wobbled step-by-step to the man sitting on the sofa not far away with his back to her.
The man looked languorous and reserved. He held a glass of red wine in his hand as he gracefully twirled it from side to side.
From the looks of his highly defined profile, he seemed cold, yet so handsome that he could captivate any woman.
This man was the creme de la creme. It seemed like he was second only to Credence.
Thinking of Credence, Dorothy’s heart ached at first, and then a sour feeling coursed through her body. She shook her head hard to expel all the unnecessary emotions. Then, she bent over to him with a smile and whispered in his ear, “Hey handsome, you look so good. I really like you. Come home with me.” She hiccupped and continued, Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you.”
“Get lost!”
Credence turned his head around and stared coldly at the crazy, drunk woman who had suddenly lunged on him from behind, clutching on to his shoulder and not letting go. His pupils contracted rapidly.
Why was it always this shameless woman?!
What was her name again?
How did she know where he was?
“No can do! Now, don’t be so petty. I just want your help. Come on, get up!”
Dorothy was in a drunken daze, and her vision had also been affected by the alcohol. She could not read the irritation and disgust on the man’s face and completely devoted herself to fulfilling her end of the bet with Juelz and Germaine. Her mind fuzzy, she tugged on Credence’s arm.
A drunk woman could not be reasoned with, as she would lose all her rationale. Dorothy, in particular, had a stubborn personality, which was why her stubbornness was even more pronounced when she was in a drunken state.
After yanking the man for god-knows-how-long, Dorothy was smoldering with anger. She raised her hand and slapped him on the face, shouting, “What’s wrong with coming with me? You’re a man, and it’s not like you have anything to lose. How stingy!”
Jonathan had been discreetly taking everything in through the crack of the door, but he did not expect Dorothy to be so bold as to slap Credence in the face. He could not help but huff a chuckle.
“Credence, a stingy man?! Man, Dorothy really is a fairy who has come here to cure me from my boring life. She truly makes me want to laugh my a*s off.”
